Ostatua Areso Reviews
No hacen reservas.
June, our waitress, is fantastic and very friendly. She treated us wonderfully and was very polite. A truly excellent place, and we're eager to return.
The perfect set menu. I had white beans with cod, which were amazing. And for my main course, pork tenderloin with potatoes. For dessert, yogurt with jam. I'd definitely be back. Plus, there are lots of other options. The only thing is, it's best to book in advance because it gets really busy during the week.
We arrived without a reservation around 3 pm and were seated immediately; they have a spacious dining room. We ordered the set lunch menu and enjoyed a spectacular piquillo pepper salad and pinto beans. For our main courses, we had turbot and hake, and both were excellent. Dessert was homemade yogurt and tiramisu, both very tasty. Needless to say, it's a varied menu at a very reasonable price with excellent service. We will definitely return.
It had been a long time since we'd seen such excellent organization in a restaurant. The staff was incredibly efficient and friendly, both the older and younger ones—kudos to whoever taught them the trade! The menu was varied, and they even had some dishes that weren't listed on the printed menu. One drawback was that the prices weren't printed on the menu. It cost €17.50 (coffees not included). The Basque dessert "Goxua" was a standout—it was delicious, as was the fish soup—both excellent.
I stopped by chance on my way back to Madrid. I was running a little late, but they were very kind and made room for me to eat. The menu is spectacular, and considering the price, it's unbeatable. I had Tolosa beans served in a clay pot, which I couldn't finish (I left feeling sad that I couldn't take them home in a Tupperware container). For my main course, I had rockfish, infinitely better than most of the fish you get in restaurants that cost €40-50 per serving. The torrijas (Spanish-style French toast) for dessert were delicious. The only downside is that I don't know how I'm going to get back to Madrid now! 😂😂😂
Called in for Lunch, place jammed and got the last table for two. Excellent food, fresh and delicious. A perfect place to sample local food at its best.
A very good traditional restaurant for lunch. It's very spacious, but you need to book. The staff is very friendly, as is the quality of the food. I recommend the set menu, as it's generous in quantity and very varied, all homemade. The croquettes and salad as a starter are very good, followed by the hake and the perfectly cooked meat, accompanied by house wine. For dessert, there's a wide variety; I recommend the rice pudding and flan. We'll definitely be back.
Delicious food. Buzzing place. Great price
We just arrived for a overnight stay in the city and decided to go out for a nice Spanish dinner. What a positive surprise!!! First of all the service… Very attentive and pleasant waiter and waitress who gently explained how the different rooms in the restaurant are structured and what dishes are served at those different rooms. We then selected the “Restaurant” menu but as we wanted to try different dishes the waiter gently offered to split the 3 different selections for 3 persons in a small 3 dish menu, which turned to be extremely tasty allowing us to have the best experience out of their menu. I can only recommend this restaurant… Service was great and food was unbelievably delicious… We had the Mixed Salad first, then the meat croquettes, Merluza fish, Meat and to finalize the Gouxa dessert…
Good price for good food! A lot of food, you will not leave there hungry. Staff very friendly
Bloody good food...
Trato excelente.
One of the best marmitakos I've tried in years. The monkfish and prawn salad was also very good. The burger was good but overcooked. The natural yogurt with jam was exquisite. Excellent service. The only thing they should watch out for is the flies... otherwise, it's a good place to eat. Parking nearby is easy.
Best place in the village
The restaurant is rustic and cozy, and the staff was very friendly. We ordered a salad of piquillo peppers, caramelized onions, and tuna, which was offered off the menu, and we loved it. But that's all the good things we can say...and it's a shame because we're sure they can do better. The oxtail stew was a bit undercooked; it was noticeable because the meat didn't fall off the bone properly, and the sauce lacked flavor. The same thing happened with the entrecote; it was cooked perfectly, but tough and lacking flavor.
Very bad. We ordered a €42 menu, good micuit, good croquettes, warm monkfish and salmon salad, and the composition was strange, and the monkfish tasted of ammonia. For the main course, the menu advertised hake, but there wasn't any. They brought us the same monkfish again, with the same flavor. It went back to the kitchen, and the people at the next table sent it back. Next up, we had defrosted entrecote, which we struggled to finish. For dessert, a decent cheesecake and a mini almond cake were the only ice cream on offer. Total: €84. I certainly wouldn't recommend it or return.
