Barrett's Coffee Austin Reviews
So far, my favorite coffee in Austin! I regularly purchase their beans and haven't been disappointed by any batch. Their seasonal drinks can be hit or miss in my opinion, but it's all subjective anyways. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the area.
My go-to coffee spot. If you haven’t been here, come. The place deserves your attention. Coffee is good, the vibe is local and it’s locally owned. Win win. Thanks for existing!
First time visitor! We in, ordered my coffee and had to use the bathroom. I ended up leaving my wallet in the bathroom. I called, the ladies retrieved it, and all things were in tact! SHOUT OUT TO THE HONEST, FRIENDLY EMPLOYEES! You’re greatly appreciated ❤️
Barrett’s reusable coffee bean canister program can’t be beat! Bring in your AIRSCAPE air tight container or buy one there, and they will fill it with one of their two dozen single origins or blends at an amazing price. Bonus: every time you refill the can, you get a free drink token! Best of all, the expert baristas as always happy to give advice on grind size, dosing, and more to get the most out of your chosen locally-roasted bean.
My go-to shop for espresso and roasted coffee. They have an excellent and varying selection of single origin coffee, each bag of roasted beans typically comes with a cup of coffee to be used at any time. The space is popular for working and hanging out. The staff has always been welcoming.
Barrett's has some of the best roasted beans in the city. We get a canister once a month and every single time the beans have been fantastic. We appreciate the free coffee when we refill. Highly recommend Barrett's!
friendly staff, great beans and the best drip I've had. cool cafe' to work at. shuts at 7 so definitely a morning/afternoon place. the pastries I tried weren't great but might give it a second shot next time.
This is such a quintessential Austin coffee shop. Cozy and easy to post up with a laptop. High-quality drinks that cover any taste or beverage need. Their roasted beans are tremendous and cover a lot of range. Excellent pour overs
My favorite cafe in the city! Love their espresso and all of their baristas. I used to live on St John's avenue and would walk here multiple times a week. Going to miss living on the same block as y'all!
Whoa Nellie! Great coffee and great service. Parking can be a little tricky here but it's definitely worth it. I picked up several bags of beans to take home and enjoyed a couple of cups while I was here. Very friendly staff, very patient with questions about the bean selection. Highly recommended.
This is a pretty good cup of coffee. My wife and I were looking for a coffee shop with similar coffee to what we enjoyed in Shanghai and, wow, this might be it. She got the cappuccino and I got a latte. Dain, our barista, was really nice and took good care of us. The environment is very niche. It feels like back alley that happened to serve coffee one day, particularly with the bars on the windows. Everything was clean and the cups even have a nice weight to them. Honestly would come back again! All photos directly out of camera, Fuji X-T5 with a 10-24mm @ f/4, in black and white because I’m weird like that.
Barrett’s Coffee is a wonderfully cozy and peaceful café, perfect for those who appreciate a quiet, focused atmosphere. On a Sunday visit, we noticed people engaged in their own worlds - some working on laptops, others reading books. In fact, several people were reading, which says a lot about the kind of space this is. It’s the kind of place where concentration and calmness feel like the norm. The coffee is excellent, and the service is warm and welcoming. A standout feature is their separate roasting room, housing two massive coffee roasting machines along with stacks of coffee bags, hinting at large-scale roasting operations. Whether they only serve their coffee in-house or also sell it elsewhere, it’s clear they take their craft seriously. This is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates coffee not just as a drink but as a culture. Barrett’s Coffee doesn’t just serve great coffee - it cultivates an environment that truly embraces the coffee experience. Highly recommended!
This cozy little spot might not look like much from the outside but step inside and you’ll find a cute area perfect for working. There’s plenty of tables, lots of space, and it’s open late so you can work comfortably late into the evening. The coffee is fantastic, especially the handmade pumpkin spice latte which truly lives up to the hype. You can even buy the syrup to take home! The cardamom bun was delicious as well. It tastes like a slightly different version of a cinnamon roll. So whether you’re there to work, unwind, or just grab a delicious latte, this café is worth a visit.
Very nice coffee shop that is also a roasters I believe. Parking is a little funky so make sure you don’t too early because map apps will have you turning into a vacant building spot. Then inside is very cool with great service and importantly great coffee. The espresso shots are well pulled and their homemade beverages are excellent and well balanced.
A great coffee shop in my new neighborhood. Cozy and quiet just how I like my coffee shops. Staff were training so probably not the typical experience to have the ordering counter unattended which is understandable. It appeared they were roasting the coffee right in back?which if they do it on sight is awesome! The cappuccino was good, the espresso was smooth and slightly sweet. Parking is a bit awkward but as to be expected in a city.
I come here regularly because I live nearby and love having a cafe within walking distance. The espresso is okay, but it’s nothing special. If you’ve been to Radio Coffee, the lattes here taste about the same. The real issue is the service. This isn't a one-off experience with a single person. I’ve visited multiple times and have been served by several different baristas, yet the attitude is always the same. They often come across as cold, judgmental, and generally like they don’t want to be there. I’ve worked in the service industry myself, so I try to give some grace since I know how draining it can be. However, matching a customer's energy with a simple smile is the bare minimum. Every interaction feels incredibly off-putting and unwelcoming.
I ordered 1 lb of whole beans from them through DoorDash. When picking up the order the workers were so confused on how to handle it. Sorry but either you don't support an ordering platform at all or train the employees to handle it properly. Not business's fault but parking here is horrible. There isn't even a spot to quickly park to pick up an order. With all that said, coffee beans that I got were well roasted and tasted great.
This was my first time there and it was bad. My coffee was barely warm and I don't know if it was made correctly. I watched the barista warm up the milk for 10 seconds before filling my cup. They eyeballed the amount of flavoring in drinks which makes things inconsistent. I don't like that. Plus they didn't call out orders when they were done. I had to figure out myself that it was mine. Which was awkward since I had to touch the cup to see the writing on it. Thankfully it was mine. The cashier was super unfriendly and unhelpful. I don't mind if you have a RBF face and do your job correctly.
I am never a fan of barretts coffee including the syrups they pair with it. It tastes fine, but then theres an alcohol hit during it. Its mever a smooth taste, it always has a sharp edge to it that isnt great to me, it leads me having a headache as im drinking it. I am not a fan, but wouldnt say is the WORSTT, but would never go again.
