Los Potrillos Austin Reviews
Our group of 4 adult north winter escapees ate Mexican several times while on our Texas road trip. We all say the food at Los Potrillos stood out as the best! We have it placed on our "must return" list for next winters escape.
Seafood are my go to here. So good!
Food is a little on the pricier side but very tasty with generous portions. I hadthe mixed grill and my friend had a burrito. I got full and still have enough left for a light lunch. Service was friendly and attentive. Waitress kept our drinks full and cleared plates promptly, etc. Really love the decor and music.
Food was great! The limón agua fresca was fantastic and their corn tortillas were fabulous in everything from enchiladas to gorditas.
We had the best experience. The food was delicious we had a burrito meal a parillada someone had oysters, mariscos everything was delicious and fresh! My son had the kids enchilada everything was piping hot. The bathrooms were immaculate and smelled clean. The service was really nice our waitress checked on us a bunch of times. We took a cake they provided a candle and even put the birthday song on. Everything was just really good! 👍
My wife and I stopped here before a concert at Moody. The food and service was great. I got a chicken chimichanga and my wife got the chicken fajitas. Both dishes where great, I would rate my chimichanga in my top 3 and the sides were perfect especial the gac salad!! The corn chips were probably the best I ever had, the salsa was ok but the pico de gallo and hot sauces were on point. My only regret is I wish we would had the ability to try some of the other dishes that I find most Mexican restaurants fall short on. We will be back the next time we are in the area.
The meals here are so fresh and flavorful! Great selection! Service was awesome! The environment was very intimate! We will be back!!
Amazing restaurant. I went for for the first-time yesterday. They have ample parking, friendly and Quick service. I had agua de Jamaica, best one I've had in my life. Me and my Partner had la carne asada and he had the marisco soup. Both were flesh, super flavorful. One thing that really made me want to come back besides the food is the salsa they serve with the nachos. The salsa is flavorful without being too spicy. It was perfect. We have found a new favorite spot.
Food is ok not the best definitely over priced for what you get extremely white washed Mexican food salsa Verde needs more chilis or to be made in house definitely store bought salsa roja can taste it's made in house but watered down carnitas flavorless just boiled pork the barbacoa dry without salsa ( had to ask for extra salsa roja Verde just tasted like straight tomatillos no salt no flavor no spice salsa roja as a white guy I can drink it straight and not feel a thing no spice just bland). I ordered the tacos 4 for a plate but 15 for the four and I asked for corn tortillas and only two of the tacos came with corn the other two were flour I wasn't gonna send them back as that's a waste of food no need to do that. The grilled chilli no spice just meh the grilled onion saved the plate along with the tripa perfectly cooked to me as I enjoy it crispy didn't have the skunk taste like most places do extremely clean tripa I appreciate that. My main waitress was amazing noticed I spoke Spanish right away after I noticed English wasn't her first language I hold the belief that if you can't order in Spanish don't go to a Mexican restaurant with Latino staff but the second waitress that was assisting showed slight racism assuming I wouldn't understand Spanish she was young so can't blame her only reason the service doesn't get 5 stars atmosphere was judgemental being the only white person at the establishment I could feel the staring while I ate from other patrons. I also found it a little stupid I order a beer and got a frosty mug don't get me wrong I love a frosted mug but when the beer didn't feel half I feel forced to order a second beer to not let the effort go to waste ( I fell for this trap). In the end it's just a white washed Mexican establishment that definitely over charges for the food I much rather go to the trucks then this establishment again I wish the main waitress luck as she was amazing but I will not return.
Expensive and bland. Bad service. Waited for water and chip refills. Had to ask cashier for chips then my queso was cold. Only one size small margarita for $10.99. It was barely 6oz worth.cheapest beer $6.99 I should have got a drink at the corner store and ordered the food truck next door.
After ordering the shrimp nacho, I've gotten food poisoning the same night I placed it! Definitely will Not order here any more from here. Need to check y'all's expiration dates on the sea food!!!!
