If you are looking for the Authentic Persian Restaurant in OC and homemade food this is it, The meat is really fresh and the lamb shank is really good as well , I could come here every day. The owner is really nice and very accommodating.

This review is for their new location at 2383 W. Lincoln Ave, Anaheim. A nice new space for them. Which I hear they like. They are always friendly and welcoming. The food is good and generous in portion size. They are renovating the patio for outside seating and will be making an outside waiting area. They are doing well so far since opening up. The chicken Koobideh with Cherry Rice is really good. I'm glad they are closer to me. Its easy for parking as well. Please check them out at this new location. We ordered lamb chops and beef kebab. Both were delicious. However, the presentation and lack of complementary items made the whole experience bland. The addition of 75 cents worth of fresh mint, basil and maybe some radish and spring onion would have made the whole experience and perceived value, so much better. As it was, the bland rice with a raw onion, made unworthy companions to what could have been an excellent meal.

So I rolled up to Hatam Restaurant the other day craving some serious Persian vibes and let me tell you it did not disappoint. The koobideh kabob was legit fire, super juicy with that perfect char on the outside. And don’t even get me started on the saffron rice. It’s like sunshine on a plate, for real. The staff was super friendly and made me feel right at home. Shout out to the waiter who helped me choose the best kabob. The interior is kinda old school though, which some might call rustic charm, but I’d love to see them update the decor just a bit. A sprinkle of modern flair would totally elevate the ambiance to match the bomb food. All in all, Hatam is definitely a vibe if you’re looking to get your Persian food fix. I’m giving it four stars because the food is top tier and the service is awesome but the atmosphere could use a little glow up. Still, I’m already plotting my next visit and I totally recommend it

Decided to try Persian food today. Service was a tad slow. Portions are pretty big. Food is tasty, But pricy. Gratuity is automatically charged. Overall a good place to try Persian food. Their yogurt sauce is really tasty. The flat bread is delicious. *fun fact, you get a plate of butter and raw onion. The raw onion is a delicacy that is enjoyed as is.

Ive been going here since i was a child. Always loved it. This is their new location which is better than the last one. Me and my family left knots berry farm and headed here to have lunch I order the lubia polo and replace the meat with boneless chicken and as usual comes out as delicious and fresh. Its very hot when i got my order. When you take out they put you huge amount of food for $13 for lunch and $16 for dinner. The rice is amazing but the chicken didn’t have much flavor. They put you a side of pita bread, butter, a smoked tomato, lemon, and sumac spice which goes well with the rice. Overall I recommend for the food.

My husband said this is the best Persian restaurants tried. I like the eggplant tomato beef sauce on the tahdig. Other dishes are a little bit too dry to my personal taste but overall is an interesting experience.

We were visiting Irvine and decided to go this resturant. We sat outside on the patio with my wife and child. The outside windows and walls were extremely dirty, covered in dust and debris. The food is not cheap—$4 for a single glass of dough filled mostly with ice. The waitress barely came by one time to over and a second time to bring the food, yet we were hit with an automatic 18% gratuity on the bill, but they font say anything. On top of that, they still asked for an additional tip at the bottom of the receipt. The owner is double-dipping by charging premium prices for the food and then adding an automatic tip on top. Shady business practice. A tip is supposed to be based on the quality of service and the food, not automatically given. Definitely not worth the price. We will not be going back.

I’ve been coming to Hatam restaurant for years—both dine-in and takeout—but sadly, it’s been going downhill for a while now. Here’s my observations: 1️⃣ Extremely rude customer service I recently brought an American friend to show off our Persian culture, and I was embarrassed. No greeting when you walk in, no smile, nothing. The restaurant was practically empty, yet the staff acted like doing their job was a favor. When you order by phone, it’s the same attitude—rushed, rude, and unwelcoming. Persian culture is known for warmth and hospitality, but this place gives the opposite impression. This is not how we Persians are! 2️⃣ Bland, tasteless food For the price they charge, the food quality is unacceptable. The kebabs and stews are flavorless, watery compared to nearby competitors like Mission Ranch. Persian food should be rich and aromatic, not bland and forgettable. 3️⃣ Nickel-and-diming on basics On my last takeout order, I was told onion is “complimentary.” Seriously? Every Persian knows that onion is a basic part of any kabob dish—it’s not some special extra. That comment alone was my final straw. Will not be supporting this restaurant again. After 6 years of being a loyal customer. This used to be a place I loved supporting, but unless they change the management, hire friendlier staff, and improve the food quality, I won’t be coming back. It’s sad to see a place with so much potential go downhill .

So we had a good experience here. No doubt the food tasted good but was pricey. What I didn’t like is the fact that they added gratuity for two people. Well I don’t understand why does the customer have to pay a high price for the food and also the service? It’s the employer’s responsibility coz they hired the people. It’s understandable if it’s 4 or more but we were just two people with two orders. It’s ridiculous. The bill was 100$ for two people. Isn’t that insane?
