Ruta Maya Austin Reviews
The attendant was really good excellent service
Not sure why they have such low stars but I wanted to come leave a 5 star review as the service was stellar and the latte was perfect. I also got a carrot cake muffin that was much better than I anticipated from an airport. This will definitely be my coffee go to when flying through.
Fast and efficient. Best option in the Austin Airport for good quality coffee. I make the walk to this place even if I'm at the other end of the concourse. And to give them a 1 star because they no longer have your banana bread is ridiculous. Anyone who has worked in the service industry or has friends that have would understand how unnecessary and harmful that is to businesses. Also, a 16 oz latte or Americano typically contains two shots of espresso, whether it's hot or iced, with the rest of the drink filled with steamed milk (or cold milk and ice for iced) and flavorings. This is true at Dunkin, Starbucks, and Ruta Maya. It's a watered down espresso, as designed. If you want strong coffee, just order coffee or an espresso. Finally, for those who say there are better options for coffee in the airport, PLEASE TELL US where.
Got the salted caramel latte .. really enjoyed it ! Expensive, but so are all other coffee options in the airport.
idk about their coffee but I got the jalepeno cheese croissant and now Im mad that that isn't a common pastry bc omg sooo good!! (got it warmed up, unsure how itd be cold)

I love Ruta Maya coffee. Not sure why all the hate.

The only place (aside from Starbucks) in the airport with a decaf latte.
Great service!! Very friendly.
They purport to specialize in coffee. The coffee is worse than Starbucks worse than diner coffee. Why do places like this still exist? I promise so much they deliver so little in terms of coffee quality. A coffee place where they don’t know what a café Au lait is.

Only 2 espresso shots in a 16oz latte cup for $6! Next time will walk down further to Costa coffee machine.

Unfortunately this is a let down. I waited for 5 minutes but no one was behind the counter. When I finally went back, I asked for 2 cookies which came to a total of ~$5. The person behind the counter rang me up for 1 instead of 2. I can see $3.50 for an airport cookie but $5? The cookie was not even that big and was also somewhat hard. I will not be going back.

Bought an “americano” with a splash of almond milk. Tastes more like water and milk than coffee

They advertise their expertly and delicate sourced “organic” coffee, when in reality the vision really falls through the cracks. It isn’t difficult to brew a coffee through a real espresso machine (they burnt it bad with an automatized machine). If they step up their game this place would be a hit…
Coffee and muffin $12.99. Coffee is the worst airport coffee I’ve ever had. Oatmeal muffin, that I was told was from this morning, is stale, hard, and probably several days old. Would be taking them both back if my flight was not boarding.
$4.99 for double shot espresso! If you want a sip of milk, it is extra dollar. If you ask for a taller cup, it is another dollar extra. Do yourself a favor and just walk down and go to any other coffee shop.
Stood at the counter for over 15 minutes and no employee ever showed up. Asked the bartender next to the coffee counter if the coffee bar was open and she said yes, but never helped anyone in line or gave an explanation as to why there was no one working. 0 out of 10, would not recommend
They charge you an extra $1 for milk!! Told us after we had ordered so needed 2 transactions… complete rip off . So many other great places to get coffee
The counter isn't staffed all the time, so we arrived at the counter and eventually someone greeted us, but then when we weren't ready to order right at that moment, he disappeared and didn't come back for multiple minutes. Then the latte was $7.58 with tax and was really tasted like thr beans were burnt, so very low quality and not worth the price at all. So nasty that I threw it away after 2 sips ... I want a refund for this!
Stuff didn't even warm up our pastries until we ask them too. Gave us attitude. Matcha tea was disgusting. And a coffee was half of the amount that was needed. It takes a lot for me to give a bad review. This one definitely makes it easy.
I used to love stopping by Ruta Maya before my flights, especially for their banana bread. It was my little airport ritual. But lately, they’ve stopped carrying it, and that’s been a real disappointment. On a recent visit, I hoped it was back no luck. So I grabbed a muffin instead. I didn’t check the price at the counter (my fault, I know), but I figured it couldn’t be that bad. I got to my gate, opened the bag, and was stunned the muffin was tiny and ice cold. Then I looked at the receipt $7.58. For that? At least warm it up or make it worth the price. It wasn’t gourmet, it wasn’t fresh, and it definitely wasn’t worth it. I get that airport food is expensive, but this felt like a straight up gouge. I miss the banana bread days. Until they bring it back or rethink their pricing I’ll be walking past Ruta Maya next time.
Bad service!! The worker John was rude!! I arrived at 3:50am. The worker said he will open at 4am. I returned at 4:05am and was close. I asked the worker what time will he open and he responded another 5 to 10 minutes. I waited until 4:30am and again I asked how much longer. He responded all rude and said I will open when I can. That's when I left.
I ordered a 7$ cappuccino and received a 16oz cup of watery milk with the barest hint of bitter coffee flavor. I promptly threw it away.
Cappuccino tastes like lukewarm water with hint of coffee flavor additive.
