Latchkey Austin Reviews
Maeve was excellent. I waited patiently, but she kept the line properly queued. Very impressed, will return!!
Cut throat karaoke is legit the best, most funny thing to experience. Cheap beer and lots of really cool people.
Maeve is the sweetest and best bartender I’ve met on east. She deals with so many people and is still so kind to each person she talks to! Also Isaiah has always been so kind!
Leecee was one of the best bartenders I’ve ever experienced. She anticipated my next drink order before I even said it, she was quick, efficient and so friendly! What a fun place and atmosphere- especially because of the staff!
This place is like home, seriously! Each visit is a fantastic experience. We love the staff and atmosphere.
Latchkey is the best and I will never not dance the entire time I’m there. Bartenders are sweet, fast as heck (and gorg), Leece is the coolest. Vibes are high every time!
Stopped in for a couple drinks after dinner. We really enjoyed the place! Great vibes.
Classic DIVE BAR! Smells of late nights and incense. Great local beer selection. They sling cocktails. Dark and cool on a hot Austin summer day. Barkeep was friendly and efficient. This is a crowd pleaser late-night among the younger folks. But, hey, who doesn’t love a dive bar every once in a while. Check it out.
There was a 50th birthday party here, cupcakes and cookies everywhere. Everyone had a good time. The taco truck out back serves hot and delicious food, I recommend the bacon roses. The bar is a bar...but thebstaff was friendly and efficient for an east side bar on a busy Saturday. Come in and check it out...
dj was playing certified early-mid 2000’s bangers with a touch of funny random sound board stuff lmao. it was super packed, this is a typical university spot where ppl get sweaty and drunk didn’t get a drink, mostly went to be with ppl and music
There's better bars in East Austin, to say the least!
My wife was there last night with her 5 friends (all females), a group of men (non American), sat down next to them. My wife went to dance, leaving her drink at the table. Not long afterwards, she started to feel drugged. The next 10 hours were terrible for her. It seems very apparent that her drink was drugged. Be careful with your beverages. I’m trying to communicate with the staff at the bar, but there is no working phone number.
The guy manager from Sunday was very rude. For him to be a manager at a bar, if he’s going to take shots with his friends and all, he should at least be able to be professional while “working”. 0/10 do not recommend
The experience at this bar was terrible. The service is poor, the staff is rude to customers, and they show no interest in providing good attention. The atmosphere is nonexistent — no music or good vibes that make you want to stay. On top of that, they made a mistake with the bill and never returned the money, which I find completely unprofessional and disrespectful. I definitely do not recommend this place.
a friend i knew , fell of a table there, he needed acl surgery, he was walked out and left in ally alone, after incident , thrown out alone. and phone was dead, and he couldnt walk. hope he sues this place for everything its worth. #KARMA
Bartender was extremely passive aggressive, seemed irritated any time I tried to order (which made me super uncomfortable) at some point she even turned around and talked about me to another customer because she thought I couldn’t hear her. Extremely unprofessional.
We arrived at 9pm with friends visiting from out of town, fully aware that dogs aren’t allowed in bars after 10pm. The bouncer kindly gave us a heads-up and still allowed us in, which we appreciated. However, a short time later, a manager walked by, pointed at my dog, and simply said “no dogs” before walking off without any further explanation. I completely understand and respect your policy, but the way it was communicated felt unnecessarily dismissive and rude—especially when we were with a group of 10 who were ready to order food and drinks. A polite, direct conversation would have gone a long way. We ended up taking our business elsewhere. Just wanted to share this so hopefully others are treated with more courtesy in the future.
Smells really bad and the music is so loud it hurts my ears to be inside. Didn’t even stay five minutes, sorry Update 01/05: This place is all right. One time I went in, and it smelled like terrible, so I was out of there real quick. I went out last night and decided to give it a second chance, I will probably not go a third time. The DJ was all right, I was there on a Friday night, and there was a bunch of people, so I’m pretty sure maybe it’s just me that didn’t like the music, but the DJ kept playing a lot of throwback/oldies, and I was just not into it after the seventh, eighth song in a row. He played three vengaboys song in a row, like what? Ehhh
