Baguette et Chocolat Austin Reviews
I am a regular visitor to this place and you can't go wrong with anything you pick on the menu. Absolutely delicious and one of a kind place for authentic French pastries and many other things. Highly recommend going here before 9:30 am on weekends if you want to pick up pastries since they are in high demand and most of them could get over by 10:30 . :-)
We got brunch at out favorite place today and we were lucky that there was a table free outside so we could eat there. Everything is good, so it was hard to pick, but we went for quiches today. So good! And for dessert we got the vanilla flan with plum and the super fresh and delicious lemon meringue. We couldn’t help ourselves and had to bring some almond pain au chocolat for later as well as some of the amazing macarons that they have. When you go, make sure to come early because everything sells out really quickly.
The best latte Austin has to offer! The croissant was amazing as well. Love the atmosphere! Complainers about wait time should stick to drive thru since they obviously lack appreciation for the process of making REAL delicious food!!!
Phenomenal little shop with fantastic baked goods and delicious food, all made fresh. The people are always friendly and smiling. Definitely worth the stop if you're in the neighborhood, or the trip if you're not.
The Baguette et Chocolat authentic French Artisan bakery and fine pastry shop in Bee Cave is fantastic! They have an excellent selection of fresh bakery and pastry items. I highly recommend any of their breads and delicious macaroons. The order ahead and curbside pickup are very convenient to insure your order is fresh and ready to go when you arrive.
Every time we come here we have a wonderful experience. The owner goes above and beyond to help make your food and time the upmost importance. This place has wonderful pastries, coffee, macarons and various other options and they are all excellent. Please stop by if you are nearby or even to take a drive it is worth it
Five stars for the chocolate croissant and almond croissant. I wish I took a photo, but we devoured them. We were visiting from out of town for an event and tried their croissants and they are the best I have ever tasted. The owner or the baker seemed very nice and welcoming. I would love to go back if I could one day.
Everything is awesome. From their croissants with turkey and cheese and a scrambled egg to their Nicoise salad to their pastries. Also, the baguettes taste like they do in France. Highly recommended. :-)
Great Banh Mi! Very fresh and great taste. Nice to be able to sit outside! Will come back anytime if I’m in the Austin area!
About 6 years ago a friend introduced me to Baguette At Chocolat. Raisin rolls turned to be my addiction. I still love them after so many years. But everything there is amazing! Today I stopped by to get a few gifts for my clients. The lady who took care of me was so sweet and friendly! My clients loved my goodies I brought them. Thank you for keeping a good work!
The food is outstanding. The patisseries honestly are better than we had when we lived in Switzerland and went to France every Sunday for bread and pastries at a locally renowned bakery. The croissants are light, crispy and not too dense or buttery, the croque madame is the best I have ever had... I could go on and on. All of the food is incredibly good, it's not by chance that they are busy from open to close every day!
I’ve been here over 6 times and I’ve never had a bad meal, pastry, or experience. The crepes and pastries are amazing! My favorite item right now is the hot panini - it’s so good!! I love their lattes as well. I wish they had more vegetarian + vegan options but I’ll gladly still eat here. One of the best restaurants in Lakeway, for sure.
Authentic French bakery in the heart of Bee Caves. Very healthy, tasty and unique for the area! It is normally busy, so few minute wait in line is expected (plus they are making the food right then ) It is well worth the wait, the quality is on point. You can tell the food is fresh and so are the ingredients, plus the bread is pretty amazing all on its own. I have never been to France, but this place makes me feel like I have!
I've visited this small, local bakery twice and have thoroughly enjoyed the food both times. From a crustless salmon quiche to a crispy apple pastry to fabulous whole wheat sourdough bread. The service was friendly, including no hesitation to provide water for my dog (we were enjoying the outdoor seating one weekend morning). One warning -- depending on the day and time you arrive, there may be a line, but you do get to enjoy looking at the pastry selection while you wait (which can be dangerous of course). As for prices, yes, not cheap, but less or the same as other popular coffee and pastry shops.
First time I've ever been and I loved it. Looking forward to going back so I can try other menu items. I started with the quiche lorraine of course and it was delicious. Service was faster then they said it would be. I got there at 11:15 and there was a line so manage your expectations. They have a beautiful selection of patisseries; save room for dessert!
My favorite cafe and bakery! Everything is delicious, fresh and very high quality. The people who work here are lovely and kind. Only wish I lived closer so I could go more often. Our family favorites are the Brie sandwiches, macaron of course, chaussons aux pommes, and the pain au chocolat; but truly every single thing is delicious.
Amazing, quick service! Very authentic and will the sandwiches are made to order! Also, if you order drinks and food online, they wait until pick up to make them so you don't get a watery drink!!!
We have been here a number of times and ordered many of their sandwiches and baguette. The bread is about as French as it gets. Perfectly baked, nice crust and sweet dough. Sandwiches are simple but absolutely delicious - a few quality ingredients and balanced with a bit of fat - either EVOO or brie. The croquette monsieur and croquette madame are also superb. Take your time here as they make everything to order. If you just want to order a baguette to go, they have a small counter where you don't have to wait too long. Love this place!
Delicious!! We got here at 7:20 this morning and there was already a line. The wait wasn’t too bad though - took about 15 minutes to get through the line. The wait was well worth it! The breakfast sandwich and croque monsieur were both amazing. We will be back!
Managed to obtain a couple of their Carmel rolls the other day. These are the first true Carmel rolls I have found in the Austin area. No cinnamon! Planning to find out when they come out of the oven to pickup a couple of hot ones in the near future. BTW - they don't call them Carmel rolls. I can't remember what they did call them. You will know when you see them.
We hold this little cafe in such high regard, everything is so fresh and delicious from pastries, breads and entrees - it is a family favorite. Perfection. Every time.
Outstanding bakery! Worth every penny, which is great because it takes a whole lot of pennies. Got two breakfast pastries, a coffee, and a lunch sandwich and ended up paying $26. I'd love for this to be my regular stop but I'll have to save it for occasional treats.
Everything here is delightful! Hands down the absolute best quiche lorraine I've EVER had, and the pastries and desserts are delectable, everything we've had is divine. Before Baguette et Chocolat, I never enjoyed macarons; now, I can't NOT get them each visit. My son tried the lemon and exclaimed "Mom! It's like I'm eating a lemon cloud!" It is also run by the best staff - they are all so friendly and we have the best service, even in curbside pickup. Cannot recommend highly enough. *Edited to add the following* How could I forget!? Best croissants anywhere & chocolate mousse like I've never had! There are multiple mousse choices and in one (triple chocolate, maybe?) there is a surprise layer of feuilletine that will fill you with joy. This would be an even longer review if I listed all the amazing things we've tried - I'll just say every bite we've had has been perfect.
Awesome food. Great customer service. Excellent selection.
Holy cow, I need more of this place. Whenever I come to Bee Caves in the future, I'll get all my coffee and pastries here. The staff were very engaging and kind, and their food was incredible.
The best authentic french goods I've ever had in Texas. I love the people, love the atmosphere, and will ALWAYS ALWAYS wait for anything from here. You gotta be patient for food this good and if you're not then you dont deserve it or understand that great finds like this place put a lot of love and time into their food and clearly it's going to be busy since its so delicious!!
Wonderful place for high quality pastries and breads. Small with a few tables. Highly recommend placing order online or go wild and see what’s left when you stop by this very popular spot.
Delicious, lovely little French cafe. The baguettes and croissants were definite highlights, and the service was quicker than you’d expect. Definitely arrive early, as the croissants sell out quick and you want the freshest bread you can get your hands on.
If you are a fan of French baking then this is the place to go. I say this after going on a cold saturday morning and enjoying a warm breakfast latte with an egg & swiss cheese croissant.
This place has the most authentic French bakes you will find around Austin. The have a vast variety of baked goods and sandwiches. It’s always consistent and they rarely mess up your order. The owner is super friendly, the ambiance is as any French bakery in France, small and cozy. There are outside tables as well. There are high chairs which makes it nice and kid friendly. The only thing I find this place is missing is a bigger space for more tables. Because it is small, when crowds are in to shop there isn’t a lot of room for everyone and sometimes you will need to wait outside. If cold wait in your car. :) Other than that, I recommend this place to anyone looking for a great French bakery experience.
Best bread in Austin. Authentic and affordable, amazing since it’s very good. The sandwiches, quiche, desserts, and pastries are wonderful. Staff is nice. Take your orders to-go because the inside and outside have seating, but it’s rather small.
I'm so excited to find this bakery!! A beautiful selection of patisserie, viennoiseries, and fresh baked REAL french breads.. the viennoiseries are all light, crispy, and flavorful and all products are reasonably priced. Looking forward to come back and try their cold sandwiches and quiches.
Serving Lavazza Perfetto cups nicely with anything on their menu. They make their own delicious bread and pastries. I can't get enough of the place. I personally like the patisian brie sandwich. So simple, so delicious. Go, get a coffee and a pastry. You will have nothing else like it in Austin.
This place was delicious and amazing. It was our first time coming here to eat since many people where talking about this place. The employee was very kind and gave us some recommendation’s. We got the panini and it was so good. The bread was crunchy on the outside and fluffy and soft on the inside. And the fillings inside were also very good. I would definitely recommend this place.
I simply adore B&C!! They offer the most delicious pastries in Austin. I love to stop on my way to work and get a few for my team! Don’t miss the almond croissant!! They also make delicious sandwiches and quiches. Be sure to order online if you need to skip the line. Staff is always friendly!!!!
This adorable little bakery is a must-visit! Their French onion soup, sandwiches, and pastries are simply divine. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming.
Take it from someone who’s originally from Belgium… this is legit European bakery. Cappuccino was shook.
The meringue with custard lemon was way to sweet over sweetened you can not put in your mouth to be honest the pastries at this place have been going down hill for some time now not sure if there's a new pastry chef or ingredients that are subpar I use to love the pastries here reminded me of Paris, but at least the sandwiches are decent keep the standards high and you will do fine.
When I moved to west Austin I didn't think I'd find the best bakery in Texas. First off let's say this is a European bakery so less sweet and baked a bit darker then the normal American knock off of the items. How ever the quiche is amazing, croissants stuffed and not are fabulous and my the desserts are simply the best. Simple Napoleon and raspberry tarts are my family favorites. On our last visit we took home a baguette and the breads were no surprise just as good. My only issue will be not gaining weight from this place. Edit 6/25/23 Ok I've eaten almost the entire menu. I have items that I like better then others but I have not disliked anything so far. The food here is simply phenomenal How can they get better, the quiche is amazing and it's really better then my last two visits. I just wish it was closer to my house
Been here a bunch of times, and the food is excellent. I've tried their quiches, their sandwiches, and many of their desserts, and they've all been exceptional. The service is great and everything is delicious. Seating can get tricky since there's not much seating indoors but they do have some outdoor seating.
Are used to drive 25 minutes to get to this place as they were several years ago one of the only authentic French bakeries in the greater Austin area. It was well worth the drive because the owner is French and she knows exactly what she’s doing in the kitchen. As there are several more competitors in the region now I don’t get out here that often but when I’m in the area I will always stop by to pick up a few brioche breads to freeze get a Parisian sandwich which is a delicious simple French ham, Gruyere cheese, on a baguette with mustard and butter. The raspberry tartlets are delicious. I’m sorry they stop their points system And blocked off their working area where they used to serve coffee, which they still do except now it’s line with boxes so aesthetically it’s not as pleasing
Torn between wanting to keep this place to myself and support a wonderful local business. Great service, AMAZING pastries, and very cozy atmosphere. The panino is great for lunch, or the flan, mousse, tarts, and macarons if you need a little treat (you do). And don't sleep on the baguette! If you want the real deal, this is the place.
We love love Baguette et chocolat. First, I would like to say that the person who gave only one star is not being fair with their review. They had it on their website that there will be no fève. It was their choice bc in America, unfortunately, you need to be careful with things that you could choke on: they probably didn’t want to get sued in case something happened. This person forgot to mention how delicious the galette des rois was. We had leftovers bc we are a family of 3. It was perfect reheated in the toaster oven for the next 2 days. The crust was perfectly flaky. The almond cream was sweet but not too sweet, the right amount of sugar and almond. This place hasn’t changed since it got bought back a couple of years ago. The quality is still the same: it’s still the same pastry chef. The owners are so nice and friendly. I love going there and having my chausson aux pommes, they’re definitely my favorite. I love how flaky are their croissant, pains au chocolat. It’s always hard to decide between a plain good old croissant, pain aux raisins or chausson aux pommes. Sometimes I have to get all 3 😂 I’ve never had their breakfast for some reason, I should try. I’ve had plenty of their lunch items. Their salads are really good and fresh. I love their sandwiches: I feel like I’m home. Their croque monsieur are my favorite thing on their lunch menu: if you haven’t tried them yet, do yourself a favor and head over to get yours. So good!!! Love the sauce on top. I don’t like when other French bakeries make them without that sauce: to me, it’s what make a great croque monsieur. Everything is made fresh so if you’re in a rush, order ahead and your food will be ready when you get there. Being French, sometimes I miss home. If I need comfort food, Baguette et chocolat is where I go. Keep on supporting this amazing bakery!
One of the best bakeries I’ve been to - I discovered this place while in Austin on a work trip. I was desperate for a tasty coffee halfway through and decided to try Baguett et Chocolat. I can’t recommend it enough! The coffee is perfectly smooth and the iced oat milk latte was so good I went back 3 mornings in a row. The pastries alone are worth the trip - they are fresh made and taste like you’re in France. The selection is great and everything I tried was so yummy - highly recommend the Kouign Aman and the Pain au Chocolat. This place is worth a stop (or two or ten)!!
I can't say enough good things about this lovely bakery. Best croissants & pain au chocolat I've ever eaten. Coffee is good, and made with Lavazza beans. The Dutch lady at the counter gave excellent service. Go early if you want the best pastry selection, things sell out fast.
Literally everything on the menu is delicious. You can't go wrong with their quiche or sandwiches. So fresh and full of flavor. If you are trying to make friends at work, bring them pasties from Baguette et Chocolate, it works every time! The coffee options are also great. I have been here dozens of times and each visit was stellar.
Love love love this bakery. I feel so lucky to have them in my neighborhood. Kouign amann is a must try. Great sourdough bread, baguette, and CROISSANT!!!! There's a reason they are always sold out. Bahn mi is not very authentic since they use mayo, not pate also no pickled carrot and Daikon inside. Although they are french bakery, not vietnamese deli, so I guess that's fine. Also I don't recommend getting flan on Sundays, it tastes much better on Wednesdays;)
Still the best morning bakery in the area. Definitely visit, but don't expect seating. Pro tip: use the pickup service and avoid all the hassle.
This is a great place for breakfast and lunch. Their sandwiches and croques are delicious. My wife had their quiche and she loved it. I've been coming here for 2 years and the food has been consistently excellent. Their chantilli capuchino is so much better than Starbucks'. I also liked their chocolate mousse a lot. Highly recommend this restaurant.
One of my favorite places in Austin! The Ciabatta Olive is amazing. All pastries are delicious. The breakfast items are incredible! Make sure to try out the crepes. Excellent customer service. *Please don’t touch the food on display! *Be patient when ordering/waiting. This isn’t fast food!
TODAY is a day that feels good. I feel like there are more people who want to do good in the world than bad. Roomie and I went to Greater Goods to stock up on coffee and then were hungry and searched for spots nearby to have breakfast at noon; Baguette et chocolat was right around the corner. I died and was reborn. 10/10, a transcendent experience, will repeat again sometime.
Finally — a real croissant in the Austin area. Baguette et Chocolat is my go-to for French-style pastries. The croissants are perfectly flaky and buttery, just like they should be. Every pastry I’ve tried here tastes fresh and authentic. The customer service is also top-notch. The staff is friendly, helpful, and clearly cares about the quality of what they serve. You feel taken care of the moment you walk in. If you’ve been hunting for legit French pastries, this is the spot.
The food is amazing. Had the Croque Madame and Nutella Crepe. The flan is amazing. The crepe is delicate and moist. Loved how the egg made the croque come alive. I will definitely be back. The lines are long but worth the wait.
This team consistently provides the very best french pastry experience in Austin. It's a tiny space but they work wonders here. People are kind, professional and true artists.
Honestly kind of shocked the reviews aren't 4.9, this is my favorite bakery in Austin. French style pastries, super high quality, flavorful, divine, and the perfect amount of sweetness. I've had the lemon merengue tarte which was DIVINE- best merengue I've ever had. I've had the raspberry tarte twice which is so fresh, the cream/ custard (?) tastes like real vanilla bean just delicious, raspberries somehow always perfect, and the crust/base just as good as everything else. And lastly, the eclairs-- I love the classic chocolate eclair with the custard filling. I tried the chocolate filling one as well recently, and was surprised how delicious. The ratios are perfect, pastries are fresh, and made with love and respect for the craft! Sweet staff who seem happy to be there, though I wish you could tip (apparently they pay higher wages though, so, good for them.) Great drinks, too- I've had the lavender latte and chai tea! Atmosphere is cozy and unpretentious which is a bonus for me. Hidden gem in Bee Cave, I will be back! Highly recommend especially if you're a pastry lover
Baguette et Chocolat in Bee Cave is one of our favorite weekend breakfast spots! Me and my family love coming here — the atmosphere is cozy, welcoming, and perfect for a relaxing morning. We usually order breakfast croissants with eggs and bacon, and they’re always amazing — buttery, flaky, and full of flavor. Their Mocha is one of the best I’ve had, rich and smooth, and the beignets are absolutely delicious — light, sweet, and fresh every time. The sourdough bread is also worth mentioning; it’s perfectly baked and goes great with any meal. The staff is very polite and attentive, and the service is consistently excellent. Whether we dine in or take our coffee to go, the experience is always pleasant. If you’re in Bee Cave and looking for a lovely spot to enjoy breakfast or a weekend treat, Baguette et Chocolat is definitely a must-visit. Must-try: Beignets, Mocha & Croissant Breakfast Sandwich 🥐☕🍩
Great food and service. The store is cramped outside seating is nice but mostly looking at parking lot. But that's not why you go there. Baked goods, sandwiches, are outstanding.
Adorable little French bakery with fantastic pastries. Get there early because they sell out. We got the Chocolate croissant, 3 layer chocolate cake, baguette sandwiches and french onion soup. All were very fresh and delicious.
This is a hidden gem! Truly authentic pastries (recommend the apple tart snd creme brûlée) and buttery soft croissants (recommend the ham and cheese and bacon and cheese with a scrambled egg inside). Will leave you wanting to come back the next day to try other items.
September 2025 Found another French bakery near my home where tried to come on a Monday but was closed but returned on a Wednesday and was able to experience it. This is a locally owned business with excellent service where I ordered a coffee and was one of the best I had. As I waited for my loved one in physical therapy nearby I enjoyed the coffee outside. They do have an assortment of food menu items and water a stream of people coming and going carry paper bags. I be returning shortly and will try a breakfast item. I returned two weeks later and once again ordered a coffee and this time eggs and on the menu said with bread and got it too. I sat down after getting my fresh cup of coffee and soon a 1/2 baguette filled with a huge egg omelet with bacon pieces. It was in a paper bag and huge. It did taste very good and the eggs had a nice flavor. I have fallen in love of this place, but next time will order something a bit smaller.
This little French restaurant has an excellent croque monsieur and croissant. I look forward to trying more of what they have to offer. It is located in a freestanding building toward the rear of a large shopping, office, and dining area. They share a large free parking lot with the neighboring businesses.
Best baked goods I’ve ever had in my life. Strawberry tart was amazing, as was the almond chocolate croissant. The cinnamon roll was the star of the show though! I cannot recommend it enough. Great coffee as well, we tried the cinnamon roll latte and lavender latte.
My favorite bakery ever! Taste like home! I love the paninis, the sourdough seeds, the walnut and cranberry sourdough, the deserts and the coffee! The staff is very friendly and love the atmosphere. It feels like home. I am originally from Brazil and the bread really reminds me of Home! Love the crunch baguete!
This French bakery is a gem! Their croissants and pastries are perfectly flaky and fresh, and the French onion soup is rich and flavorful—a true classic done right. I also ordered a coffee, and it was fantastic, pairing perfectly with the baked goods. The place is quite popular, so there’s usually a small but steady queue, which speaks to its quality. The staff is incredibly friendly, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. Overall, it’s a must-visit spot for anyone who loves authentic French flavors and a cozy vibe. Highly recommended!
Came for an early lunch/late breakfast on Sunday. This place is POPULAR, so as their signs say - Be Patient and good luck trying to find parking. It wasn't long before I ordered and then waited a few minutes to get my food, but I could tell that if I didn't arrive at such a wonky hour, this place would be crushed. The food was fantastic and the people were great, so I understand the appeal. I had the Parisienne sandwich. It was a great ham & cheese with dijon on a perfect baguette. Crunch, chew, tasty all at the same time. The thing was ginormous! Really enough for two people or two meals. I also got a pear tart because a) didn't know what else to get and b) never had one before. I'm such a rube! Anyway, that thing was insanely good. Perfect pear taste with a brilliant pastry base. I'm coming back! On some miserable weather day between real meal times or whenever else I could predict few people would be around... Pro-Tip: they were doing a lively business for on-line orders. This is the route to go.
Food, as always was both authentic and delicious. Service is polite and prompt. Current Covid 19 restrictions, however, make takeout a better option. We opted to eat outside, and the experience wasn't great. To start, there is no bathroom access. That said, this place is a gem if you enjoy authentic French comfort food.
1st time here. Service was friendly. Our food came out fast. My coffee was good and the quiche florentine was great, crust cooked perfectly. My Husband ordered the breakfast sandwhich that was good but could have been better, a lot of egg and not enough ham or swiss. We will return to try more.
Small French bakery with a good selection of pastries and a large savory menu. The pastries look beautiful and they taste good, ignore the review saying you can get better pastry at HEB absolutely not true as a pastry chef who worked in a patisserie for 5 years. Everything is very fairly priced I’ve paid much more for less quality. All the bread was sold out by 10 AM so go early for bread. Limited seating so a place to grab things to go. It’s worth a try if your in the area the only place you can get a quality French pastry/treat. The beignets were tasty but like a cream filled doughnut not like a traditional fried beignet. The service was friendly with the customers when I visited. Best chocolate almond croissant I’ve had in a long time.
This is a great place for a light lunch or brunch. We tried the croque madame and Lorraine quiche and they were both excellent. The espresso coffees were definitely not worth it, especially if you make your own espressos at home, but that's par for the course with espressos, so no different from anywhere else. We'll be back to try some of the cold sandwiches, desserts and take some baguettes home.
We visited on a Sunday morning, and it was a bit busy. We ordered the Surprise Croissant, Chocolate Croissant, and Croque Madame Salad. The croissants were delicious—flaky and flavorful. However, the Croque Madame Salad was disappointing. We specifically requested it without meat but with an egg on top, yet the egg was missing on the top. When we brought it to their attention, they provided the egg separately, which felt like an oversight that could have been avoided. The environment was pleasant, and the staff was friendly, but attention to detail matters. They have outdoor seating.
A nice bakery with a large selection of pastries and breakfast items. They have an extensive variety of macarons, so you’re sure to find one you like. For breakfast, we ordered a Croque Madame. It was good but a bit dry for my taste. All dishes were served in take-out boxes. The Paris Austin and macaron were delicious and moderately sweet. The Napoleon was crispy, though the sweet glaze on top was a bit much for my taste.
This place isn't bad, it just isn't extraordinary. I was hoping for more dessert options. I had quiche, which was good but had that sad I sat all day, on its last leg kind of taste. it probably tasted amazing when first made. The flavor was there but the creamy, fluffy goodness was lost. The salad was ok but I can make better at home. My cappuccino was amazing.
We paid 2 days in advance for our +$80 order only to have them tell us at pick up time at the store that portions of our items were accidentally sold. They couldn’t accommodate us then and asked us to come back in 2 days (!?). It wouldn’t have been a problem if this place wasn’t so out of the way. The croissants are pretty good for Austin and they’re some of the largest I’ve ever had. Their bread is ok but not as good as other Austin bakeries (Sour Duck). Too bad. We really wanted to like this place.
We have been coming here for a number of years now from when it was barely known to when it has been densely packed and overcrowded. Glad to see the new setup has more seating. Not glad to see they now have menus (for counter service?!), a new display case that you can't see through at all (unless they keep the whole restaurant cold ), and terrible burnt coffee. The first two are really forgivable but there's no excuse for burning the espresso used in the drinks. The food and baked goods are still outstanding, though. If they fix the coffee, I'll update my review.
No longer the same 😞 After changing owners (and chefs) all baked goods became no better than from HEB. Croissants are flat and no linger savory, six seeds bread and ciabatta olive not well raised while seeds and olives there are hard to find. We used to love this place, coming every week. Not worth the drive anymore. Shame 🥺
Sorry, but the chocolate croissant wasn't fresh and flakey. The beignet was stale, though the filling was good. the prices were overall good. the bread was good and the raspberry tart was good.
Small restaurant with friendly staff. Very limited menu which doesn't match my tastes. Two of our party of five only found sweet crepes to order for lunch. One had a pan chocolat which was ok. If you like their menu you'll probably like this place. I only went because one person really wanted to go and fir me that was a mistake.
Well that was....disappointing. We were in the area and I googled "French bakery". This came up and we went. Quite a few people in line, which is usually a good sign. Unfortunately, the baguette was way too hard and the $5 chocolate croissant was so dry that we had to throw it away. Not worth the money or the wait.
When you can get them, the most unbelievable almond croissant 🥐 ever! When I went and waited in the always long line there one morning and they did in fact have them, I was told by the by the MOST UNFRIENDLY STAFF EVER that I was limited to 2 (I was asking for 3). I couldn’t believe it. I promised myself I’d never go back but have been back 3 times and have received the same service. Food good but not worth the attitude, wait and pricey too!
This place has changed. It is no longer customer friendly! They have become a factory of low quality consumer grade French pastry. There's no place to set. The food is below average served in thin cardboard containers and the pastry taste is something you can get for much less at H-E-B which is just across the street. Highly un-recommend. Do not make the trip and waste your time as you will be disappointed unless you have some corporate event and you need a quick below average catering then maybe you can get away with it.
Good pretentious, wannabe, French place. Wanted to check this place out cause the photos looked good and was hoping the food would be awesome. Sandwich/paninis lack taste & are very dry. The pastries are stale, but delicious. Service is cold, unfortunately for a small place like this. Ambiance: There is very little of it, if any. In fact, feels pretty congested. Wouldn't go here again, nor do I think its a good place to go with kids.
We finally went to this place after reading positive reviews, ready to join in and wow what a disappointment! Bland tasteless coffee, teeny tiny tables crowded together, & rude staff. We ordered an item off the menu that has a very large, clear photo & a warning about dairy. When we received it, there was a substantial amount of another ingredient, not pictured in the photo, pork. There's no notation that the item contains that, just the warning about dairy. We understand these things can happen, & politely asked for a replacement but they outright refused to correct their mistake. Since no one eats pork in our house, we were unable to eat their over priced food. There are probably some nice things to eat there but with such a bad approach to a relatively simple problem, & such poor regard for consumer health, I won't be returning, & will be sure & share this information with all of my friends.
Nasty service not worth the money! It should never matter how much money you have, how much your restaurant is worth, or how pretty your pastry’s are...... BUT it should alway matter how you make a CHILD / Person feel. This is not a feel good place unless you’re a 🤮 🤢nasty person. If you’re in our community please be kind or leave !
I expected desserts that will resemble the ones I had in Paris, I bought eclairs and fruit tarts. The fruit tarts had a dry crumbly cookie on the bottom, the custard was hard and greedy and over the fruit there was some salty drizzle, absolutely disappointing. The eclairs, I literally threw away, the custard inside was nothing that I have ever eaten in an eclair. This is far from French pastries. Other family members had same opinion as I did, so this is not my personal opinion only. Very, very disappointing!
I’ve supported this bakery for many years, but my recent visit was upsetting. I drove quite far and arrived well before closing, yet I was told the pastries still on display couldn’t be sold because they were being held for the next day. It didn’t feel right to be turned away while the shelves were full, and the situation left me disappointed.
