Wingzup Austin Reviews
Best Wings for sure. Got to try their smoked wings, they are amazing. I had the grilled on the right and smoked on the left and they were a hard choice... but definitely smoked wings is where its at. Atmosphere is nice, staff is awesome. Great experience, Rohan was our server and was awesome. Definitely see why they are the best wings in Austin for sure. Definitely try the smoked wings you wont be disappointed.
By far my most favorite wing place. So many flavors and options. My favorite is a toss up between smoked and golden. The flavor on Jamaican Jerk plus it's heat level may be my favorite spicey wing flavor with top honors going to jalapeño honey mustard - it's not hot but soooooo good.
Great food for cheap/fair prices. Extremely large tenders. I recommend the country tenders. Awesome flavor! Also comes with one of many different sauces to pick from for dipping purposes. Cant beat it! Definitely going back.
If Austin had a Wing Hall of Fame, Kayla and Marshall at WingzUp would be first-ballot legends. From the moment you walk in, they bring the heat before the wings even hit the fryer. Kayla’s energy is contagious—friendly, fast, and makes you feel like a regular even on your first visit. Marshall runs the place like a wing wizard, making sure every order comes out crispy, saucy, and absolutely flawless.
Fresh off the road from Dallas on our way to San Antonio, we made a pit stop in Austin based on a coworker’s raving review of the city’s top wing spot — and man, did it live up to the hype. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel right at home. Five-⭐ service all the way. But let’s talk about those wings. Perfectly crispy, smothered in bold flavor, impossible to stop at just one basket. We came for a quick bite and ended up sticking around for a second round. If you’re searching for the best wings in Austin, this place is the real deal. Worth the detour, worth every bite, and now our go-to stop anytime we’re in town. WingzUp isn’t just a restaurant 😜it’s a rite of passage for true wing lovers.
When Good Eats Austin asked it readers for suggestions of good places to get chicken wings, Wingzup Bar & Grill was suggested a bunch of times. I decided to check them out this week and, our readers don’t lie – their wings are lit! I decided to try both traditional bone in and boneless to get an idea of how both taste and of the quality of the meat. For the traditional, I always get a Medium Buffalo sauce so I can compare the taste from restaurant to restaurant. For the boneless, I usually get them plain and ask to taste their most popular sauces. Wingzup Medium Buffalo is everything you want in a wing, generous size, cooked perfectly with a sauce that sticks to the meat. Wingz up generously sauces their wings, so there are leftovers in the tray to dip your fries. If you don’t do that, you should start today. I always get Bleu Cheese dressing with wings, it was good and thick. For the boneless wings, I tried five different sauces – Jalapeno Ranch, Buffalo Ranch, Mango Habanero, Korean Sweet Chili, and a Korean Buldak. My favorite sauce of the five was the Korean Sweet Chili. The sauce gets its distinctive taste from a fermented red chili paste (Gochujang) combined with sugar. The combined flavors give you a sweet taste at first with a follow-up of a tangy, spicy (but not too hot) finish. Many of you may be familiar with the Buldak sauce which is often used to add heat and flavor to chicken ramen dishes. Like the Gochujang, Buldak used both sweet and spicy flavors. It is most often made using a chili extract and then adding in onion, garlic, soy sauce and corn syrup. The amount of chili extract controls the level of heat. Wingzup is not trying to smoke diners too bad, but if you’re not used to the flavor it will hit you a bit on that first bite. I really liked that one too. Stephanie, my waiter has been at Wingzup for almost five years. She recommended the Jalapeno Ranch, but let me know she loves to dip the fries in it. I definitely agree with her, and I has to ration some fries from my earlier medium buffalo sauce dipping ritual to soak up that goodness. The Mango Habanero is also very good, but once Stephanie brought me out the Korean Sweet Chili, I abandoned the rest of the cup. All of the sauces at Wingzup are homemade. Yes, you heard that correctly. A Korean couple own the restaurant, and the wife prepares every sauce from scratch. There is no Sysco truck bringing big jugs in this place. The couple came to Austin, after a stop in Canada for a few year. That is why you will see both a Korean and Canadian flair to some of the dishes. As an example, they offer four different types of Poutines on the menu, which is a dish of French fries and cheese curds topped with a brown gravy. It comes form the Centre-du-Quebec region of Quebec. Wingzup has the original version and some tasty variations. Wingzup has a full menu of items to choose from including a great burger that they run as a special on Thursdays for $10. You get the third-pound burger with fries on the side. I would forego my normal ketchup and mayo condiment combo to put some of the Sweet Chili sauce on top. Stephanie recommends trying the Fried Sliced Pickles as an appetizer. They also do a Fried Pickle Spear. Where do you ever see both on a menu? The ambiance of Wingzup is sort of sport bar-ish. There are a TON of televisions where you could watch ice hockey, curling or some of those American sports if you are so inclined. I really liked the wings a lot and would put this right up there with Anchor Bar in Round Rock and Wings and More in Pflugerville. Don’t forget Tater Que’s too. I’ve got eight other wing stops on this list, so we will see which of those make the upper tier. #MattGoodEats
First time eating in the facility. I've had it delivered at work and the wings were great...so I had to try them straight to the table and it did not disappoint! This is our new spot (hopefully you guys stay busy enough but still not hours long of waiting) what I mean is, it's still a hidden gem and once word gets out it's over!!! Anyways, give them a try, even when they do hear about yall-IT WILL BE WORTH A WAIT!!! I had the boneless buffalo ranch wings and the golden jalapeno ranch wings, both very tasty! Whatever the seasoning is on just the Golden wings is to die for!!! We will be back! Oh yeah, and the price is just right!!! You are paying for huge wings!!!
National Wingz Day...Wingz Up is the place to be. The wings are big & favorable. If u like some spicy, try any flavor in the orange/red spicy scale. Don't forget to try the adult beverages. We enjoyed shots and cocktails. The price for the wings and tenders may seem overpriced...but when I tell u it's really worth it. You will be back. I returned a week later with coworkers. I had the country style tenders. 😱🤯I ordered the 4 piece. And when I say I huge. Just check out the pic. Wingz Up wingz is on another level!!! Stop by.
i love going places with high expectations because you’ve read a bunch about it and it lives up to all the hype and then some! wingzup is such a great spot. sitting in an unassuming spot, you step in and it’s that classic atmosphere with lots of tvs, a bar, and friendly staff. then the wings arrive and you’ve realized you are definitely in the right place as they are cooked perfectly with great flavor. they have so many options it’s hard to pick, but honestly you can’t go wrong so keep going back!
I ordered delivery through Favor, and the food was sooooo good still with travel! And everything was correct. We got mushrooms, pickle spears, boneless wings medium buffalo sauce, bone in classic wings with garlic parm sauce. Cheese fries and garlic parm fries. Literally so yummy! I’d definitely dine in if I were in the neighborhood, and would definitely order take out again.
We tried this place while visiting town, it was seat yourself. Not busy when we got there. I heard that they have won best wings in Austin before so we gave it a try. First of all ordered some drinks, I can say micheladas are good and it's the first place where I have seen a Mexican candy Rita so I decided to try it. Our drinks were good, they offer a wide variety of beers and cocktails. They do have a small bar inside. They have daily happy hour too. On the wings they let us try the sauces before ordering, they have different styles of wings which make them unique and different from other places. Instead of ordering fried, we ordered smocked wings and they were delicious. Cooked to perfection, meat falling off the bone. They offer a ample variety of flavors going from non spicy to really spicy. We ordered Cajun and I tried the ghost wings, which are the spiciest the have. I can assure you that they were spicy. Not for everyone. Added some garlic parmesan fries, also really good and generous in portion. We loved the service, the atmosphere, and we highly recommend it.
Ordered the fried mushrooms, waffle fries, sweet potato fries, Original, Country, and Golden style wings. The mushrooms were huge and ok. Both the waffle fries and sweet potato fries were very good. Nice simple fries made great. I wasn't a big fan of the Country style wings. I thought the batter was light and the taste was off. The Original were tossed in hot sauce. The wings were really good. The hot is HOT. I could taste the heat after the first wing. By far, my favorite were the Golden wings. I did dip them, but mostly ate them as is. The place had a great vibe if you're a sports fan. The service was great. Our waitress was friendly and checked on us regularly. I would come back for the Golden wings for sure.
I visited Wingzup two months ago for the first time and it was an amazing experience. The wings were cooked perfectly and there were so many good sauces.\n\nI returned last Sunday (Super Bowl Sunday)…
I really love this place, their fried mushrooms are to die for! Well priced, better than pluckers.

Food is always fresh and delicious! There is a great variety of options. The wait time is a little long but it is worth it. Lots of TV's with sports playing for a great happy hour!

Wingzup is the ideal sports bar. It’s what you wish Buffalo Wild Wings was. The wings are worth every cent, the burgers are great, it is perfect bar food. but, every time we come something happens with the service. Either gotta flag someone down for plates and silverware or it’s obvious that something in the kitchen came up way earlier than the other thing and so one items hot and the other ones dead, the beer list is always out of date and the server doesn’t know what’s on draft, and I understand taking care of your regulars but completely ignoring the rest of your tables and then giving attitude when someone has to ask a different server for something - one check in during a meal is not too much to ask. I am a bartender and server too so I am sympathetic to a certain point, but come on dude.
We were pleasantly surprised by the food here! Just passing through Austin and had a craving for wings! I didn’t expect much from a sports bar, as we do not appreciate the overstimulating environment with so many tvs and games and noise, but decided we wanted to try the “best wings in Austin.” The Old Fashioned was the best one I’ve had! The medium flavored wings were perfectly cooked, wet with sauce and super flavorful. The curry flavor was rich, aromatic and deliciously spicy! The garlic Parmesan fries were evenly coated with seasoning and were crispy even after sitting as we ate our wings. The only negative was that I never received the lemon I requested with my water, and we didn’t receive a “bones bucket” that we saw other tables had. This was a fantastic eating experience and would recommend the food here over and over!
“Wingzup was an amazing experience! The wings were incredibly delicious, with an impressive variety of sauces to choose from. There’s something for every taste, whether you like your wings mild or packed with heat. The location had a great vibe, making dining there even more enjoyable. The fries were also outstanding, with a wide range of options, including sweet potato fries and classic French fries, all perfectly seasoned. Although our service took a bit longer than expected, the food quality more than made up for it. Every bite was worth the wait, and we quickly forgot about the delay. I’m definitely coming back for more! Highly recommended for wing and fry lovers.”

If you are going to order wings from here, you have to get the Golden. They are so much better than their normal wings. They're crispy and juicy. We ordered takeout and had to sauce them ourselves …
"Best wings in America and Austin" as voted by people who have definitely never had wings in Buffalo NY. I worked at two of the top wing places in Buffalo (Duffs & Gabriel's Gate) before moving here eight years ago. The sauce, wing size, and moisture of the chicken here is decent, but the wings are soggy when sauced. Wings that stay crispy after being sauced is the difference between excellent chicken wings, and average chicken wings. It's clear that: 1. They don't brine/pull moisture out of the skin the night before with baking powder and salt. 2. They don't let the wings dry above the fryer before tossing in sauce. This leads to an inferior product. There are several places in Austin I'd refer people to instead for a good crispy Buffalo wing. Among them at the time of writing are Home Slice, and Nickel City/Del Rey.
