Rocket Coffee Austin Reviews
Neighborhood gem! My pup and I love "Sami's Place." On our walks, she leads me to the door, even after hours. 🥹 Not only does Sami brew the best organic beans, but he remembers my order and always makes sure Marley 🐶 is taken care of (with a bowl of water and a pup cup). We are grateful for this small business in our neighborhood, and hope it's here for years to come. Sami (Rocket Coffee) supports the community, from free Cedar Park HS band concerts on the patio to hosting an annual dog adoption event with the Austin Humane Society. Get yourself a drink and relax. ☕️
was looking for a coffee shop on the way home to get some school work done and found this place! espresso is delicious- i thoroughly enjoyed my iced americano.
11/2025 nice coffee shop tucked in with some other shops at the street of an urban-style apartment complex. Good selection of pastries and your typical variety of specialty coffee drinks, hot and cold. Nice mugs for in-house enjoyment instead of everyone getting to-go cups. Three size options. They have a cozy indoor area , or indulge al-fresco on the deck under the shade trees. Some road noise from Parmer Lane so don't expect absolute quiet meditation.
WOW!!! I called this locally owned shop the day before I needed a large order of coffee and assorted pastries, and the owner went out of his way to call me back that evening to sort out the details and had EVERYTHING we needed the next morning. He was so accommodating and helpful, but more than anything was gracious for our business! Not to mention the whole team raved about the pastries (specifically the croissants and muffins)!! We will be going back and would recommend!
I love that this coffee shop is so welcoming. The staff and owner aren’t dismissive or unapproachable. They helped me find the best drink for my taste. I tried the peppermint bark latte with oat milk, which was so creamy and comforting. They were happy to toast my croissant a bit longer upon request, since I like them crispy and flaky. While there I noticed many different people arriving and staying- some working (the WiFi is strong and password is clearly displayed for customers), families, couples, and regulars (happily talking with the owner and barista). Both the inside and patio area are spacious with plenty of seating. You don’t feel rushed when you’re there. I too chatted with the owner Sami and learned about the many ways the business supports local schools, teachers, charities, and their commitment to using organic fair trade coffee beans. This coffee shop is one I will happily continue to visit and support!
I come to this coffee shop often, and every time I get the same perfectly made, delicious coffee — with beautiful foam and a rich aroma 🤎 You can really tell they care about quality. The place is always clean and cozy, with a very pleasant atmosphere. The barista is a kind and welcoming man who makes the space feel even warmer. It’s the kind of coffee shop you truly want to come back to 👌 P.S. I especially love adding a touch of cinnamon to my coffee — it’s perfect here ☕️
Stopped by after a soccer game for a treat and ordered two hot chocolates and a cinnamon roll. Food/drink were nothing special but good. But the barista, Crow, was FANTASTIC. Warm and patient when my 11-year-old couldnt make up her mind about her order and totally chill when I dropped my knife and some icing on the floor. She just had such a good vibe and it made our visit to rocket coffee unexpectedly especially enjoyable.
This is mine and my family’s favorite place for coffee! We love the iced Star Light Star Bright latte, my kid loves the iced matcha latte. And when in season the Pumpkin PIE latte is AMAZING! The pumpkin cheesecake is also to die for! The owner is fantastic, he’s such a nice wonderful person. His daughter works here too along with his staff who are all just as wonderful! The inside is super neat, clean, and comfortable. It has a really cool space theme going on with a beautiful mural on the wall. They keep us coming back for over a year now with their tasty coffee, treats, and wonderfulness.
Staff (possibly owner?) was super friendly and helpful! The seating area outside is so nice, and there’s plenty of seating inside as well. They have a cute space theme indoors and were decorated for the fall season which was so fun! I ordered a white mocha latte and it came out perfect. I wish I could remember exactly what the barista told me, but it sounds like they use very high quality beans, and make a big effort to give back to their community. I would highly recommend trying them out!
This hands down is my absolute favorite coffee shop! First off, Sami the owner, and his daughter that also works here are such wonderful people that I’ve had the honor of getting to know over the time I’ve been coming here. His staff is always so friendly and kind. He uses only the best quality coffees, teas, and syrups. My favorites are the Star Light Star Bright Latte, Pumpkin Pie Latte, and my kid LOVES the regular matcha latte and the other varieties they sell through the year. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Thank you guys for always being so wonderful to me!
Cozy coffee shops are back! We had the best experience at Rocket Coffee. From the ambiance and the cozy interior to the expansive outdoor seating, it was great for working and catching up. The owner is very friendly and let us know that all their beans are both fair trade and organic. Pro tip: get the cardamom cold brew or latte!
Such a wonderful coffee shop tucked away inside an apartment complex! Not only is the coffee delicious (especially the banana churro latte) but the service and atmosphere are excellent as well. They have a well shaded outdoor seating area and lots of seating inside. As someone who enjoys doing schoolwork at a coffee shop, I really appreciate the moderate volume they play their music at. Even if you have to drive a little further to get here this place is worth!
Sami was efficient, attentive, and kind. Besides getting my order ready super quickly, I was able to witness one of those lil things that makes one’s day better… a sweet lil girl was leaving and Sami asked her mom and her if they wanted a fun lil sticker; the girl walkout so happy about it. The place is cute and not crowded, which is very pleasant. Plenty seats inside and outside, besides having plenty parking available as well. I thought it was cool that they use traceable, local organic coffee beans.
I stopped by on a Saturday early afternoon for a coffee. The atmosphere was calm with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available. Brianna was warm and welcoming, which made the experience even better. We ordered an iced café latte and a cappuccino—both were very good. Next time, we’ll request the cappuccino “extra hot,” as it was served more on the warm side. Will be back next time to try something else.
Wonderful coffee shop! I live in the area and have never heard of this place before, but it was wonderful to stumble into. Lee was the kind barista who helped me, and recommended a rose cardamon latte, which was lovely. It also came with a little latte art leaf, which was so pretty I didn’t even want to drink it. Thanks for making my day ❤️
First time visiting and I really enjoyed this little shop! Perfect indoor and outdoor seating, and nestled in an area where there is plenty of parking. I tried the peach mango refresher and it was exactly that! The perfect blend of peach and mango and refreshing! Highly recommend! I also tried what I believe was a cream cheese danish. Super yummy as well! Excellent customer service as well with little to no wait time during my visit. This will not be my last visiting to Rocket!
A nice and quiet coffee shop. The staff is friendly and the service is quick - dint have much of a wait time during my visit. The coffee was really good! Lot of options to choose from, and I’m sure to visit this place again.. I did not try the food here but the coffee was awesome! There is a lot of space for seating - they also have a huge patio outside. It is located within an apartment complex, of sorts.
Good local coffee shop but I was disappointed to see an 85 cent up charge for non dairy milks. I support a cost differential to offset the cost to the business, but 85 cents is a profit differential. It seems it used to be a 60 cent up charge so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt that this is influenced by tariffs or inflation. I was also using the online ordering so it’s possible that influenced it. Just logically as someone who knows the cost of these things though, I don’t see it. I’ll probably be returning either way because it’s the second closest place to Starbucks and I don’t support Starbucks.
Update: I went back and was impressed with the pastries and seasonal coffee offerings, though the options were a tad limited and the coffee was still pretty mild. Pros: They have a lovely deck area and plenty of free parking. They are also within walking distance of several apartments, homes, and other shops. Cons: I have gone twice now for coffee and pastries. Both times the coffee tasted watered down and the pastries were just okay. On both visits the pastries, which I don't think were fresh baked, options were limited, and they were given to me without being warmed up (though maybe they'd do it if you explicitly asked). Both times it was nearly empty of customers. I don't think this place is gonna make it. I hope they switch things up. I really want a good coffee shop within walking distance of my home.
Don’t know how this place has 4.8 stars. Coffee is not to the level of what’s expected. Matcha taste like water. Our latte tastes like milk. Their ratios and everything is off. Asked for honey and paid extra for it, did not get honey. Barista was nice. Only reason they are getting two stars.
