Taberna Gallega Barcelona Reviews

Lovely atmosphere with excellent service and great staff. Left a very cute birthday surprise!! Great portions and taste, would recommend any day!
The food was delicious, the staff were really friendly, and the atmosphere was great. Naima was especially wonderful, so helpful with everything and very kind. Honestly, I might come back just because of her service. Thanks so much!
When I walked into this restaurant it felt like walking into a 5 Star restaurant with the meticulous details in their preparation. Their staff was professional and very kind. They were passionate about the food they served and proud of the recommendations we asked them to provide. Of course the best part was the food. We had a traditional paella that was the best that we ever had. We scraped the skillet clean. My father-in-law who is not easy to impress said the spaghetti bolagnase was the best he ever had. It was a great atmosphere and I would highly recommend this place!
My daughter wanted to try something new, so we ordered the Cantabrian turbot for two—though it easily could have served three. My other daughter chose the baked goat in its own juices, which was equally delicious. We also followed the waiter’s wine recommendation and were very happy with the pairing. We’ll definitely be coming back soon.
I didn‘t expect that the food in this restaurant was full and fresh. The environment is very comfortable with air conditioning and ventilation systems. It is very comfortable to sit on the first floor downstairs, and the light is beautiful. The three-colour puzzle craft made by wood chips looks very advanced. I highly recommend the seafood platter. It’s so delicious and fresh. There are no extra seasonings. It‘s a perfect combination of sea salt, olive oil, garlic and green onions. It is especially worth mentioning that we are sitting downstairs. The staff in charge of us is so friendly and careful. He is Masud😆I was very touched by his service. It is absolutely professional. Recommended for those who love seafood! The cake is delicious and the red wine is the feeling of dancing happily on the tip of the tongue.
Completely impressed with the food, the service, the atmosphere. Wish I could’ve made time to visit again while in Barcelona. The drinks were fantastic. Started with some red house wine, then some Estrella beer and to top off the night a few shots of what tasted like absinthe. The night was amazing
The service is absolutely amazing!!! We haves been 3 times already and really enjoyed every time. They take great care of us at all times. The food is really good and with quality. For us the best was the octopus and the jamón. Also had a really good paella for 3 that was really good. Over all good experience.
From the nice gentlemen in Cartier glasses who greeted us to our waiter Mario to the bus bus boys the service was outstanding. The sea bass was especially delicious. The lobster could have been better. The wines and Cava they recommended were really a great pairing. And the special digestive drink they gave us is still giving my tastebuds flashbacks 🤤. We had a fantastic time, hope whoever is reading this does also.
Repetiremos seguro
Food is good. Service is decent, but I think quite clearly tourists missed out by not speaking Spanish. Service warmed up after trying to speak some Spanish. I know this city has a polarizing view toward tourists, but I already speak 4 languages, English being the most international language I know. Accepts credit cards. Gets busy during meal hours.
The ambient itself is a bit old-fashioned (like 80's) BUT...The offer (menu, size of portions, taste itself and the waiter) are totally something to recommend. I gave 4 stars only because of the ambient.. But then again, are you coming in the restaurant to enjoy the view(that's also something what you get if you are sitting on their, not so representative terrace, pictures below) or to have a proper meal?! 😉 I've ordered T-bone steak and when I saw a REAL T-BONE STEAK (📷below) in front of me I was more than happy (my tummy as well) 😁
We found this place on google. The service was so good. The appetisers were wonderfull and the wine the staff recommended was the perfect pair for the food we ordered. The fried calamari and baked fish with cheese and vegetables as well as the desert were just wonderful. Baby pork belly and paella were ok but not very nice and delicious. The best is stick to sea food since you are sea side here! Very good experience indeed.
Pretty funny place, 3.75 at most :) The food was just ok, unfortunately. I enjoyed their Galician octopus the most — tender, well seasoned, tasty bed of potatoes all in a very large portion. The seafood platter with half lobster was underwhelming. For €45, I felt like this is not a good value. Scampi and small red prawns were great — sweet, flavorful and well cooked. Lobster, however, was half raw and we had to send it to the kitchen. Razor clams were lacking flavors and some of the shells had unpleasant fishy taste. Overall a very mixed experience. The service is what I found most hilarious though, with our waiter being 60+ guy who kept forgetting to bring something again and again then hitting himself on the head and running back to do it again. All in all, go here if you have plenty of time for a slightly slower service and want fresh seafood and decent view/breeze of the marina but expect inconsistent results.
The octopus and potatoes in the dish were spoiled, which we noticed halfway through eating. We informed the waiter, and they replaced the dish with a new one. However, when we mentioned the issue again while paying the bill, the waiter responded with a very indifferent attitude, which was quite disappointing. Moreover, the prices at this restaurant are relatively high, but the quality of the food does not justify the cost. Given the poor service and the mismatch between price and quality, it’s hard to recommend this place.
The food was nice but they riped-off us. We ordered Paella with sea food with regular price 20 EUR for person, they said that we need to choose which sea foods we would like. We choosen shrimps but eventually got a Paella with several sea foods. Everything was really tasty but nobody said that we need to pay something extra. 120 EUR instead of 42 EUR for Paella for 2 person was to much. BE CAREFUL when you order food and ask waiter about price.
