Texas Grill Restaurant Bastrop Reviews
Moved here to Bastrop about 2years ago and had been meaning to stop in here for lunch. I can slap myself for not coming here sooner. I ordered the Chicken fried steak w/ mashed potatoes & gravy & green beans. (Cost about $12-ish) Everything was cooked perfect and tasted GREAT! The portion was so huge that I could only eat half. (I’m looking forward to my leftover dinner tonight) AND THE ROLL.... It was HUGE and heavy!! It reminded me of my grandmas homemade rolls!!! It could have been a lunch my itself. I am already planning my next visit. IN ADDITION: If you liked my review and thought it was helpful, please click the like button. Thank You!!!
We enjoyed our meal here today. My eggs were cooked just right and my husband liked his chicken fried steak. Becca our waitress was real nice.
We love their food. One of our favorite breakfast spots.
Slap yo momma and head out to Texas Grill!! When she stops retaliating, drag her along and enjoy the largest portions, cheapest breakfast, and vast lunch or buffet choices I have ever seen. I ordered the 2 egg breakfast that came with 2 GIANT sausage patties, HUGE order of extra crispy hash browns. I was not aware of the portion sizes so I also ordered tge biscuits and gravy!! The biscuits are made from scratch and are piping hot and the cream country gravy is perfect (especially if you crumble one of the sausage patties into the gravy)!! COULD NOT EAT IT ALL!! I was embarrassed and ashamed that I could not clear my plate lol. Highly recommend!!
Great place and good food family country atmosphere. My family really enjoys this restaurant
Our waitress was so good! She was on point. Food was awesome. Everything was good it's was a later breakfast. They were serving lunch already. But did bring everything we ordered!
I been going there since 1981, Octer 19th. Enjoying my food and friendy waiters every time I go.
Texas Grill was a great name for this place. They have these large dinner rolls that are dense and savory. Loved it.
Great little dinner in Bastrop. We ate here even morning before F1 race days in lieu of the “free” hotel breakfast to ensure we were full to prevent from over eating expensive food at COTA. Eggs were cooked correctly and streaks (beef and ham) tasted great. I highly recommend the waffles as they are severed with melted butter (easier to spread) and have a Texas in the middle! Jojo our sever was also fantastic!
The place is such a cool country town kind of place. Absolutely loved the staff, they were slam packed and they still had time to check on us. The food was pretty good, eggs cooked wonderfully which is why I hate to say anything negatively but if I was pushed to say anything the biscuits need improvement. These were like dinner rolls in my opinion. Loved everything else! The service like I said was phenomenal and the place was clean, busy and lively. Didn't feel crowded even in a crowd.
If you like good hometown cooking you'll love this place. Was visiting from out of town and chose this place because of a picture of bacon online...and it was just like the picture and so delicious! Not to mention good service. Oh, and the restroom was clean!!! Would definitely eat here again.
This is a greasy spoon and man I enjoy them. The pancakes were huge even the short stack I ordered was more than I could eat. But they were perfect. I came in say and immediate a nice lady came over got my drink and was back ready to take my order. Put my order in and not 5min later it was out. The egg was great and they give a good amount for a side of bacon!!!! It was just a nice place to sit eat and listen to the local chatter. It is warm in here I think that is for the older crowd and I was cool with it. They have some kind of lunch buffet I might have to check out at a later date!
I was in town for business this morning with a friend who works in Bastrop. He took me here for breakfast. Not too bad at all. Nice local place. I had the breakfast steak plate. Eggs were cooked to my liking. I requested "over medium". Done right. The hasbrowns we plentiful and cooked well. The bacon was good portion cut sized and well tasting. I enjoyed it. The downside was the steak. Good potion size for the price. It just lacked flavor and punch. Real bland. Had to doctor it up a bit. Our waitress was very friendly and on her game. Even though it was a full house, she continuted to check up on is frequently. Great job on customer service. Overall i say a good strong B+. I recommend that you try this place at least once. I know that I would come back if I'm ever in town again. Thank you Texas Grill. Had a nice breakfast to start off the morning.
Not an awful experience; but not a great experience. Server was less than friendly - just seemed to be her overall demeaner. Maybe a bad day, so I'll give her a pass. The food was not bad, it was an ok breakfast... maybe I expected more? Coffee was a tad burnt, not too bad. The biscuits and gravy didn't have much flavor (add a lot of butter), though they were soft and fresh. I'd give another shot, people have bad days.
I haven't been here in years and the food was still as bad as I remember. It was noon but I still wanted breakfast. So I gave it another ago. Food was cold, all of it. Sausage patties were hard like they had been frozen. Ordered eggs over easy, sausage patties, grits, biscuits and gravy, everything I love but didn't want to make at home today. The only thing good was the$13.00 ticket. Will not be back.
First thing when you walk in you’ll notice something like an old church basement bathroom musty smell. Then the cafeteria style food appears to have all come straight from a can - sliced red beets, pineapple rings, canned peaches… the breakfast food we ordered was all premade /frozen or freeze dried and rehydrated/re heated to order. I wasn’t expecting farm to table but this was can-to-table diner food and about as cheap as it gets.
Terrible food and service. Restrooms filthy and smelled horrible. To bad we can't give below one star
Ordered cheese omelette. Arrived at table undercook and raw eggs in center. Sent back. Second time the omelette and hash browns arrived and were cold. I didn’t want to complain again so I kept and ate less than half of it. Interior could use some updates as booth seats were worn and had a huge hole in it.
