Thai Texas Arlington Reviews
Great food every visit! Try something new to explore the great tasting food!! And the owner is so friendly and welcoming and helpful if you have questions!
Great food, pad Thai was amazing. The Thai tea was great as well. The employees were as friendly as could be and treated me like family. Definitely recommend and will stop back in next time I'm in the area!
We really love this place! Delicious food, the pad Thai and fried rice is just the best in Texas.
A coworker of mine had been been telling me to give this place a try as we live right around the corner from it. Finally had the chance to bring some family that was in town and everyone seemed to really like their food. I kept it simple and got the pad Thai, it was delicious. We'll be back for sure since we're so close and I'll venture out a little more to try something new next time! Tip to the owners (in my opinion), those pictures in the menu should just be removed. They do not do the food justice. I understand what they were trying to do by giving people a visual of what the popular dishes look like. However the bad image quality, lighting, and distortion from the pictures make the food look less appetizing. Just my two cents! The others in my group agreed as well.
I love Thai Texas!! I have never been disappointed in the food or service here. I usually rotate between the pineapple fried rice, drunken noodle and crispy pad thai. whether we stop in for lunch or pickup take out for dinner, the food and service is always great!
The prices are affordable (especially the lunch specials). My drunken noodle tasted authenticity Thai. With that being said, the portion sizes are just a medium amount, but most dishes are served with a side salad. I got entirely full, but I can see where some might not. Additionally, I really would have liked to order double chicken, but this is the only Thai restaurant I’ve been too that has a prohibition on ordering extra protein to a dish. I’m not altering it or ruining the flavor by adding extra chicken, but maybe that’s what they thought. I would highly recommend this place, but would keep in mind that I might need to get 2 dishes to get full next time.
I've been eating at Thai Texas for years and it has never disappointed. The owner is sweet and produces authentic Thai food, much like what I had in Thailand. Their ingredients are fresh and they know how to make their dishes spicy. Lunch items are $10.99 and include a salad or soup, a spring roll and the dish. Pictured below is Drunken Noodle. The aesthetic is cute - including booths nestled in to Thai Huts and a model Thai river in the middle of the restaurant
Beautiful interior. Love the decor and atmosphere inside. They have all these awards that they’ve earned over the years at the front of the restaurant and at the cash register. We ordered the Texas Thai fried rice level 4 spicy and the Shrimp Pad Thai level 5 spicy. We waited about 15 minutes for our order and ordered to go. The fried rice tasted like curry rice. It was a level 4 but kinda spicy for a 4 (coming from someone who doesn’t eat spicy all that often). It was good. The pad Thai had jumbo shrimp with the tail taken off. There were enough shrimp to go with the noodles. The sauce was plentiful, slightly runny, you can tell that there’s a heavy-handedness in fish sauce but it’s neutralized by either lime juice or something else. I think it’s the best pad Thai in Arlington. We also got a free side of salad with peanut tasting dressing! Came with utensils as well. Worth going. Would come back.
Update 5/31/22: Everything is as tasty as ever but prices have gone up like everywhere else. Lunch specials now start at $9.99 instead of $7.99 as they did last year. This is a great little neighborhood Thai restaurant that's been around for several years. Excellent Shrimp Pad Thai and Yellow Curry Chicken. Be prepared to give them a relative spice level that you want your food. They ask if you want it spicy or mild on the scale from 1 to 5. Heat level 3 is a nice moderate spice, heat level four is pretty doggone spicy, heat level 5 will melt your face! Moderately priced with lunch specials for $7.99.
Amazing tasty food and awesome customer service. Liked the place so much. Whole family enjoyed the time. Inside Deco is cool. A nice Thai feeling with the setup. I would love to go back with more people. Surely try their food. Appetizers were nice. So yummy. My chicken eggplant was mouthwatering. Wifey took plain Thai fried rice and that was great too. Daughter loved her beverage. It was an awesome lunch day out. Try for sure.
Great food. Only issue is that the restaurant is half empty and we were told it would be a 40 minute wait to be seated on a Sunday night at 7pm. Definitely worth going to but avoid the 11-2, and 5-8 time frames if you want to sit down.
Overall it was a good experience. They redecorated. They used to have a water/boat scene in the middle of the restaurant and switched it out with elephants, still cool but I prefer the boat seen. The blue that was used for the water was so pretty. The staff was so friendly. I started with a salad with the yummy dressing, then the fried wontons (best ever in my opinion), I ordered some tom kha (it was so good, stick a straw in it and slurp it down good), and finished up with the Thai basil. It was okay. The middle was warm and the outside of the food was cold. Bit disappointed there. But overall a good experience.
Really good food. We had the chicken satay for appetizers, Crispy Chicken Phad Thai, and Shrimp Red Curry along with Thai Ice Tea. Service was a little slow but really, enjoyed not being rushed. They seem to do a brisk take out business. Had spiciness at 2 * - not spicy at all. I like spicy but my teen son doesn't. I would get 4* next time for me.
First time trying and last time. I ordered Thai garlic shrimp and although the flavor was good, the portion was extremely small. The vegetables were hard needed to cook longer and there was large pieces of garlic throughout. The shrimp were a good size. Unfortunately for $16 I expect a little more food as similar restaurants offer.
Thai Texas use to be our go-to Thai restaurant. However, over the past several years we’ve been consistently disappointment. The quality and taste of food isn’t as good as it used to be, the portion sizes shrink regularly, and the owner lacks customer service skills. We constantly have blamed the decline on the after effects of the pandemic and the state of the economy. However, we are done trying to make excuses for this place. Our family all agreed our last visit was bad enough that we won’t go back, and we’ve been customers for over 10 years.
I had a really bad experience this last weekend, the food took a while, I had to get up to ask for plates for the entries. Later they brought the soup and no plates again, I had to ask for them to warm the soup again, afterwards they brought the food and and the same issue. My husband was so upset and the service was terrible. Never again for us.
We just got food from here and I almost feel like I just ate something like this!!! This is what just came out of a bite of my chicken curry. I’ve never in my life had this happen. I saw the reviews and thought it would be good to try. 😳😭. I’m not sure who I need to call but I will be find out tomorrow
