We went for suckling pig and it was spectacular. I was already familiar with it because we always go to Las Cubas whenever we want suckling pig. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere was great. It was packed, as always. There must be a reason for that. My opinion is excellent. Bravo to them!
We went with the clear intention of having suckling pig with a mixed salad, and we loved it. For dessert, we had curd with honey. It was delicious and not too heavy. María is lovely and very attentive. The place was quiet, considering it was a Tuesday in January, after 3 pm. I imagine it's incredibly noisy on weekends.
A very good restaurant for a daytime lunch and a relaxing meal. Reservations are recommended on weekends. Any type of meat or fish is cooked in a wood-fired oven, and there's a good wine list. The desserts are homemade, including leche frita (fried milk) or ponche segoviano (segavian punch).
It's a delight to stop for a meal there. Even though we can't pair it with a good wine while traveling, the roast lamb is so exquisite that we always try to coordinate our travel schedule with a meal at this grill. The service is also excellent. I love it.
Beautiful restaurant with a fantastic service and delicious food. If you are around the area, don't miss it!
It's the first time I've stopped in Arévalo to eat. We were coming from León, it was on our way, and we made a great choice with the place. The garlic shrimp was very good, and the roast suckling pig was delicious, cooked to perfection. I was able to bring my Yorkshire Terrier, after asking beforehand of course, and they told me that if she was small and didn't bother anyone, there wouldn't be a problem.
This place is a blast for lovers of tradition and classics. The atmosphere is very nice, and it tastefully maintains the essence of the old world. The food is sublime—the wood-fired tostón is a true luxury—and the staff is very attentive. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the food. We will definitely return.
We traveled from Madrid specifically for lunch, round trip. The telephone service for our reservation was impeccable. A limited menu featuring the house specialties: suckling pig, lamb, three meat options and two fish options (hake and cod), two stewed dishes, and several starters, so we found the food very fresh and cooked to order. The desserts were homemade, classic, and correct. The service was very professional. I don't usually like pork, so I had cod. The rest went exclusively for suckling pig. They rate it as excellent; few places know how to prepare it. We will return and I highly recommend it.
This is the best place on Earth to eat suckking pig (cochinillo). The lamb sweetbread (mollejas de cordero) are really good too. Reserve in advance.
The suckling pig was exquisite. The waiter who served us was quite serious and curt. The manager was much friendlier. The dining room is small, with a Castilian style, sober and austere (I think they have another restaurant across the street, which I don't know what it's like).
Two of us visited on Thursday, November 13, 2025. We made the reservation in person that same morning for suckling pig at 2:30 pm and had no problem getting it, plus we received friendly and courteous service. At the appointed time, we arrived for lunch and ordered two portions of roast suckling pig along with a salad for two people. Our order was served immediately: two hind legs that were outstanding. I must say that the salad wasn't quite up to par with the suckling pig, but it did the job of "enhancing" the roast. It's also worth noting that the price listed on the menu is for the salad per person. For drinks, we had a beer and a soft drink, and for dessert, we ordered ponche segoviano, a typical local sweet, and two coffees. The total price was €87.10. The quality/price ratio is good.
Ten of us went for a suckling pig, each with three portions of potatoes and four of salad. The star of the show, the suckling pig, was spectacular—very flavorful and delicious. The potatoes were described as top-notch, and they were good, but we all expected more. The desserts were decent; the fried milk and the cheesecake were very popular, but the pine nut tart, which wasn't on the menu, was just okay. I've given the ambiance three stars because we were cold during the meal, even though the oven was right behind us, and there was a strong smell of something burning. Otherwise, it was a good experience.
We had a reservation for the first seating; you have to arrive before 2:00 p.m. The waiters were extremely attentive and friendly throughout. The food was delicious, the steak well prepared and flavorful, and the croquettes and blood sausage were highly recommended. They didn't have any caña, so the beer is served in a third-sized bottle. We liked it, and since we were with two babies, we felt very comfortable at the table they gave us.
We were going to order, as always, the Castilian soup (very delicious) and then that incredible suckling pig they roast with that delicious, crispy skin (tostón), which, along with the drink and salad, makes a total of approximately €72. The fact is that it was the Arévalo Tostón Days, and for the same price (€36 each), they gave you the same thing plus bread (although we don't usually have it) and a dessert (only the three or four most basic ones from the menu are included), so we went for the Days menu and were greatly disappointed, since they brought you the soup for half a bowl, which is not the case from the a la carte menu, as I could see from the table next to us. The suckling pig portion was also much smaller... and that's how they order it from the kitchen: "two suckling pigs from the Days"... Better, much better to order from the a la carte menu, since for a little more, and only if you want dessert, you get a much better meal. Yes, the service was fast and friendly, as it should be.
A little pricy for what you get. The food was good and you're welcome by the team.
