Santorini Cafe Austin Reviews
Great little spot, one of those places you might think to just drove on by, but don't! Staff was very friendly and smiling even late in the evening. Very nice outside seating area to enjoy the nice weather. Food was delicious, well seasoned and nothing was soggy or overdone!
We are new to the area and wanted to try some Greek food. The owner and staff were amazing, accommodating, and overall, provided excellent service! We ordered the Greek Salad w lamb, lamb gyro, and dolmades. The restaurant gave us beignets on the house, too. Beautiful outdoor seating combined with the perfect weather made our experience super enjoyable. Thank you, Santorini Cafe! We will definitely be back with more friends. :=)
Lamb gyro plate was simply superb. The seasoning or spices in the lamb is so delicious that it is downright addictive. Family who runs the place is so so friendly and very welcoming. Good selection of bottled beers and bottles of wine. Their prices are very reasonable and their portions are filling. Been a repeat customer for over a decade now. Sure I've eaten at other Greek food places in Austin, but the friendly staff and fair pricing keeps us coming back. Their iced tea is built into the soda fountain. So if you're an iced tea snob who needs fresh brewed well you might just grab a Pepsi or soda instead. Be sure to try their delicious pizzas too! The pizzas are made fresh and require a small wait time so grab yourself a cold beer and prepare for a tasty time.
I love this place. Its very casual, everyone is friendly and there is indoor and outdoor seating. Ive been here a few times and kept coming back but last night was the first time i ordered the soup. It seemed a little overpriced and i wasnt sure if i was going to like it but im so glad i got it. The bowl they give you is HUGE, piping hot, and absolutely delicious. Its hearty and salty and perfect for this cold weather. I now have a place to get good soup when i dont feel like cooking myself. I was very happy with my purchase.
I loved this place. The atmosphere was my favorite. It was like a quiet little hideaway that made me forget I was in Austin. The food was very good and all felt very fresh even though I came towards closing time. Service was quick, and we self seated in the patio area. The most impressive part to me how clean the outdoor patio was. The dirt in the window corners, the walls were clean, and tables and flooring. You can tell they genuinely care about this place and put their heart into their work and environment. I will most definitely recommend this place to others
I absolutely love Greek food and have tried a few restaurants since moving to Austin. This was a true gem. It felt like walking into a friends kitchen and being taken care of. The food was delicious and I would definitely go back to try other things. I had a lamb gyro and Greek coffee. Both were wonderful.
First time here and definitely not the last! The gyro meat was perfectly seasoned, tender, and not dry at all. The bread was fresh, delicious, and had a great buttery aroma that made the whole meal even better. The staff were nice and took the time to explain the menu. They even gave us dessert on the house! Highly recommend for anyone looking for good Greek food.
LOW KEY CASUAL GREEK AUSTIN VIBES! Was on my way to work and needed to grab some quick food. Found this strange pocket of restaurants off North Lamar, with several highly rated restaurants. Noticed this Greek place, which was the highest rated out of all of them and decided to try it since Greek is one of my favorite foods. The restaurant feels like a converted house, like a lot of original Austin restaurants. It’s got fun and cool decor, and a family owned feel, which I love. I ordered the chicken lunch plate and the baba ganoush to go. I was delighted and surprised to find a small bonus order of beignets with my food! Which is very nice The food is really good. The service was nice and the vibe was cool and casual. A great spot for lunch or a low-key dinner date. Would definitely recommend and eat here again.
Cute ma and pa shop located close to Chinatown. Was feeling a moussaka and this place was near the hotel. Boy was I surprised at how big and filling the portions were. The moussaka is basically an eggplant lasagna in my opinion. It camp with a big salad and a heap of fries. The owner also dropped us some free deserts. Not sure what it was called but it was basically fried donut holes drizzled with honey. Delish!!!
Super tasty little spot. Quick service and really kind workers. We loved the food and it was very familiar from when we visited Greece. The portions were huge and everything tasted fresh. The workers even gave us a little free dessert. I can tell this place is loved by the locals in the area.
Fantastic and fresh. Had the lamb gyro, one of the best I've had and their large Greek salad is huge! The service was great, family atmosphere.

I went solo as in town for conference. Fresh salad, lamb meat perfectly cooked. Crisp but moist. Good value for the price, too. Everything tasted fresh and scratch made.

In Austin for a get away and experience a new place. Greek food is one of my absolute favorites. The lamb gyro is amazing! One of the best I’ve eaten. Friendly staff and great place to dine!
I tried their dolamdes, saganaki, babaganoush and pita for appetizers. I enjoyed the babaganoush the most! The dolmades were decent. The saganki was lit on fire but still tasted pretty good. If you get their fish dish, it is fried. I got their meatball plate and enjoyed it too. We also got beignet which had honey on them. The texture was almost like mochi and chewy which were good. We went on a Saturday afternoon and they had live music which was really great to enjoy with friends and families.
First time trying Greek cuisine, so we have no knowledge or expectations how it goes, but then we enjoyed the food much! Chicken lemon soup is somewhat too sour for us, but very special kinda soup. Lamb plate, fish gyro and omelette were my favourite. I love how flavourful they are. The pita bread was great to go with, all the sauce and salad were well seasoned and complimented the food. And big portion!!
Very nice spot for a simple Greek lunch or dinner. The Greek wine selection is also decent. It would be nice if they painted a bit as the place looks worn. I also wonder if anyone who is Greek actu…
Place is quaint and service is nice. The Greek food is okay. The pita was yummy. The dolmas are alright. The chicken lemon soup was disappointing. The moussaka plate was meh. The lamb gyro and fish gyro were good! Based on reviews, expectations were high. Sadly, it's overall 3.4 and just not for me :( Guess I won't be eating anymore Greek food in Austin if it's the best in town.
