Jin Sushi has been on my radar for a long time, but it wasn’t until recently that I finally sat down with my mamá and two sisters to enjoy lunch here. Now I understand why people talk about this place the way they do. From the moment the dishes began arriving, it was clear that presentation is part of their art form. Every roll and plate was decorated with care, sauces drizzled with intention, and fresh garnishes placed just right. It’s the kind of detail that makes you pause before diving in — though once you do, the flavors absolutely back it up. The staff matched the quality of the food with service that was swift, efficient, and attentive without ever hovering. Even as the restaurant bustled, everything came out smoothly, giving us the chance to simply relax and enjoy our time together. Jin Sushi isn’t just another sushi stop downtown — it’s a dining experience worth repeating, whether you’re with family, friends, or flying solo. Beautifully plated, deliciously crafted, and consistently impressive. 🍣✨

They've updated the place so it's very nice. The patio is beautiful and a nice place to sit when the weather is good. Service was excellent, our server was very attentive and the food came out quickly, it came while we were eating our appetizers. The food was tasty and very fresh. We got a few rolls that I forgot to take a picture of because we were so hungry. But trust it was great. The crab stuffed mushrooms are a must have. Easily my favorite place for sushi in Bakersfield.

Staff was very friendly and prompt. I feel as a single diner, they treated me just the same at the sushi bar as they would a 4-top. The rolls are a little pricey but worth the real crab (oh!my!God! Roll), attention to detail and flavor of the artfully cut fish. Homemade saki is a must.

Great vibrant atmosphere, delicious food in the cool area! Had candy cane roll and it was really very good. Tempura udon was also a good choice for sure and its noodles tasted very chewy! Finally, had a really good time enjoying house sake.

Everything was solid, not over the top, just good. Waitress did not explain what anything was on the sampler platter I ordered, but everything on it was good. Just wish I knew what it was

Jin Sushi 🍣 did a Remarkable Job with the Out Door Dining and Have one of the Best Happy Hour Menus Hands Down in Bako a $4/$5/$6 menu to chose from as me and my companion started with the Seaweed salad 🥗 $4 the portion was Good but was a bit over Marinated for my taste and didn't have that Crunch of a bite that I prefer.My Companion didn't mind to my surprise as she is a Picky Eater! Then we order the Spicey Crab/ Shrimp Rolls Each. Very Good and fresh and for 4 bucks was a Steal followed up with the Salmon Tempura Roll,Tuna Roll and what was my Favorite "The Monkey Brains" which to my Dismay of the Name was Stuffed Tempura Mushrooms with Shimp! 5 stars on this plate! Presentation was Beautiful and inviting also decided to try the Pineapple 🍍 sake. Good if you have never had Sake and Easy on the Pallet. Again only 6 bucks and enough for 2 to enjoy. We Sat out in the New Patio as of Covid which felt like we were in LA or a Coastal feel to it.Very Nice. Service was their only flaw as the Host Sat us Down and our Waitress was either Busy taking Care of Out doors and Indooors because I Had to ask who is our Waitress? As we were Not Attended to and Acknowledged. It was some what busy so i will give that a Pass this time and she was Nice and Friendly and did Apologize! That was our only Hiccup. Total bill $42.00 and we Had plenty to take home.Parking was Challenging but public Parking Garage is on the next Block if needed. I Coach P🧢 rates this a "SOLID TRIPLE"! And Look forward to trying the other options inside to ensure Service??

Great place on Downtown Bakersfield. Good Menu and creative presentations. Wished they had Tofu on their menu to help people that are vegetarian. Also a possibility for a NA beer would be great as 15% of America drinks NA cocktails/Beer. Staff is nice and courteous. The dining room was nice and warm on a cold evening. Wish there was a place to wait inside for a table on a cold/hot day.

Really liked the basic Albacore roll. The Jin special was good too, but heavy. Will definitely be coming back while I'm in town to try a couple other things. Service was exceptionally friendly. Pretty cool atmosphere and decent lighting. If you're around I'd stop in!

First time here and won't be going back. We went on a slow night to avoid the weekend crowd, and thier service still wasn't too great. Food wasn't great either, it wasn't bad but not great for what I paid. We also got some green tea and it had a really weird smell. Overall for what I paid, it wasn't worth it.

Okay, so I have mixed feelings about this place. I'll start by saying I very much enjoy the relaxed atmosphere at JIN. I even really like the makeshift outdoor dining - even if it is a little wonky. My issue is that the dishes are either AMAZING or not good at all. I inquired about the oysters and was told they were fresh - they were not. Don't get me wrong, I don't have high expectations in Bakersfield to have outstanding oysters... But these were plain awful. The Jalapeno Poppers, Sushi Rolls, and soups are fantastic.... But the fried rice tastes like it has frozen veggies instead of fresh. All in all, I probably would try JIN again, and if I do - I'll adjust this comment accordingly.

WORST SERVICE EVER Came here for dinner. Restaurant was about 1/2 to 2/3 full. We were seated quickly. Waited for over 20 minutes. Nothing. No water, absolutely nothing. Got up and asked a server if we could get some water. After another 7 minutes still no one came to our table. After almost 30 minutes of waiting to at least get water we got up and left. It’s evident that there is no supervisor on site, or at least not one that cares about their customers. There are a lot of great restaurants in town. This is NOT one of them!

First off, I tried calling to talk to the manager instead of leaving a review. After being on hold the person said “before I hand off the call to my manager, can I ask what this is regarding?” I told him I had a complaint. Then the manager was suddenly unavailable to take my call. I told the person I was just trying it have a conversation about the lack of service instead of leaving a bad review online. Waited over 15 minutes after being seated and still had no contact with server or any staff, not even getting water for the table. Went over to the staff area and let them know we had been seated for about 15 minutes and no one had been over to take our order or bring waters/drinks. Went and sat back down and waited for about 5 more minutes before leaving. Restaurant was half full with many seats open. Several folks came in after us and were already getting served their food orders. Very disappointing. Food is good but service is subpar. Probably be okay to order to go…same level of service.

Took my 8 year old here as an award after an athletic event, her choice. My older daughter has been here several times and I’ve heard nothing but good things about the food. Service was slow and unwelcoming. The California rolls and chicken fried rice were deceiving, they appeared perfect and delicious but were hard and undercooked. Based on my expectations I was highly disappointed and will not be returning.

Absolutely disgusting! Although the food looks good. The whole restaurant reeks of rotten seafood and spoiled ingredients. After eating here, I was sick within an hour — severe stomach pain and diarrhea. This place is a health hazard. Stay far away!
