The Punch Bowl Ardsley Reviews
Brought my Irish uncle here as he wanted an authentic nyc dive bar experience. He got it.
Great bar with some great memories. Can't wait to go back
This is a dive bar in The Bronx. Thing is, it's the real deal. People from all sorts of diversities hang out. It's all good. This place is The Bronx.
Old school dive bar very cool vibe and prices are amazing. If not your style there are other bars on same block so can't loose giving it a shot.
Charming, fun and lovely! Not only are the ambience , food and drinks great, but the staff is so kind and equally jolly. We brought our wedding entourage to the pub after our formal luncheon and the entire Punchbowl crew was so welcoming and accomodating to our marching band of musicians and gaggle of friends/ family. They helped us create a beautiful, memorable afternoon. This pub has so much character and is the perfect place to pop in at any time of day when in Mayfair! We'll be back :)
Great little spot a home from home. Girls behind the bar were great,so welcoming and friendly. Josie in particular Playing some good Irish tunes as well
One of the 3 original oldest bars still remaining in the area. Service was on point. Jake and the other female bar tender took care of my friend and I and made sure our drinks were never empty. Don't want to drink alone? Come visit the Punch Bowl.
If you like old school joints...this is your place. No BS... cool people, cold drinks, great bartenders. Always a good time. Sean is aces!! Paul is the definition of "Bartender". Good times.
I love this Irish Pub. I’m not even Irish and I found the service excellent. Evelin the bartender makes excellent drinks. The environment is very friendly and you can come dressed however you want. You’ll have a fun time here.
Went to this pub after the Roscommon v New York GAA match. Great music & atmosphere in the place. Cool photos & jerseys on the wall. Great pool table there too. Very near subway.
Neighborhood bar with karaoke. Pleasant enough but there is obviously an in-crowe. Come with a group.
Went on a weekday so closing time was a little after 1. It's a nice lil spot. Drinks were very good and they have a pool table (old stool style) winner stay n loser pay for the round (~$2) Lady bartender was nice n chill too. Overall it's a good lil spot to go for a night cap.
You know what? I used to go here back when after hours was still a thing in NYC pre-covid. I'll give Punch Bowl four stars because while I'm not a fan of some of the crowd, I respect their vintage turn of the century decor (as one of the oldest bars in the Bronx) and because they are one of the last of a dying breed...the dice bar. They stood their ground, opened back up and remained standing post Covid, which is kind of sort of still here. For that, they get my kudos 🍻
Great local dive bar. You never know what the company will be like. Good priced drinks. Sometimes bands. Parking it tight but it's right on the 1 line!
This is a neighborhood bar. I enjoyed the place. The prices are reasonable. You can be left alone if you like, and thats nice. The crowd is local, they enjoy each others company, and thats good to see. I wouldn't rate this a dive though....
The bartender said , you need to show me a “nyc id”, and my friend was visiting from Pennsylvania: he did not let us drink and as we were leaving , he said “we will not miss you.” That’s very unprofessional and I never expected that from one of the “greatest bars in river dale.” I will not be coming here ever unless that bartended is gone.
The music is great and so is the atmosphere. It's the drinks that I have a problem with. My wife & I like to drink Bacardi with cranberry. The problem with that is that it's NOT Bacardi! I know my liquor and I know for a fact that their Bacardi isn't really Bacardi! And if that's with Bacardi, most likely, ALL their liquor is FAKE! It's a shame that some bars still do that till this day! I will no longer spend my money here and I will take my friends with me to a bar that serves what you're paying for! Back to The Liffy's I go where the Bacardi is real, and so is the rest of the liquor! If I could, I would rate this place a zero! No stars!
