Henry's Tavern Ballston Spa Reviews
Great Mac N Cheese! Good atmosphere, friendly service, and a lot of selections. Nice place to relax and watch the games Got the chicken salad to which was also excellent.
There twisted Mac and cheese is my favorite and it was especially delicious on July 2nd. I think it about to often. I've tried the regular chicken and BBQ chicken and both were really good! We also had the nachos and those were good too! Margarita was delicious and the service and staff were great! Definitely recommend!
Came in for lunch and the food and service were beyond expectations. We found a very friendly atmosphere with plenty of great lunch choices. The Market Salad was plentiful and the maple vingerette was absolutely delicious. The turkey club boasted a hearty sandwich which included several strips of perfectly crisp delicious bacon. Sherry who served us was very friendly, attentive and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommended if you like really good food and a warm friendly atmosphere.
Went there today and was very happy.. 4 of us ordered different things and everyone was completely happy. Our waitress was so nice. She was very attentive. The food was amazing, I ordered boneless wings. Its not like a chicken tender. More like stir fry thickness but it was absolutely delicious. They had large portions, very nice atmosphere, seating. I would definitely recommend
I found this place on my way to see a concert at SPAC. So glad I did. It checked all the boxes. Our server was excellent. There's lots to choose from the menu. I had the chicken pot pie and loved it. And there's a good selection of drinks, too. I won't have to look again when I'm back for another show.
This was a sudden choice for brunch and wow it was a good one, the pictures of the food I had to try to hide I took a few bites, but it looked so good I couldn't wait. They have a really generous brunch menu, with many choices from eggs on waffles and burgers . The pub style atmosphere was very cozy. The wait staff was accommodating and right there whenever we needed anything. The eggs Benedict was a 10! The croissant sliders were so good. We also tried the deviled eggs, they had wonderful strips of maple candied bacon, that alone would have been enough for the visit! Great vibe and food. I'll be back for dinner
Ordered takeout through their website on a Saturday night at dinner time and it was ready in about 40 minutes just as the website estimated. They got my food quickly when I arrived. I have never eaten in the restaurant before but it seemed like a nice atmosphere. They had a live band, they sounded good but it was very loud, so if you are planning on eating there be aware of that. The food was great, big portions, very reasonable price. The burger (medium well) was quite lean (locally sourced beef) which was actually a nice change compared to other restaurant burgers. I will definitely get Henry’s again!
Another adventure in brunch. Small cozy restaurant. Very busy. Wait for seating was not too bad and DEFINITELY worth the wait. Robert the waiter was AMAZING!! He was so friendly and very attentive even with having multiple tables. Of course if you follow my adventures I ordered a Bloody Mary. Nice flavor with a decent amount of spice. Did my salt and pepper thing though just for a bit extra flavor. My daughter got the mimosas of course with pineapple juice. She said it was good. For foods I ordered the french toast with bacon and a side of scrambled eggs with cheese. They are another place that makes the eggs nice like a frittata. The french toast was good and the bacon was a nice thick cut bacon. Cooked perfectly. My daughter got the #donutsayno. She said it was tasty. My granddaughter got the flappy jacks with bacon and a side of scrambled eggs and cheese. She gave the chef 120 stars LOL. My daughter ordered the pancake pops as a starter. Thick but light and fluffy - so good. Overall a wonderful experience with great service and delicious foods!! If you go ask for Robert to be your waiter. You won't be disappointed!!
Great food and great customer service! We started off with the half size Guinness Poutine appetizer which is Henry's hand cut fries smothered with a traditional Guiness brown gravy and cheese curds for $6/$10 full size. For my entree I chose Henry's Mac and Cheese, which is Campanella pasta smothered in a creamy five cheese sauce, and I added chicken for an extra $3, standard mac is $14. Nice ambience to the establishment and a pretty decent size bar.
Honestly so happy I finally tried Henry's. Went for an early dinner and the food was amazing! It was so hard to choose what to order since everything sounded amazing. Highly recommend the chicken wings. Super crispy and delicious. And the staff was super friendly. Can't wait to go back.
Perfect location, good parking and a stellar menu. All the usual pub fare, quick service and a friendly staff. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time, hot and delicious. The food was very tasty, and the fish and chips was not greasy like is found at so many places.
I got take out. Maybe it was the ordering app, but prices were quite expensive. I know food prices are expensive everywhere, but $25 for an order of wings is way too high. Everything I got was great. Reuben was excellent, fish fry was great. Nice and crisp.
Ordered food to go. The system got the order wrong and we were missing food which we had to wait for. They did get the sandwich made in about 10 minutes which was great. However, food was nothing special. Even found cartilage pieces in the chicken. Has a cool vibe inside though, would like to try again eating in person. Tried in person and food was great. Although, burgers were over cooked. However, service was slow even on a slow night and they had us move tables in the middle of the meal for a reserved party. Same size party, different table location, very odd.
Henry's Tavern was a fun night out with friends. We had heard good things about the food and I was excited to try it for myself. We started with 2 flavors of wings, both excellent (maple bourbon and the spicy bbq). Wings were meaty and flavorful. Also ordered the Irish nachos as an appetizer and loved them as well. Waffle fries were crispy and delicious and there was plenty of corned beef and cheese on top. No one ordered dinners, but we did add a few more appetizers and soup for the next course. French onion soup was delicious - flavorful and rich. Boneless wings also great (their blue cheese is clearly homemade and I wanted to take a pint of it home with me). I was personally not a fan of the onion rings or the mozzarella sticks. The onion rings were thick and soft, the exact opposite of my preference for thin and crispy. If that is the kind you like, though, these would be perfect. Mozzarella sticks were odd- like huge logs of mozzarella, lightly breaded but without any real seasoning, and just warmed. No crispy coating, kind of like eating a warm slab of cheese. I would be interested in going back to try out the meals next; several of the sandwiches/burgers and the fish and chips seemed appealing too. Also, they are currently holding Wing Night Wednesdays, with $1 wings, so a dozen would be $12 instead of $17.
A darn shame it's come to this, but I can't give anything higher than a 3/5 based on the meal I dug into at home. Put in an order for pickup and got to the restaurant exactly at when the ready time said it would be, waited for a couple minute while they grabbed my order and was on the road home. Mind you my trip home is about 30 to 45 minutes, so I never deduct points for temperature. When I did get home and opened everything up I thought it all looked pretty good, and I was very excited to dig into the meal. I was looking forward to it all week long after all. Well let's start with the good, the Turkey Ruben was great! Lot's of turkey, fresh sauerkraut, a nice layer of dressing and the bread was grilled just right. That's the good, now, the bad. The onion rings were floppy and oily, no crunch and no flavor. Their paired sauces did add some of the flavor I sought, but because of how oily they were the sauces were muddled. And the crab corn chowder was really fresh, so fresh it tased like they scooped the crab out of the ocean not minutes before serving it, right along with the ocean. It was the most salty soup I have had in years, I could almost hear the salt crunch in my teeth as I ate it. Yucky. A true shame that only 1/3 of my meal items were passable, since I was recommended this location by a family friend. Unfortunately I do not see myself returning for my Friday restaurant explorations.
I got the Green Goddess and it was suppose to have pesto and avocado. It had a little of the latter but no pesto and very little cheese and as you can see it was burnt to a crisp. I think it had one slice of cheese. I can't believe they would serve such a disaster!
Failing on every level. Sat at the bar, dirty dusty. Another uneducated bartender & management keeping the vermouth on the shelf “because that’s where it’s been everywhere I’ve worked” New England clam chowder, reasonably seasoned, served lukewarm and gloopy. Fish & Chips, over cooked fish. Past flakey into dry territory. No seasoning on the fried food. Aka basics. Fries were reasonable, plenty of lemon wedges and surprisingly malt vinegar was available. Orzo pasta salad, Olive oil was the only discernible flavor. No salt, no acid, just bland.
My friend and I ate here last month.. We ordered a wrap and a panini plus a wine and a lemonade. The bread choices we had and the sides we ordered were the regular choices you could pick for these items at no extra charge. The ONLY upcharge listed on the menu were for sweet potato fries or a salad, which we did not order. The prices for both of these items on the menu said $13. (They still do). We were charged $15.00 for these items instead of the $13. Not only that, but the receipt shows two random charges with no explanation - one for $2.50 and one for $1.00. I thought the bill sounded a bit high but my friend had taken the receipt and given it to me after we left and when I got home I discovered that we had been overcharged by $7.50! Apparently $11.00 for a tiny glass of wine wasn't enough? I scanned the receipt and I emailed it to Henrys that same day figuring if I emailed them the actual receipt they would respond. NOTHING. That would be $7.50 plus tax plus tip. Eating out today has become quite the frustrating and tedious thing to do not to mention the price gouging which is going on almost everywhere to the point of ridiculous. This is not a slight overcharge - it is a big overcharge especially when there is no explanation and it totally contradicts the menu. We feel scammed and ripped off. And the service was ridiculously slow - not only waiting for someone to come to our table but to also get our food and the place wasn't even full. I doubt I will go back to Henry's and I will be sure to tell others I know to not go there as well. I hope all of you out there are carefully checking your receipts for food or for whatever you purchase.
Been here a few times. It's always slow but the waitresses are friendly. Really skimpy on the meat in the sandwiches. The chicken salad sandwich was all bread, barely any chicken salad. BBQ burger was light on barbeque. The onion sticks were stringy and got caught in my teeth. Lots of onion on it too, when it already has onion sticks. For how nice the place is, the experience is just "meh" 👎
My husband and i went there for food and the pictures on line look great. When i got my chicke salad sandwich it was hot not cold. My onion rings were so oily. My husband got the boneless wings and they were horrible. They were so dried out. He also got a bacon cheeseburger plain and asked for medium well and it was very well done. The waitress suck and we waited almost 15 minutes for drink. I would not recommend at all. And I got home and got so sick from my sandwich. Will definitely be calling the health department on them.
