Pita Hot Astoria Reviews
This is one of the best kind of hole in the wall places that make me love living in NYC. Not a chain. Not fancy. Not expensive. The food is great, fresh, filling, and the staff are always so friendly to everyone. Love the Arabic music. Glad to share a neighborhood with this place.
My new favorite spot in the neighborhood! Definitely a hidden gem- warm, friendly service and incredible food, great prices. The hummus babaghanoush falafel pita was to die for!
I came here with my boyfriend late on a cold night. Immediately we were welcomed by the owner with a sample of two soups lentil and harira. Harira soup was amazing, a flavor bomb! We picked Lamb in a pita and Middle Eastern meat combo. The meat was so fresh, so juicy so perfectly seasoned we couldn't get enough. All the veggies that were served with it were so fresh, the baba ghanoush, Tahini, hummus and eggplant in tomato sauce were just making the platter so diverse you want to keep coming back for more. Samosas were so flaky, little spicy but in the best way! Baklava was so crunchy! Ive never had this fresh and crunchy of a baklava before. Im coming back for more! Highly recommend it! And they are open late!
INSANELY GOOD im gonna come back i almost came back for dinner this same day the spiciness was good everything was so flavorful together best food i had the last 6 months. Pita is soft and chewy inside everythings so juicy im salivating while writing this The owner was so nice tooooo
Wow What a great spot and the price is unbeatable. I highly recommend coming to this spot. I also highly recommend getting the spinach pie. It was delicious. My friend and I got the platter dishes, the chicken and the lamb. The lamb was out of this world. The cooks and the staff were very friendly as well. I will say this is more of a takeout place than a sitdown place as there’s only one table to sit down. I was able to sit down because no one was there, but very, very good food. I recommend sitting down to eat it because of the freshness. But you can always take out. You should 100% check out this spot if you are in Queens
I love their pita sandwiches. The flavors stand out compared to other kebab places around here. I like to take my friends here even if there are places closer than here for me. Also the staff and owner are very friendly and welcoming. Also, today I noticed how they're making falafel from scratch! Food made with great love right there.
This is the best food in Astoria!!! I eat here for lunch quite literally every day. Every single thing on the menu is delectable. Khaled and everyone else working here are amazing, and the food is unbeatable. 1000/10!
Pita Hot in Astoria is an absolute gem! I got the mix shawarma sandwich, and it was honestly one of the best I’ve had anywhere in Queens. The flavor was on point — perfectly seasoned meat, just the right amount of sauce, and everything blended together beautifully. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients — the bread was super fresh, soft, and warm, and the sandwich was packed with flavor from start to finish. It’s one of those meals that just hits the spot every time. I could seriously eat this every day if I could. If you’re in Astoria and craving authentic shawarma or Mediterranean food, Pita Hot is 100% worth checking out. Fresh, flavorful, and consistent — definitely a go-to spot!
Always wanted to try this spot. It's halal. We got the chicken and lamb platter, $14 and pita bread on the side and soda cans. Atmosphere inside is tight, don't recall any seats inside. 2-3 outside dining seats which was cool. I can tell they're popular. Very humble and friendly customer service. The platter was perfect to share. Pita bread nice and warm and soft. This felt very clean to eat and healthy and guilt free to dieting. I would make the walk here when craving halal food. Might just be my new go to spot. Thx for dinner bae this was so good.
Ended up here by accident and I'm SO glad. Tiny local place with outdoor seating and outstanding Middle Eastern food. I got the Jerusalem Falafel Sandwich and a hibiscus lemonade. The pita was stuffed to the gills with veggies, herbs, spices, falafel, sauce and EXPLODING with flavor. The cook was super warm and nice, the lemonade was great, it smells good and even has good music. I see why the reviews are so good. I'm adding mine. Awesome.
The place is very small and crowded with things, but don’t get caught with the appearance. If you want to eat a delicious, full of flavor middle eastern meal or sandwiches, this is the place. For dessert I had a baklava which it was so yummy and moist that I couldn’t stop eating the whole box. I would 100% recommend it to a friend.
Weird online ordering. Made me add extra stuff to the order to place the order and didn't even see it in the food (it cost .50 for the extras, so it felt like i was being charged a .50 cent fee just to get to the next page.) Still don't really know what I ordered since the meat wasn't shown in some of the options but I just ran with it. The items weren't marked, either. Super weird. But Whatever it was , was superb. Absolutely breathtaking. Hopefully whatever i got wil be the same thing when i order again. Who knows! But i will be trying it again.
Good, attentive, friendly service overall. There were two gentlemen there, one was of rather limited english, tried however to prove service as best as he could. Both interchanged in their interactions with the customers, one seemed to be doing most of the cooking. Cozy, small place, more geared towards take out, one can sit in however, like the four of us did. The food was good, tasty, more than enough portion-wise, not so much a "wow factor", more like solid, dependable fare. Will drop by again in opportune time and circumstance.
Pita Hot in Astoria was an average experience for me. When you first walk in, you’re immediately overwhelmed by the clutter—it feels a bit chaotic with things scattered everywhere, which made the atmosphere less welcoming. The food was okay, but nothing that stood out or made me want to return. However, the portions were generous, so you definitely get a lot of food for your money. While the quantity was great, the overall quality just didn’t impress. It’s decent for a quick bite, but there are better options in the area.
Is the 4.7 in the room with us? I ordered based on the pictures, and what I got looked like it came from a different restaurant. They charge $15 for a platter of food that doesn't justify that price. All the food needed seasoning as well. The lamb was the only thing that was solid. The pita was sooooo thin. Just a disappointment overall. .
