The Rose Den Arverne Reviews
I love this bar. The food ??! SO GOOD ! And the kitchen is open til 2am ! Those chefs definitely know their way around a pot and spatula I’ll tell you that! Only thing I can say is I wish they had a larger variety of drink options but one thing about Kat she’s going to improvise and make an amazing drink regardless! There’s another guy that works there I forget his name but he’s also super nice and chill. Definitely making my way back again and again !
Without question, this is my favorite bar in the borough!! Run by a local with decades of experience on both sides of the bar, this is a great place to have a drink and a conversation. There are occasional events like comedy and live music, but it's typically a quiet bar for adults. The hours are consistent, something very uncommon for businesses in this area. It's open every day except Tuesday, year-round. It's not just for the summer ferry crowd. The food is absolutely spectacular! Honestly, this place has some of the best food at some of the best prices in New York City. The lobster roll is definitely THE BEST lobster roll you will find south of Rhode Island. Nothing in the city or the Hamptons is comparable. Stop here before you take the A-Train home!

I've been waiting for this kind of place to come to Rockaway. It's what it needed. Truly a gem. B116th Rockaway just got bumped up with this place. Welcoming atmosphere, ambiance perfect, excellent choice of menu and the drinks keep flowing. Great live music too or DJ. I enjoy having my night caps here and a place to relax. All the best to Kat @ The Rose Den 🌹. Well done.
AMAZING jazz afternoon, nice dinner and chill drinks, staff was nice and kind, menu is short and written fresh on a chalk board. Band was done by 10pm. Totally recommend if in the area.
I always say The Rose Den is secretly Rockaway’s best restaurant! The food is delicious, the drinks are great and very reasonable priced, they have all types of live music and the patrons are diverse and fun to talk to. Don’t miss out on this hidden gem!
I come here often because I really enjoy the atmosphere. The owner/bartender is a sweetheart and an amazing host! Very warm and inviting vibes, "bespoke cocktails" (I learned this here) One of the best dives in the neighborhood for sure.
Kat was a great host and we had a wonderful time food was delicious, this is a gem on the crown of Rockaway beach!
This place is great the food is always on point and the owner Katherine could not be any nicer.
The shrimp tacos are the best i ever had. Bartender/ owner so sweet. You will not disappointed

Great Spot 😁😎🤤🍺
Love this place!!
This place has the right ambiance. It's cozy, it's quirky, it's laid back and the bar tenders are sublime. And the only place in Rockaway that opens late.

Rose Den keeps trying to get my review taken down. The truth hurts. They know a collective complaint could kick them out of business and leave them in debt. They know their whole business depends on concert-style music performances that violate the law, and they’re afraid local residents might take extra steps to enforce it. Please give my review a like and post your own. *** They routinely play music at volumes that exceed NYC noise codes, making it impossible for nearby residents—like my young child and our neighbors—to sleep. Repeated complaints haven’t helped. It’s clear management ignores both the law and the community. Local enforcement isn’t much better: police rarely respond, and the Department of Environmental Protection takes months to follow up. If you’re struggling with this, your best option is to contact the State Liquor Authority (alcohol license) and NYPD (speaker license) about the bar’s repeated violations. We’re moving soon, but I hope the area eventually gets relief from these ongoing disruptions. Until then, I’d advise others to avoid this place. --- P.S. If this review sounds unusually restrained, it’s because detailed criticism sometimes gets flagged. But any parent with a sleepless toddler will understand the frustration when authorities say their hands are tied.
