We had got this recommendation from some work friends and it far surpassed any expectations we thought we would have. This is a must stop location. The atmosphere is amazing the servers/ cashiers were great The food is outstanding. Thank you for such an enjoyable experience.

I was recently in Long Beach for a work trip and decided to check out the menu on my way back from a beach walk to the hotel. I ordered the “world famous pastrami” sandwich (as it was from the menu: cheese, mustard and pickles on fresh Italian bread) - delicious! NYC at the beach! By far the best pastrami sandwich I’ve EVER had and plan on ordering this again next time I’m here for work! Amazing!

Great food, wine, and the deserts.... Chocolate cake and the chocolate chip cookies. So good! The last time we were there there was a duet playing music. It was a great vibe. Perfect for a date. Perfect for a girls night out. Lunch with friends. You name it.

The French Dip is perfect. Au jus is great, bread is great, cheese is great... ITS ALL GREAT! I’ve had their other sandwich; the pastrami one with marinara. Also worth checking out!

That blonde waitress is SUPER fine. But, the food is even finer. Modica's has the best food and service in Downtown Long Beach!

Modica's Deli located in the downtown community of Long Beach is a great find. We recently went by and were pleasantly surprised with a great deal on a lunch special. I proceeded to order it and it was yummy. There were other individuals enjoying a meatball sandwich. The portions are plentiful. Bring your appetite.

The menu is straight forward and the sandwiches are relatively simple. The sandwiches are huge! It is definitely possible to share a large but a small/regular is filling. Be sure to grab a dessert from the display. The chocolate cake and the carrot cake are delicious.

I stopped here for a quick lunch after the Long Beach Marathon. The sandwich was great and a reasonably priced. It was filling and all of the flavors went well together. I bought 2 but only ate 1 and took 1 to-go. The service is very attentive and polite. I would definitely come back here!

Orsa and her team were engaging and professional throughout the planning process and were incredible on the day of the event as well. The food was delicious and visually appealing and very popular with our guests. It was the first event I have ever planned and Orsa made it easy from planning to execution. Very pleased and grateful!

Found this little gem after performing a Google Maps search in my area for a "meatball sub!" I was looking for a place within biking distance with a great sub and not looking to break the bank. This place definitely got my business. The meatball sub for my daughter was great! She loved it! I got the meatloaf sub and I think it was better than her sandwich, but both are great! Nice place, good service, and great food at reasonable prices! We will definitely come back!

Having a meal at this casual , friendly spot is part of every trip I make to lovely Long Beach. I’ve had delicious meatball sandwiches and salads in the past, but on this brisk day, soup was perfect. Today’s hiuse special soup was Tuscan soup, served with a whole loaf of bread. Service is great and the kitchen does a great job. I love the corner location on Ocean Boulevard and Linden. Thanks Modica’s for never disappointing! Happy ❤️ Day!!

First time customer. The service was very good and the staff was welcoming. I had some girlfriends with me and we all enjoyed our sandwiches. The sides were a different matter. I got the chipotle pasta salad. It lacked flavor, it had heat of course although I found myself looking for a salt shaker, no luck😪. The lg meatloaf sammy was HUGE and will eat for 3 meals from it! My friends potato salad was lack luster for her as well. Do better please. I did try the Chai latte and that was Definitely welcomed on a cold afternoon! Over all a very nice experience and the staff did not rush us out, we were there 3 hours catching up with each other.

I had the Pastrami sandwich with provolone cheese as recommended by the young man who took our order. He was very helpful and knew the menu well. It was one of the best pastrami sandwiches Ive ever had. My wife had the combo sandwich which was good too. The counter clerk recommended bread type and toppings which are extremely helpful for first time visitors. Will definitely come back to visit this place and try more on the menu.

Authentic Deli with exceptional Italian food and excellent coffee/ espresso drinks, located in a charming historic building. The sidewalk cafe, post covid, is a nice edition on this LB city street corner.

My first few experiences here were very hit or miss (great food but some inconsistencies eg a smoking Joe with no marinara) but I have since grown to love the sandwiches and small cafe feel. I really like the Smoking Joe and the heart attack Jack.

I typically don't order lasagna from restaurants because the portions usually leave you hungry or disappointed. Not here, I was pleasantly surprised.

Amazing chocolate cake, just be aware that the price on postmates is higher than price in store, so consider going to pick it up yourself!

Good! I had the French dip and it was decent and a nice sized portion (I got extra meat and extra cheese for fun) wish it was more flavorful but I’m not at all mad.

Great selection of dishes - sandwiches, salads, pasta. Outdoor dining is comfortable and good service.

It's unfortunate that this place has the perfect location in Long Beach, yet they treat people like they're ordering gas. It's possible that have fear or uncertainty. Their food is mediocre and don't expect any personable interaction. If you want your Italian dish fix, this place is not it. I recommend to get your order and at least sit outside to enjoy the view. The locals are friendly enough to make up for the bad service.

We ordered the special, which was a pasta with white wine sauce. Unfortunately, it was very bland—the sauce had no flavor, and the chicken tasted just as plain and looked like it came from a can. The sauce also had an unappetizing color. I’d recommend trying somewhere else.

Terrible! Price was twice of what was advertised and sandwich was way too salty. Cannoli was stale.

We were referred here by a friend,he spoke highly of the sandwiches and my husband and I love to enjoy a good sandwich,so we decided to give this place a try for the 1st time.We decided to make it a lunch date and walk over.The atmosphere is cool, first impression I got not too friendly customer service but hey you never know what someone is going through.My husband ordered the Wednesday special the "Heart Attack"as for my self I ordered the "Combo" 16" added provolone and substituted the ham for bacon.The combo comes with salami mind you.We finally got home ready to dig in and I was so excited especially for the Salami because it's my favorite.I soon come to realize it was missing the Salami,so I was really let down and mind you for $25 sandwich and being a new customer you can see my concern on how come they do not double check the order to make sure it is correct.I then called to complain and the lady told me "so what you want to come back and pick up your Salami?", "I said unfortunately I can't I was on lunch and it would be an inconvenience" and she kinda sounded snarky and basically asked "well what else would you like for us to do?" I was stunned I just explained I never been in the situation and figured they would do something to make it right especially because it was they're wrong doing and even more so because of the price and I could only imagine the Salami is the reason why the sandwiches is so expensive even before my add-ons.Just figured they would try to make the the customer happy and it didn't work out that way unfortunately.
