Bai Sushi Astoria Reviews
Such a cozy restaurant with amazing atmosphere. The server was incredibly kind and the service was perfect. The food was delicious.I’m really glad I chose to come here today!🫶🏻
First time I have tried sushi and it was absolutely amazing. Service and atmosphere was very cozy. Thank you !!
I ordered takeout from here for the first time last week. We got the Chef Special II and some assorted ala carte sushi pieces. We were blown away by the quality of the fish. The salmon was bright red with dense layers of fat, all the fish in the chef special tastes incredible, probably some of the highest quality fish I've had. Even some fancier omakase places don't compare. The fatty yellow tail, sake toro, and tuna toro were all insaney delicious. After ordering takeout, I've went in person twice last week with friends to pair this delicious fish with a cold Asahi and I was not disappointed (I only wish they had it on draft) They unfortunately didn't have any fatty tuna left, but everything else made up for that. The fluke, red snapper, white tuna, yellowtail were all so good The service staff were kind and attentive and chefs were excellent. I'd love to see a lightly torched version of the salmon toro one day. This spot will definitely be a regular stop for me. I also want to try the okonomiyaki next time.
Love the atmosphere and coziness of the place! A little gem we passed by in Astoria, truly deserve some more attention. Their Spicy Crunch Roll was fresh and perfectly seasoned, and my favorite, the Rainbow Roll with that just melt-in-your-mouth salmon tuna combo! Also, shoutout to the wonderful server, Michelle, for just being so helpful and bringing in the welcoming vibes. Her recommendations were spot on! Would def come back again to try some more! 😋
Been frequenting Bai Sushi for 30 years myself and my father has been coming here since they first opened. One of, if not the oldest, sushi restaurants in Astoria. Bai is a great restaurant because it has the best quality sushi for the price. Always rely on them for sashimi platters for parties.
The food was hot and fresh. The server was polite. My son enjoyed his food too. Will go back
Great vibes here! Anytime I’m in the area I stop here.I give the sushi a 10/10 and I am very picky with sushi. Great service as well everyone is super friendly!!
this little sushi place is kind of a hidden gem. they serve quality sushi at a reasonable price. this place is perfect for when you’re craving sushi or if you want to have a lowkey date spot. we tried their nigiris which were so good, a basic roll and a specialty roll. and we will definitely try to be back soon!
Best hole in the wall in Astoria. Go once a week. Whenever I try other sushi from other places it never hits the same as this. Their spicy mayo pairs perfectly with their fish. No matter what I order I’m never disappointed. Salmon is usually my way to go and the udon is good too.
By far the best restaurant in the world! This is my families go to. We’ve been coming here for 12 years now almost every week. The staff are always super nice and welcoming and not just because they know us but because they are amazing people! I always get the salmon lover w miso soup or the samba roll, they never disappoint! Another great option is the udon soup! Delicious! Will always love you guys 💗
They have no respect to people who’s working. These people are delivery guys and they make them to wait 20-30 min. These people don’t get hourly payment. They get payment per orders and for this restaurant it’s normal to steal from workers and give customers orders. They forget these people are waiting for customers orders too. That was a horrible experience. I gave 5 star because they were polite. They are polite and good people but it doesn’t mean you can steal people time. Don’t do it please
This is a hidden gem in Astoria, I love the place is such a beautiful small restaurant, the vibe is so warm and friendly. The staff is welcoming, the service is great and helpful. The food was so delicious, the sushi is fresh, the portions are so good and the lunch specials have various options. I loved it, one of my favorite places ✨
solid sushi spot! got the lunch special which was really good - 4 pc sashimi, 4pc california roll and we got a titanic roll to split. All solid. The inside is a little small and quiet so the whole restaurant will hear your convo haha - but otherwise very friendly and calm and clean inside.
Update February 2025- the restaurant was kind enough to offer me to give them another try. I’m happy to report they really do care about the quality and customer experience. They did address the issue with the rice and it is much improved! If you are in Astoria, definitely stop in to try them! Thank you. Not sure what happened. This used to be my favorite spot for 2 years straight. The quality has gone way downhill. I thought it was a fluke at first but I ordered a few more times and the quality kept falling. The rice is just too wet. The rolls fall apart before you can get them in your mouth. The rolls are also messy and it seems they have used less and less fish maybe to cut costs? This place is definitely more pricey than many in the area but I paid more for the quality and it’s just not there anymore sadly. I probably won’t be going back, sad to say.
Solid sushi place that's not too far from my apartment. Nothing fancy or anything that knocked my socks off, but we were satisfied. They get bonus points from me for having a veggie roll on their menu that includes tofu in it (I appreciate being able to get a little protein in a vegetarian roll). Boyfriend was satisfied with his tuna avocado and salmon cucumber rolls (the latter of which was not on the menu but they happily made upon request). Our server was very nice while taking our orders, and refilled our glasses of water many times. We were there on a slightly earlier side for a Saturday evening, so it wasn't too crowded. The dining area is on the small side - I can imagine it being quite cramped when full.
It was a typically good sushi, nothing extraordinary but nothing horrible either. I enjoyed it. I ordered a spicy crunch roll to be picked up online and didn’t expect that I still had to wait to pick it up even after giving them an ample amount of time to prepare my order. I would come back to try the other items on their menu.
