Next Level Burger Austin Reviews
Great tasting food! The ‘Hunny Hickory TenderClucks’ were so good!! The Caesar salad was alright, I would add more chicken next time if I ordered again. A bit pricey, but worth the splurge. Will be back!
I got the American burger with pepper jack and tater tots. Wow this place is good! The beyond meat patty is thick and seasoned well. The tater tots are crispy and taste like actual potatoes. I highly recommend coming here if you’re vegan! I will say the service is incredibly slow. We were shopping around Whole Foods so luckily it didn’t bother us but even after we finished shopping, our food wasn’t ready.
Stopped by Next Level Burger inside the flagship Whole Foods and tried the Chik’n Bacon Ranch Burger with a side of onion rings — and I’ve got to say, this spot lives up to its name in terms of freshness and plant-based creativity. The burger had great balance: crispy “chik’n” patty, smoky vegan bacon, and that creamy ranch sauce that tied everything together. The toppings were fresh, the bun held up well, and the flavors felt satisfying without being greasy or heavy. You can tell they put care into presentation and texture, which goes a long way when you’re eating plant-based. The onion rings were a real highlight — golden, crunchy, and perfectly seasoned. They came out hot and didn’t have that oily aftertaste you get from some fryers. The pricing leans a little high for counter-style service inside a grocery store, and the seating area doesn’t exactly scream “restaurant vibe.” Since it’s in the middle of Whole Foods so you’ll have to catch a seat near the entrance or outside. But the staff was friendly especially Mr Curry , the food came out quick, and it’s a solid win for anyone craving a hearty vegan meal in central Austin. Would definitely go back when I’m in Whole Foods and want something indulgent but still plant-based.
Next Level Burger – Austin (Inside Whole Foods) Blessed up, people! 🙌 This spot is truly next level. I popped in during a promotion for the Sunrise Burger (yes, a FREE plant-based burger—what a blessing), and honestly? I’d pay for it no question. It was THAT good. The burger was stacked with flavor, cooked to perfection, and had a fresh, wholesome feel without sacrificing the satisfaction of a solid smash burger. The setup is slick—super convenient being inside Whole Foods, with chill seating and plenty of options for everyone. Loved the ease, loved the service, and especially loved the taste. 🍔💥 This place is it when you’re craving that vegan burger hit. #HighlyRecommend 🌱 100% plant-based 🔥 Convenient location 🪑 Indoor seating available 💚 Great for quick bites or chill hangs Thank you, Next Level! I’ll be back!
Next Level Burger has become my new favorite fake fried chicken place. I’m not really a vegetarian that craves much meat, and let’s be honest, am I really even a vegetarian? Anyway, when I DO crave meat, it’s fried chicken. And good golly, miss Molly, do they do a good fake fried chicken sandwich. It is absolutely delicious. It’s crispy and flavorful and warm and has some fun toppings like tempeh and pickles and different sauces. I loved Project Pollo but I guess they were bought and I haven’t seen them. Aside from PP Ive never come across another fake fried chicken place like this. So far my fav has been the limited time honey truffle chicken sandwich - can you keep it for good plz? The price is really high, but if you download their app and respond to their surveys, you can get points. And the points are actually really good - I’ve had a free fry, a free chicken sandwich and also $20 off an order from all the points. So they do add up and help your wallet a bit. Oh and they also do shakes and they’re great too.
First time visiting Next Level; the only thing off was the location which inside the Whole Foods; a mix atmosphere (I personally give it a 4.5). But don’t let the location fool you; the food is phenomenal. From a meat eater’s perspective, the in-house patty is great, I can call out the vegan beef but it doesn’t bother me. The sweet potato fries are wonderful; salty and sweet; not too oily. The shakes are great; there’s two options of a soy base or coconut base shake which I find wonderful to those with soy sensitivity. THE FRY SAUCE, I personally think is far better than Raising Cane’s sauce. Top of my list. Ordered the SoCal burger for their in-house patty and I have no complaints. Great flavor, light and easily enjoyable; patty itself has complex flavors, again no issues from a meat eater’s perspective. I would like to see a brick and motor store. One critique I have; service was wonderful. Worth the visit.
Sooooo gooooood! The Rocky Road Shake was amazing. I love alot of toppings and it was chalk full of chocolate, marshmallows, nuts, and sweet goodness. You can choose between coconut or soy soft serve. My burger was so stacked I could hardly finish. Loved the BBQ sauce, sweet and tangy. Service was quick. It's pricey but a nice splurge for your cravings.
The food was amazing I Got the plant base burger with the onion rings on it. The server Kurry was great very nice and helpful his customer service was a 10 out of 10 and the food was 10 out of 10 also the cookie dough vegan milk shake was a 10 out of 10 me and my wife will be back
Super convenient stopping for a burger while I’m grocery shopping. Love that it’s located inside Whole Foods and 100% vegan. I love the mushroom patty the most but it always falls apart. Fries and tator tots are delicious and the shakes are ok. I recommend the peanut butter cup shake
Vegan or not, you MUST give this a try next time you’re grabbing groceries. Smooth ordering process via tablet and food was ready within 5min. We got animal style fries, which give In n Out a run for their money. The kind of food where you take a bite and say “are you sure this is vegan?!”

Today was our first time, my son requested a burger for a quick dinner before an after school activity and I needed some items at Whole Foods. I’ve been eating WFPB for the past couple of years and it can be hard to find a really nice burger option. I got the beyond burger on a sprouted bun with special sauce and it was delicious, juicy and hearty, every component what you would want. My son who’s 8yo and picky had no idea his meal was vegan (cheeseburger), he kept saying “delicious” every few bites. We shared his kids fries which were a generous portion, thick and not too greasy, well seasoned with some sort of Cajun spice. I’m sure we will eat here again! I can’t wait to try a shake or a different burger like the veggie one!

6/2023 original post: Super nice employees and thoughtful service, added bonus of being able to support a place with good values that's actually putting money toward good causes. Currently, every NLB location across the country is donating money to a local LGBTQ+ non-profit. I got the avocado cobb salad and thought the vegan bleu cheese dressing was creative. I loved the Cookies n Cream milkshake as well. They actually ended up giving me 2 vouchers for a free milkshake because I had to wait 15-20 minutes for my order (the person before me put in a $700 order and they got super busy) so I'll definitely be going back to redeem those and to try some of their other food options! update: went back the following month to redeem those milkshake vouchers, several of my non-vegan friends got shakes and loved them!
We got to meet Curry at the front and right off the bat, he was super friendly and very helpful. We got a soy based chocolate milkshake and it was really good. It reminded me of milkshakes I used to have as a kid. Great food, clean environment and great people. We will definitely be going back!!
Omg, I was craving Chick-fil-A and ordered a chicken sandwich on door dash not reading everything was plant base...🫢 my doordash arrived in opened the food and I was like this doesn't look like chicken. Lol then I read on the bag plant base...im not mad at the restaurant it was my misreading and my cravings lol. Ill rate it 8/10 because I was fooled and ate the whole meal. I didn't rate 10/10 because I wanted the real chicken which is not your fault. My colleague asked me was it good at least and I told them yes lol.
The first time having this I actually ordered it via door dash thinking that it was just another chicken sandwich and not taking into account that this was a completely vegan restaurant. Upon getting the sandwiches, they looked absolutely amazing and I dug in really quickly and noticed that something was off with the bacon, but it was still good. Then I discovered it was tempeh bacon. So then I looked up the restaurant and saw that this was a vegan chicken sandwich and I'm absolutely mind blown by the taste! Such an upgrade from traditional fast food! And they offer milkshakes that have coconut milk and soy milk for us people who are lactose intolerant! This place is absolutely amazing! I highly recommend & I will be eating here very often for when I have a fast food kick!
This was one of the absolute best burgers I have ever had, and their homemade sauce and pepper jack cheese are out of this world amazing!!! The mint chocolate chip milkshake is fantastically creamy with the perfect amount of mint!! The staff are incredibly kind and gracious, and fully trained in food allergies!! Kurry was one of the nicest restaurant staff I have ever met, and I hope one day they’re able to have locations in every major city!!
So delicious!!! The best burger experience I've had anywhere vegan or not. And the guy that took my orders very helpful, professional and friendly!

Here’s what I have to say - false advertising :( The name Next Level Burger makes one think you’re getting, well….a burger. Their “classic burger” does not say anywhere on it that it’s VEGAN! NOT MEAT! I got halfway through eating it when discovering….it tastes like nothing lol. Then I looked up and see on the bag it says “Next Level Veggie Grill”. That said, it wasn’t bad, but I just spent $18 on something that was not meat when I prefer meat. I’m a bit disappointed and honestly feel like this is deceptive. “Smash patty” is not descriptive enough. There should be in the description what is in the patty because I genuinely have no idea what I just ate. Also just make it more clear that this is a vegan place. I’m disappointed.
The atmosphere has gotten so much better since Kurry took over! I used to avoid ordering when the previous manager was at the register because she was so rude and unwelcoming. The food tastes great, but can be a bit heavy. I love that they have soy based milkshakes! It can be very difficult to find good vegan ice cream offerings especially soft serve.

Burger was actually ok taste wise, not sure it was anything like the photos but I think it’s fair to describe it as just “ok” and the photos are a bit of a stretch from what you’re served. Considering it’s in whole foods, it’s pretty convenient but they also have a wide range of grab and go food for less money as this was a little overpriced for what you get…
Food is delicious but was disappointed on the portion of fries when I ordered the pub cheese style fries. Paying almost $11, I expected a lot more than I received. As good as it was I wouldn’t get it again for that price just b.c of the portioning. I also got their peanut butter milkshake and it is delicious, I got it with soy milk. The image is their large option. I also got the maverick burger and that one is rly good too (forgot to take a pic of the burger). No complaints with those 2. The lady that gave me my food today was very friendly, I appreciate her positive attitude!

Burger is pretty great, although a bit small for the price. The biggest complaint is there are NEVER clean tables to eat at. Occasionally when I leave the gym I’ll head here and get 2 doubles. Which is almost $30. And every single table is gross. You have to wipe away someone else lunch, before you can sit down. I’ve brought this up to Whole Foods Management 3x in the last 2 months. It’s disgusting. NextLevel needs to demand that Whole Foods actually maintain the tables and eating area. It’s vile, and consistently so.
