Pancho Villa Mexican Grill Avenel Reviews
My first time trying this place and it was amazing food 10/10 I got nachos / tacos and a chimichanga(desert) it was amazing
On my first visit to this restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that they serve some of the finest Mexican food I’ve ever tasted - and I’ve been to quite a few places. The decor was charming, complete with a Pancho Villa statue, adding to the authentic feel. The restaurant was clean and offered a wide variety of dishes and drinks. While they don’t serve alcohol, it’s a BYOB establishment. The only downsides were the difficulty in finding street parking - I’m not sure if they offer free parking, it’s worth asking - and the service was a bit slow despite it not being busy. Overall, the excellent food and ambiance more than made up for these minor issues.
The food is amazing, and people are always smiling and making sure you are taken care of
Authentic Mexican cuisine. Knowing some Spanish helps when you call or dine. I love the taco box special, 10 mixed chicken, pork and beef tacos with cucumber and radishes and sweet onions for 28 bucks. The Flautas and Beef Nachos are awesome too. Love this place. They do deliver.
I'm currently 14 weeks pregnant and we all know when the cravings hit, they HIT. I'm very sorry to say my cravings hit at an awful 10:30pm. They close at 11:30, at least on Uber eats. But I ordered, and let me tell you. They did not disappoint! The food was warm, fresh, and SO GOOD. But I do want to apologize for ordering so late. You guys were amazing 💕
Great food. Great service. The restaurant is always clean. I usually order the pineapple drink and tostadas. This is my go to spot when I want Mexican food.
I order from this place a decent amount and love the burritos. I’d like to preface that if it wasn’t for this incident, I’d absolutely give it five stars. Tonight, we ordered burritos. While my boyfriend was eating his, he felt something small but hard in his mouth. He at first thought it was uncooked rice but realized it wasn’t getting any smaller. When he took it out, we noticed it was a small but sharp piece of plastic. Please please establish a quality control if not done so already. I’m sure this is a one-off incident, but this could have ended badly. This plastic could have cut my boyfriend’s throat if he had swallowed it. So maybe quality control, inspecting the supply, etc. I appreciate your business taking the time to read this ☺️
Food was slightly bland. No one working there spoke any English. Tried to order tea and got hot chocolate instead. The staff are friendly but I would rate higher if they had at least one person working that understood English.
Went there 2 days ago. The waitress was pleasant. The restaurant was nice, clean and welcoming. Ordered 2 chicken tacos and 1 steak taco. Steak taco was delicious, it made me wish I had ordered 3 steak tacos. The chicken tacos on the other hand were not good. Chicken was bland, no seasoning and had a lot of fatty parts and gristle. Definitely would not get the chicken tacos again.
This restaurant was recommended by an acquaintance and based on several reviews regarding long wait times for meal prep, I tried to call in my order for pick-up. The 1st call, a young lady answered and only spoke Spanish, so she laughed and hung up on me because I spoke to her in English. I waited, called back and asked (in Spanish) to speak to a manager & the same young lady put the phone down & told someone “she’s calling back” and then she hung up the phone. A Spanish speaking friend and I drove there to order in person (it was 11:30am on a weekday). The two young ladies at the counter seemed annoyed to have customers and after ignoring us and walking back & forth behind the counter, finally asked for our take-out order. My friend deliberately remained quiet as I ordered. The server repeated back my order to me in broken English, with a bit of help from her coworker. The loud music that was playing, did not help the situation because I was asked to speak louder, instead of them turning down the volume. My order of tacos took 35 minutes to prepare (there were no other customers in the restaurant) as we sat and waited and listened to that same server loudly chopping veggies with a cleaver (also seen/heard in my posted video) as the loud music continued to play. I asked for a pre-packed slice of cold tres leche cake as the “cleaver slinging” server was packing my order and she let out an annoyed sigh and threw it in the bag with the warm tacos. When I unpacked my order at home, I was disappointed at the serving portion size, considering the high price and I was underwhelmed by the lack of spice and bland flavor, although the trés leché cake (baked by an off-premise bakery) was good. I definitely will not ever return here.
This place has become a joke , overpriced meals and take forever an hour and 15 minutes for 2 simple orders , on top of that the amount of meat is just a bad joke , really need a new place to eat , $35 dollars just for cold tortillas 👎👎
I just ordered Chicken Burrito and look what i found.very disappointed 😏
Very bad..i always order from here but whenever i ask for extra salsa they give me 1 less salsa instead of1 extra for 2 entrees..i gues the employees there don't care or just does it intentionally for fun...please look at this management should fire these kind of employees...I will never ever order feom here again...Just ruin my mood
Attitude so bad it can kill from your appetite to your love of Mexican food. The bad Attitude starts from waistres to register attendant, I guess they are use to treat all clients the same, no knowledge of how to treat good paying customers. 👎👎👎
Never go here. Not sure if it's because we're not Hispanic enough or just that he service is terrible. We ordered our meal and then waited over an hour just for the guacamole appetizer. After another 30 minutes still no dinner and upon asking were told it was ready. Finally 10 minutes later we walked out and heard the staff say "gracias" sarcastically as we left. Going to Taco Bell instead.
You will be cheated out of your money . This people will not keep the promise when it comes to service or delivery. If you want , give it a try , but my experience was terrible. I will never order from here again.
Really disappointed in the quality of food. I’ve waited 4 orders to post a review. It’s honestly a hit or miss. 1 time in person was delicious. 3 times ordering for delivery was not great. I’ve ordered the lengua tacos- way too much fatty chunks in the tacos. I know what I’m ordering, and although this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, lengua can be quite delicious and lean. Panchos unfortunately hasn’t gotten this right. Even the lean bits have no flavor at all. The “ceviche mixto” is nothing more than the frozen mix seafood bag you get at SUPERFRESH in middlesex. Literally the exact mix I purchase myself for quick meal at home so this is FAR from authentic. Needless to say, I won’t be ordering from here again.
The chicken tacos had cross contamination issues. There was bits of pork or something in 2 of them and a chunck of unmelted cheese in another. The food was unseasoned and did not taste fresh at all. Unfortunately, I did not finish my food and I still got an upset stomach afterwards.
They clearly don't care about repeat business. They over charge and try to take advantage. Some of the food is fast. Some is OK. The service is mediocre at best
This place is the worst Mexican restaurant in Somerset county by far. It took them five minutes for them to ring me up because the staff were fooling and playing around in the back, I saw like 3 kids literally getting in the way of the people prepping the food, anybody can see it wasn’t a professional atmosphere. The food was over priced and not only that I ordered chicken flautas that had almost no chicken and on top of that I found a toothpick in one of them that I almost swallowed. THE ESTABLISHMENT IS A DISGRACE go somewhere else
