May Mei Restaurant Arcadia Reviews
Came here after new years so they ran out of a lot of the items. Price is very affordable compared to other restaurants around the area. Typical Cantonese casual food, not overly salty. A good place to grab a quick bite. Floor is pretty slippery so be aware.
Good Cantonese home cooked food and good service. We had gai jin-mein, crispy with lots of chicken and green Yu choy, claypot rice with mixed meat and vegetables. Large portion.
A great place for family gathering, and the food is great as well! Favorite is broccoli beef and Kung Pao chicken.
Very good. Small restaurant in a big plaza. The food is really good, all are large portions too. Their fried fish plate is really popular and love the Mongolian beef, cooked to very soft and tender. The service is very fast and the staff are all very friendly. Would definitely come back again.
Good price and good food, big portions, can't wait to try more dishes.
I googled authentic Chinese food and May Mei came up. I ordered orange chicken and garlic green beans. I love the taste, this is the Chinese food I remember in my childhood great quality, hard work and effort in the dish.
The hot pot rice is comforting. The crunchy bottom bits are so good. The French style beef is tender and buttery. I love the beef and egg chow fun.
Love it! As a Cantonese girl from Guangzhou, May Mei does a really great and authentic job on all their Cantonese dishes. The 梅菜扣肉 & 枝竹牛肉煲 are super good! :) Overall, I will say dishes are a little bit oily, but that’s normal for Cantonese dining places. Highly recommended!
If you are going to the mall, arboretum, or the race track, then you have to go to my favorite Chinese restaurant. We live an hour away but still manage to come here several times a year because it is the best, Get the pan fried noodles and more.

Wonderful authentic Chinese cuisine. We had a party of 6 and were able to sample many delectable dishes such as fried filet of flounder, sweet and sour pork, sautéed eggplant and Chinese vegetables.
This was such a no fuss experience. Just good food and no waiters coming over to ask about the food during your meal. Just order and eat in peace. I will add that the rice and soup included in the lunch meals only applies to things that are not soup or rice heavy items on the menu. They are baby friendly and I'll go here again because the food was so good.
Been coming here for nearly 20 years and the food is still so good. I’ve moved back home and found NEW things that I love at this restuarant. If you’re in the area and craving comfort canto food, don’t hesitate. Love their free soup that they offer in person. Love love love this place. ~30 something yo foodie

This local Cantonese restaurant was recommended to me by my friends and they all recommended me to try the hot pot rice. My friend and I had the hot pot rice with pork and vegetables, mixed vegetables, and hot and sour soup. The hot pot rice was excellent but have to say that the vegetables was a little over cooked, but still good. The hot and sour soup was more Cantonese style and good. The mixed vegetables was a disappointment. There were a lot of lunch specials being offered ranging from $ 12 to$20. A lot of the customers were ordering the lunch specials and they looked pretty good I am willing to give it a try next rime.
Authentic Chinese cuisine with Hong Kong-nese taste and dishes. Top choices include deep fried squid w spicy salt, mixed seafood with bean curd hot pot, salted fish with chicken fried rice, and preserved egg with pork porridge (congee), but there's a lot of good stuff here! They can get real busy though, and sometimes the food comes out one at a time.
We’ve been going to May Mei’s for years. Food quality is still very good. However, services have gone downhill and it really depends on who is helping you. I’ve recently went twice in a week with friends. Ended up with two very different experiences. Over lunch, the servers (two guys) were not very friendly and almost feel like we were not welcomed. Another visit late at night. The servers (ladies) were very nice and even though it was near closing time, they were still very prompt and friendly.
Delicious authentic Cantonese dishes at reasonable prices. Assorted preserved meat hot pot rice is well cooked and so is Chow Fun in black bean sauce. However, service is slow and waiters are not very attentive.
December 2022 - Party of 4, Saturday around 11am, no wait! Food/Pricing - $83 total with tax, ordered noodle soup, fried noodles, 2 veggie dishes, and meat. Plenty plenty of leftovers! Portions are generous and food is very yum. Service/Ambiance - Quick and friendly service! Just fyi, they charge 3% for credit card use. Other than that, we'll be back! Parking - Located in a plaza with a grocery store. Usually not too difficult to find parking in the lot.

May Mei is a solid classic Cantonese restaurant that does most dishes very well. Not 100%, but maybe like 95%. I'm very glad to see that it has made it through the Covid crisis, at least up to March of 2022.
We were in the area so decided to get some groceries at Good Fortune market next door and try some take out here. Good Fortune was a bust with most of the shelves empty but the food from May Mei was pretty good. We had the fried fish filet and Singapore noodles and enjoyed both. Pretty good prices too. Really old restaurant but service was efficient.

My order was wrong. Ordered beef brisket with bean curd. Received lots of fatty beef with soft tofu. The menu says beef brisket not beef tendon.

Unfortunately, I had a BAD experience with the service here. I didn’t realize I had no card or cash with me, so I asked if I could pay with Apple Pay. The staff member simply walked past me and said “NO” without offering any help or alternatives. I mentioned I had other payment options like Zelle, but the manager treated me like I was trying to avoid paying, which was both awful and embarrassing. The food itself was good, but service like this really changes the whole experience. I won’t be coming back because of how I was treated. If you decide to give this place a try, make sure you bring a physical card or cash—they don’t accept NFC payments like Apple Pay.

Won’t come back. The food didn’t taste as good as we expected, though it was acceptable. The worst part was the waiters’ attitude. We waited for 20 minutes and had to remind them. The waiters were calling out to each other over our heads, which made the atmosphere very unpleasant. We left a 10% tip because we were not satisfied. A waiter then came over and told me I had to tip at least 15%. He returned the bill and asked me to correct the tip before letting us leave. WTH.

0/5 Order beef with scrambled eggs $13.95 on the menu. Waiter told me dinner need to order rice separately. And we I pay their give me this $18.55 +$1.7rice. When I ask for the menu again, they said it is not this dishes but they could not find any dishes match with 18.55. Also ask me to pay cash and said card will charge $1 dollars xtra. Very rude waitress even use the pen to point to me. They don’t give the regular receipt to avoid the tax. IRS needs to check them. When I ask for the price they got mad and start yelling.
