Club Car Auburn Reviews
We stopped for lunch here and really enjoyed it! It has a night club vibe and looks like a place for entertainment but don’t think they serve just bar food. I got the goat cheese sandwich with zucchini fries and it was so good. We also ordered the baked brie appetizer and it was like Christmas in your mouth. 🤤 service was great too.
UPDATE! Changing my one star below to a five star! My Sister and I went back on a Tuesday this time instead of a Friday. Brenda was our server this time and was fantastic. We tipped 30% ($15 on $50 check). Lesson learned here is two old ladies should not go there on a Friday for lunch, luckily we found a backup for Fridays. 1 STAR :Friday couple weeks back tried to get lunch with my sister. We we knew exactly what we wanted and ordered drinks and food immediately. We are both in our '60s and I guess our waitress figured because we were two old ladies we weren't worth her time (AKA TIP) 15 minutes and no drinks. I followed up and I got a very snarky "of course" with a condescending tone and smile . Another 10 minutes and still no Drinks or food. We ended up walking out after seeing people that came in after us getting served . Usually this is a great place for service and the food is good but this girl was horrible. As former servers we tip very well (25%+) unless server is horrible. This was a clear-cut judgment of us based on our age. So sad.
Great experience, party of 5 service was great. Our favorite was artichokes dip with fresh potatoe chips. Service was fast friendly food was hot and served together. Full bar with bartender. Restaurants has the old to small town feeling with great menu choices. Highly recommend fun experience shopping downtown Auburn and then enjoying a nice meal during the holidays. Happy New Year to all! Sincerely Eileen Bonner American River Notary Mobile Services
My wife, and I shared the crab stuffed salmon, and the ribeye with brandy peppercorn sauce. Both were amazing, the service was great, live music was going and the entire experience was great. Thumbs up from us 👍
Rare night that it was actually not busy. No waiting. Food delicious as always. Pear salad with chicken for me, burger for my husband. Really enjoyed our night and will be happy to return even on a busier night.
First time here, and we will definitely be coming back. I enjoyed the prime rib and the wife a hamburger. We enjoyed the atmosphere, service was great, loved the home made potatoes chips. There was a group playing and they played all our requests. We were so full we got dessert to go. Thank you for a nice evening.
We had a great experience and I had the French Dip and it was absolutely delicious and tender. Mike had the Halibut and enjoyed it as well, but he really loved the French Dip as well and ate my other half. The music was awesome. They had a very young band but really got the crowd dancing and entertained. They sounded really good. It was a Friday night so quite busy and a bit noisy, but we both enjoyed our dinner and the music. I am sure on midweek evenings it is not quite as busy. Highly recommend.
We found out this place from some close friends of ours. We had been talking about coming for months and were finally able to come in. I ordered the pear and blue cheese salad and added steak. It was a great combination of flavors and the steak was cooked perfectly. We will definitely be back.
Fun slightly upscale restaurant and bar with a nice layout and live music. I never expected the food here to be as amazing as it is, I am absolutely blown away with every meal I have had here yet! The filet and prime rib are phenomenal, the mashed potatoes are packed with flavor, and the veggies are not overcooked and still have a slight crunch instead of mushy. Ask for Chelsea, she's great!😊
I forgot to take pic of food!!!! Coconut Shrimp and mushroom burger were delish. Took half home and it was so good as a leftover. Place is dark unless you're by window at front. Nostalgic feel to it which I loved. Service was somewhat slow at lunchtime, perhaps needed more help. The food was worth it and it ended up being a nice midway point for a birthday lunch visit. I would definitely go back when in the area. Lots of little unique shops on the street, so you could spend a full day if you wanted.
Took a while to get our drinks that were just Arnold Palmer's. Had to ask for them a couple times. Baked brie with cherries was amazing. Sweet potato fries are big and thick so do not expect the skinny crunchier ones. My partner had scallops and said they were very good. It can get noisy so just know that going in. Has great parking.
Last Saturday, we had dinner at The Club Car, a bustling, energetic spot that serves American-style comfort food with a touch of sophistication. It’s clearly a local favorite, packed with energy, music, and conversation. The evening was festive with a live band performing, and the place was hopping. While the lively ambiance made for a fun night out, it also made it difficult to have a conversation — something to keep in mind if you're looking for a quieter setting. My girlfriend and I shared the fried calamari to start — crisp and satisfying. For the main course, I ordered the ribeye steak with a brandy peppercorn sauce, paired with mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables including asparagus and squash (as shown in the photo). The steak was cooked well and flavorful, the sauce complemented it perfectly, and the potatoes were creamy and delicious. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meals, and the kitchen turned out great dishes despite how busy it was. Despite the crowd, our server was attentive and courteous. Drinks came quickly, and the timing of the courses was handled smoothly — no long waits, which was impressive for a packed Saturday night. We’d definitely go back to The Club Car, especially for the food and upbeat vibe — but maybe for a night when we’re more in the mood for music than mingling. If you go, try the ribeye — it hit the spot.
Went here with friends for a lively atmosphere and dinner. And were served a mixed plate of items for me to review. Food: Calamari was a ok (too much coating for my taste, but everyone else seemed ok with it); Dinners ordered were very tasty and well prepared; Drinks were very tasty and well prepared. Service was very so-so. Our server missed our salad orders completely, and when it was pointed out, offered a dessert instead, which was nice. But we couldn't get her attention when we needed or wanted something; had to ask for refills on our beverages, or more ice for the iced tea...kinda basic service. When it was time to pay, we had to wait over 10 minutes for the bill and then 15 to pay. She wouldn't look at us. We were not upset at the lack of salad, and asked to simply remove it from the bill. Didn't think she was too busy as lots of servers were standing around between tasks. So that was relaxed. Weren't sure what the challenge was, but were off-put by the lack of service.
1st time visitor! Appeared to be an older crowd. Trendy decor & design. Bands/live music on weekends. New to area, we randomly picked out this establishment. We stopped in on a Friday night 🌙 6pm-ish. We first went to the bar, and there was only 1 seat available . At the bar & upon arrival, we were greeted by numerous staff members, but it still took a while to order drinks. Drinks were decent, nothing special, although they provide a full drink menu with many options. One in our party of 3 sat while waiting for more seating to come available. Unfortunately, after an hour, it never happened 😕 so we requested a table. There were plenty of tables available. 2 in our party ordered meals while one ordered an app with soup 🍲 none of us had any problems or praises regarding prep, appearance, or taste of food. The menu does seem to provide a "fancier" description of what seems to be a step above bar food. While there were lots plenty of staff, working service is slow and appears to be that everyone has a job and no one goes above and beyond nor helps customers not assigned to them. They'll walk by an empty glass 10 times if that's not their assigned area. While waiting for what seemed an excessive amount of time for what ended up being "bar food," we couldn't help but notice the ceiling above our table and the table next to ours. The dust was so unbelievably bad hanging from light fixtures & some areas of ceiling that dust 🤧 dust was streaming down! To the point we kept looking up, waiting for it to fall on us. It was beyond bad. Pictures don't do it justice of how terrible it was. After consuming some of our food, we wrapped it up to bring home for my dogs who did enjoy it! At our table we could hear the live music but couldn't see it, so we got up and watched the band for a short time. I'm assuming the live music is more for people dining or at the bar since there is no area designated for just listening, watching, or dancing, etc.. We were standing near the bar and were treated as more of a nuisance than just guests enjoying music 🎶 after approximately 15-20 min. we just left to get out of the way.
Horrible food and worst service. 😫 I ate here 10 years ago and it was awful. No fresh ingredients. Fast forward and I gave them another try and it was worse than ever. The food did not match the online description or photos. I totally got burned with this to go order. For example, on the caesar salad shown in the photo the lettuce was pale due to being old and smelled bad. For the pear and blue cheese salad the pears were rock hard with no flavor and the dressing was pure oil and no herbs or spices. The chinese chicken salad also shown had 5 mandarin orange slices and few if any other toppings, very different from the online photos! The staff and kitchen seem to take no pride in their work. This must mean the managers and owners likewise don't care? With no manager on site, the staff simply hung up when I reported issues with my to go order. Childish! If you are a local or visitor to our lovely town, I suggest you try Pho Tasty or Auburn Alehouse, which have consistently good food.
