Kaff Kafé Avenue J Reviews
Great bakery, they sell lunch as well.
If you are West Indian and you need hot bread or what we call “hops bread” this is the spot to get it. They have freshly made bread daily. Their coffee is also reasonably priced. I get an xtra large coffee for $2.25, Starbucks charges me almost $4.
Kaff’s Bake Shop — Where Self-Control Comes to Be Mevatter Itself Walking into Kaff’s is basically like walking into a simcha where every table is the Viennese dessert table. You come in thinking, I’m just grabbing one thing, and the next thing you know you’re holding a box the size of a shalach manos wagon and explaining to yourself why “it’s for the kids.” The pastry cases here are sheer gevurah. Rows of rugelach, cookies, danishes — each one looking like it was handcrafted by someone who davens with extra kavana on Rosh Hashanah. The colors, the smells… by the time you reach the register you’re already plotting your next visit. The Sandwich Bar: Don’t sleep on it. Whoever came up with the make-your-own sandwich idea deserves a bracha. You throw together a sandwich and suddenly you feel like you’re running your own fleishig establishment, except it actually comes out good. Staff: Always friendly, always patient — even when you’re standing there having an existential crisis between the chocolate horns and the vanilla rugelach. Vibes: Very heimish, very neighborhood, very “oh, look, I know that guy from somewhere.” In other words: perfect. If you’re anywhere near Avenue J and you don’t stop in, you’re being mechallel the minhag ha’makom. Just go. Get something. Get everything. You’ll thank me later.
Good food amazing prices
This bakery has an incredible selection of fresh challahs, pastries, cakes, and boxes of cookies, along with plenty of individual treats to choose from. The coffee is always good, and the breakfast and lunch options are a nice surprise for a bakery setting. The sandwich and omelette bar is excellent, with generous portions and great flavor. Everything tastes fresh and homemade, and the variety makes it a perfect stop for a meal or something sweet to take home.
Very good coffee all day long:)
Make your own sandwich! Guacamole, corn, onion, eggplant with pickles was great!
I bought a take out lunch it was delicious and the service as well and the prices as well thanks for being there
We bought a bday cake, and it was delicious. Their soups are great, and the vanilla rugalach are my favorite!
This place is super clean. The staff are friendly. I got the bagel with tuna and some hash browns. The bagel was fresh and great . However the hash browns were very disappointing they look amazing but lack on flavor. The coffee is has that great aromatic coffee smell that will get you charged up and ready for the day a head. The bakery items are top shelf and highly recommended. The staff clearly care a great deal because they keep this place immaculately clean.
Beautiful Clean Modern and Neat Cafe just off J and 28th in a perfectly convenient location. The staff is friendly is helpful and polite, the dairy and fish menu is extremely diverse so consider the fact that you have a very large selection of what to choose from. they have a great sandwich and Panini bar as well as several hot stations to choose from all a very much up to date experience not lagging behind its Boro Park competition.
Lovely neighborhood bakery shop that operates early on in the day; you can tell that the community is made of friendly staff and patrons. Lots of coffee options that are all pretty decent, but they also have lots of pre-packaged, fresh-baked pastries, and a grab-and-go section for fridged pastries and small lunches. They also sell cheesecakes, birthday cakes, and candles! You can pay with credit card here as well.
Delicious pastries, cakes and cookies beautifully displayed. It's not just a bakery though, they got a full like of freshly made ready to go sandwiches and salads, or you can create your own salad or sandwich, plus they have soups and a selection of coffee, iced coffees and cold drinks. Great place to shop.
Ran inside to grab an easy quick lunch. Firstly parking is awful as it's on J and Nostrand but there's metered parking and people usually come and go. Love what they've done with the design of the bakery. It's modern, neat and clean. They have a fully stocked fridge of ready made salads, fruits, and pastries. Fresh bread and rolls available at all times. I took a ready made salad from the fridge as I'm in a rush. Picked the euro salad. It was fresh, delicious and the perfect healthy eats for my afternoon. Got a coffee with that. All for under $10. (Impressive as it's kosher) I'd tell you to avoid the heavy lunch rush as the store gets super packed and not much place to move around. I'll definitely be back for more salads.
Please add cappacino to uber eats menu
Unfortunately the best kosher bakeries in the area of days past have not been replaced with others of the same quality. However, if you need kosher baked goods this option is okay. It looks clean and appetizing, and the sufganiot for Chanukah were alright. Wish there were more options but I'd go back.
The ready made salads have less ingredients than it supposed to have. They charge more for ready made salads with spring mix while many times they put just lettuce which is cheaperm
Incredibly racist and rude, exclusionary, they treat my entire family that goes in there to spend their hard earned money (nearly $2 for one roll) like we’re doing them a favor!! And like they cant wait for us to leave the store… Hate that it’s the only place to get fresh bread in the neighborhood. Otherwise I would never come back!!
I was in the area for work and looked up a coffee shop this one was the closest. Was not a very friendly atmosphere. The girl behind the counter treated me as I was inconveniencing her. She didn't even greet me and when I said hi to her, she gave me a smug hi back. What a shame because the coffee and danish I purchased was really good.
