Roman's Batavia Reviews
We had a Great lunch for my husband's Birthday. We had 4 different kinds of pizzas. Our waiter Sam was very attentive. We will definitely go again.
Was an absolutely amazing experience. The atmosphere was relaxed and fun. Food was great! And the bartenders were just amazing! They were very laid back, attentive, and just down right hilarious!!! Will definitely be back, many more times!
We met friends there for dinner. We all ordered different kinds of pizza. Every one was excellent. They have stone fired ovens and they were delicious. Did I say that twice? Lol, it's that good! They also have a variety of Italian dishes as well with a nice selection of beers on tap. Highly recomend!
Came in for a late lunch. They had salads, soup, sandwiches, and pasta on the lunch menu. Got the fried artichoke hearts for and appetizer and everyone got something different from the menu . All of the meals were excellent, the service was friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. Everything was very enjoyable.
Tried Roman's for the first time last night, after seeing their article in the Gusto. As an avid pizza lover I was very excited to try their wood fired pizza. I had The Roman. And The White. Both were fantastic. Cooked perfectly and tasted wonderful. I arrived right before closing and chatted with the employees and the owner. Coming from the hospitality industry for 18 years I can say these were the nicest people to talk with and I enjoyed that they let me chat with them before taking my pizza home. The only place I'll get my pizza from when I'm visiting my dad in Batavia! ♥️♥️♥️
Our first time here and absolutely delighted! The bruscetta was fabulous; who thought of the unique presentation? Salads fresh and lobster ravioli were great. Our waitress, Auburn, was exceptional and kept the meal at our preferred slow pace.
I took my fiancé out for her birthday and we each order steaks. They were amazing and delicious, not to mention the service was amazing! We highly recommend!
Delicious! Stuffed pepper appetizer was the best. Entrees were great and dessert lemon cake, nice and light! We will be back.
We were stopping for the evening after driving through Ohio. Nice local restaurant with outdoor patio, plenty of parking spaces, hand thrown pizza and wood fired fired pizza ovens. We decided to try something other than pizza after being in a car for hours. But the pizza did look amazing! Friendly, helpful and efficient wait staff. Fishes were cleared promptly and our server was very attentive. We ordered a bolognese pasta dish and a chicken Francaise dish plus caprese salad. Food was served hot and flavorful. Would return when in the area again!
Sammm Lang was a terrible waiter. Would visit again.
I just have to say that on March 19th 2022, we had a reservation for 16 people. Our experience was absolutely amazing. We had the pleasure of being waited by the co-owner Seth who stated he was not a server, but taking care of us. He was spot on, starting with our drinks. Everything was amazing from app to meals. We ordered several different dinners and not one person had a problem with taste or temperature. Several guests were from out of town and even the next day were still raving about their experience. The cook knocked it out of the park with timing everything to come out at the same time, nice and hot. I will be telling all my friends and family that this is now my new place to go. I just can't say enough what a great experience we had.
This is the second time we've come here. The first time was last month for my son's birthday. He had lobster ravioli. The second time was my daughter in law's birthday and she wanted lobster ravioli and they were out. That was the only negative thing. Otherwise , the food and service was great.
Roman's restaurant was the perfect place for a snowy evening meal. We sat in the back room by the fireplace where it was a little cool but with a wonderful ambiance. The food arrived very hot and was delicious and plentiful. We had a great time in part thanks to our upbeat server. It was a good thing we started early as we were very hungry and it got quite busy before we left.
Decent place not the best I have been to. The capresse was pretty good. Great value! Good food
One of the best meals my wife and I have had in a while. Went here for our anniversary today. Everything was fantastic. Had steamers, lobster ravioli, and stuffed shells, all terrific, especially the ravioli. And the prices were really reasonable as well. Great service too. Cannot wait to go back and try more!
It's not just pasta its subs and pizza wings 😋 so yummy and the staff is so nice ! We will definitely be going again !
We had our rehearsal dinner here. We had the best time in their downstairs space. The bar, food, and shuffleboard area were all perfect! They were very easy to work with and schedule!
Best restaurant around Rochester and Buffalo area. You won’t be disappointed!
I have been dining at romans for years. It has a wide variety of choices that are ALL delicious. Many of the menu items are made from scratch, and the staff is a mixture of beautiful men and women who are always smiling and very helpful. They even have an amazing setup for any and all kinds of catered parties in the basement with an amazing full-size bar and bathroom. I can only imagine that the owner is one hell of a guy!!!
I had the spaghetti and meatballs, the sauce was excellent, and the portion was ample. I would definitely recommend this place for a great meal.My wife had the eggplant parmesan. She was very pleased. We have the fish fry a few times, and they are also great.
Very good! Fresh Italian entrees and appetizers, we had the pear salad, artichoke fritters the godfather pizza and traditional margarita pizza. All excellent, the home made crust was crispy and airy at the same time. We will be returning!
Romans never disappoints. Everything is so amazing. Ryan is the absolute best server! He was so so kind and always checked up on us and it’s rare seeing that at some places! It’s absolutely so beautiful and such a great environment! I recommend it to everyone!
Roman's restaurant had a great atmosphere and friendly staff. The reception host was sweet and very welcoming. Our meal's were served promptly and was hot and delicious. I would absolutely recommend Roman's Spaghetti and meatballs. The Spaghetti was prepared to perfection and the meatballs were deliciously huge. My favorite dish at Roman's now. My hats off to the Chef at Roman's!
We love going to Roman’s whenever we are passing through Batavia. The pizza is always amazing and the staff are great. Pizza of the month is a great way to try new things. The patio area is a neat compromise between outdoors in the summer and sitting by the fire in the winter. Highly recommend!
Their brick oven pizza is amazing! We've tried so many it's often difficult to choose. Great variety if appetizers and menu choices, depending on what you're in the mood for. Very nice sitting out on enclosed patio- gives it a cool bistro feel
Great food! LOVE the French Onion soup, its a must have! It has a nice onion flavor that isn't overpowered by the beef flavor of the broth, topped with perfectly melted cheese. The home made meatballs are another favorite, along with the cheese tortellini and garlic bread. Perfect sized lunch portions. Family friendly atmosphere. Full bar, great beverage selection. Love the outside seating in the summer. Private room downstairs with a private bar avaliable to rent for parties as well that is spacious and accommodating.
Great food. Great service. Eggplant Parmesan was amazing. Hubby had the gnocchi, but with red sauce and sausage added. It was delicious too! We would definitely return when we are back in the Batavia area for yummy Italian!
Service was quick, food was delicious. Had three pizzas. White, Buffalo and traditional. All were awesome. We were in Batavia for an event and picked here, good choice.
I was there as part of a professional development program with Gilead. We were seated on the lower level. Our server was beyond amazing. She was attentive and made recommendations for items on the menu. I got the Ribeye but my colleague took my be mistake. I got his NY strip with shrimp. I got the better deal. The steak was beyond mouth watering. It was cooked perfectly and was tender and seasoned just right. I order the Chicken Parmesan to go and will be eating that tomorrow for dinner. We came from Buffalo and Rochester and the ~1 hour drive was definitely worth. I will recommend our next meeting be held her so long as we get the same quality service and food. Thank you!!!
Took my mom there today for her 81st birthday .... I live in Buffalo, she lives in Rochester we wanted to meet half way so I googled italian restaurants in Batavia and we hit the jackpot finding this place.... the food was really good and the cauliflower crust on my pizza 🍕 was like no other I have ever had!!! So similar to regular crust😋 Our server was excellent....friendly, attentive and extremely efficient!!! The restaurant was clean .... an overall great birthday lunch experience 🎈
Our experience was amazing. The outside dining environment was perfect and was only slightly matched by our server Denise who was amazing! Her suggestions on food were spot on and really made the experience 5 star!! Do yourself a favor and visit this incredible restaurant
Always consistent with their fantastic food. We celebrated our parent's 50th anniversary here and the staff was incredibly kind and gracious with making the event special including allowing us to bring our own cake in from another bakery. We go here frequently, are never disappointed and always impressed!
We're from NYC area, we eat a lot of Italian, and the food at this place really impressed. Pizzas in the wood oven were terrific (we got three), my linguine with clam sauce was full of clams and a great garlicy sauce. Prices were fair, service was lovely.
We stopped for lunch on a Saturday. We had driven by many times but never stopped. What a hidden jem! The bruschetta was very good. The antipasto salad was excellent. All of the ingredients were fresh. Prices were awesome. We will definitely be back. Can't wait to try more menu items!
My wife and I dined for lunch and enjoyed our meals. We have also brought our kids on a previous visit. The food is excellent with a great atmosphere. There is also a full bar at the restaurant if you're looking for a place to have a drink. The prices are very reasonable for the excellent quality of the food. The owner also owns The Coffee Press and Bourbon & Burger in the city, which I also highly recommend.
Romans is now my favorite restaurant. I have had the steaks a number of times and it has always been excellent. The best steak I've had in a long time. I was there with a friend recently and she had the lobster ravioli. It was wonderful. I love the pickle pizza. I think I average 2-3 a month. The couple times I have been for lunch, the food has been great. I did have to send a drink back once, it was made wrong. I think it was a new bartender. The service has always been adequate to great although a little rough around the edges when it's been a rookie waiter/waitress. I say kudos to the owners and employees for opening this restaurant at the beginning of this pandemic and making it the success that it is.
The Buffalo Thunderbird Club had our monthly dinner and meeting there on June 8. The staff was very attentive and efficient. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We look forward to returning for future meetings. Thank you for the positive experience we had.
I got the pizza (wood stove style) special and it was really good. The crust was perfect a mix of a little crunch and still foldable. They had lobster bisque as well and while the soup was great there was very little lobster in it. Overall would definitely go back and recommend if you’re in the area.
Ok, so no pics were taken on Friday night… but just wait a few days cuz I’m going back! The grilled chicken broccoli Alfredo was delicious! Next weekend, you’ll be able to find me spooning every last drop of sauce from the bowl. Update: and it’s even better the second time around. The proof is in the pic.
I liked everything about this place. The food was awesome and the atmosphere was super cool. On our way from Niagara we found this cool place and had a pit stop for lunch. Kids enjoyed the lunch. We had sphegatti, Alfredo, Lobster soup and Pizza which was customized to our liking as we don't like Beef. Thanks a ton to the person who serviced us. He really was too cool from the time he met us until our billing. He even gave us a chocolate tower cake billed on house. The cake was full of chocolate and delicious. If I have anyone visiting to NY on this way I would surely recommend this place for anyone who wish to have a nice Italian Food
This could have been some of the best Italian food I’ve ever had. The homemade meatballs, Caesar salad, Caprese salad, and pasta bolognese were all outstanding! The restaurant was full so we just ate in the deli area. Great ambiance throughout the restaurant. Super friendly employees. I can’t say enough great things about this place!
Absolutely amazing food. On a Friday night packed to the brim. We got appetizers, drinks, entrees and dessert. Hands down from each course I couldn’t have enjoyed the food more! All for a more than reasonable price for every course! If you’re in Batavia I recommend checking out Romans!
The pizzas are amazing and try the deli. The Utica Greens are the best around and they're the first I've seen do them in Batavia
The wings are so good. We were so happy they brought them back and their red spaghetti sauce is unlike any other. Tried their new deli for the first time and it hit the spot
Their lunch selection is fantastic! Trying their new deli was a pleasant surprise. Don't miss dinner here either.
The pizza flavor was good but the bottom and the plate itself was covered in carbon and burnt residue. I understand the concept of a homemade, and or wood-fired oven, but this is not a conspiracy or a suspicion; it is a confirmed fact that these black parts of food contain acrylamide, a confirmed carcinogen. Furthermore, the charring left a tar-like aftertaste. Fix that, i want to con back with my family
Have been there a few times over the years and its always been good. Recently this has been my go to place to take my husband for lunch ... the food is always good and we love sitting outside. The past 2 times we had Denise as our server. She is the best. My husband has dementia and she is so sweet and patient with him. She is exactly what service should be, she is efficient, goes the extra mile and makes dining out a great experience again. We will def be back!!
Catered for our luncheon at Batavia Family Dental and everything was amazing! Food was so good and service was top notch! Will definitely be using them again for our team trainings and meetings!! Thank you Romans!!
Been coming here multiple times a month for over two years. If you’d like to set up the bar, the bar can get pretty busy around 6 o’clock every day. I have probably ordered their bolognese 20+ times. Their caprese is incredible. A lot of people enjoy their gnocchi. They have a wide variety of beer and wines with a full bar. The service is always great. There’s outdoor seating and indoor seating, it’s best to call ahead if you have a large party. This is my favorite restaurant in Batavia. The atmosphere is great, the staff are wonderful, and the food is always consistent!
We were looking for a place to get a good pizza on our way back to Rochester from Six Flags and this caught our eye. The exterior off the parking lot is modest but the interior is modern, clean and spacious. We chose outdoor seating which was the same plus the charm of the wood-fired pizza oven. The menu is extensive with a good selection for children at very reasonable prices; the children’s pizza was the same size as a regular and came with a drink for $8! The pizzas were excellent. The pasta and chicken entrees were wonderful. Amazingly, some of the pasta dishes are offered as half-entrees at a substantial discount but still come with a fresh side salad. Everyone on the staff with whom we interacted was friendly and super helpful. We’re so impressed that we’re planning to make the drive back frequently to enjoy this restaurant gem. If you’re lucky enough to live there or just passing through, we highly recommend Roman!!
This place was fantastic! I can't believe we never had eaten here before. Our server, Denise, was so very friendly and super-helpful with her suggestions. The white clam linguine was the best in town (sorry, Vic). The outdoor dining atmosphere was great too. No doubt, Roman's is going to become a regular stop for us!
I drove from UB north to Batavia specifically to get a Venice Pizza . I’ve been craving it for awhile. It was a dreary rainy day today but not freezing (!) so I went between lunch and dinner and got my favorite table across from the pizza oven ( for warmth and aromas!) It was a really nice relaxing hour or so enjoying a glass of wine and 2 slices. I’ll savor the rest tonight and tomorrow. My waitress Sharrielle (?) was outstanding. And pizza man Justin 👍 **. I haven’t been since fall and I was very surprised ( and confused) when I walked in the door. There is now an Italian deli in the entry area before the dining rooms. You have to check this out. Very nice selection of goodies along with the deli meats and olives etc …….. Had to get a pic of the crew. The nicest “guys” who seem to have a real sense of pride in the restaurant . Thanks! PS They were doing a good business for an off hour.
Ok! I found it! I have been looking for my favorite fig pizza since December. My favorite so far had been Roma’s in Kennebunkport Maine believe it or not. But I finally made it to Romans in Batavia yesterday!! I had a feeling this would be at the top and I was right. 100% worth a 2 hour RT from Buffalo. It’s hard to compare pizza because all pizza is good and they are all different. Most of my adult life I have loved -NY pizza best. ( Koronets upper west side near Columbia!) After living in Rochester NY for awhile I learned to appreciate other real Italy style pizza. But I’m on a fig kick so —— I went in at an odd time and ordered the pizza at the bar. I wasn’t even aware that in an adjoining room there were people eating late lunch. And that’s where my pizza was made, I should have asked his name because it was phenomenal. Especially if you love a lot of taste without the heaviness. Much smaller then Romas in Maine and my other figs in BUFFALOVE , also much thinner crust but not cracker/y! Just the right texture so if you wanted, you could even fold it . Good sign. I love my goat cheese and thankfully they didn’t overdo the mozzarella. Perfect. And not fig jam but real pieces of tender juicy figs. Of course very good balsamic glaze. The prosciutto was perfect for me; very thin and some even had a bit of bacony crunch. Yummy!! Oh forgot; no minced garlic but a garlic oil. Good touch. I had one fresh warm slice, 3 not heated up ( the arugula). I’m not sure about the next 3. Tonight!! Looking forward to it. I was thinking about the raspberry cheesecake bites but the pizza was ready before I ordered it so I saved the calories. I am looking forward to coming back many more times. I’ll force myself to try other things! Actually meeting family there next weekend from Rochester. I promised them they would love it. PS They opened with the Pandemic so let’s make sure this great spot remains successful. They deserve it. Great choices regarding what atmosphere you’d like to eat in too! NYC style. Roma’s, Roman’s !!
What a beautiful restaurant. The flooring, the walls, the bar, and on to the dining tables . . everything was clean, well lit, and quite inviting. Our server, Casey, was an absolute charm; right there and ready to bring drinks, take orders, answer questions. A perfect gentleman making our stay quite comforting. The food was absolutely delicious! We enjoyed a buffalo chicken pizza as an appetizer and it was simply perfectly cooked, edges blackened from flames but the bottom was just perfect. The antipasto serving size was large and delicious, the side filet mignon was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The chicken marsala dish was usually one where only half would be eaten, but it was so delicious the entire plate was devoured. The sausage cacciatori was declared the best ever, serving size was enough to take some home. Needless to say, the filet mignon dinner with standard sides was devoured, as well. Greatly recommend the restaurant for a great night with friends, family, or a date. Enjoy~
The appetizers are amazing, and they don't skimp with your drinks. Our main meals left little to be desired. The chicken Marsala came to the table cold, the chicken parmesan was short on sauce and flavor was bland. My husbands mashed potatoes weren't real. The service makes up for the small inconveniences and we will go again.
Busy Friday night but both drinks and food were good. First time here for dinner. Carbonara was prepared different but was still very good. Nice menu, full bar. Would go back.
Went for the first time this past Saturday. Our waiter(who said he was actually an owner) was pleasant and we had our drinks and food in no time. The food was so good! We had Utica greens as an app and the portion was huge, could've been a meal for me. Our dinner portions were also very very generous, brought out in huge bowls. I had leftovers for 2 lunches! We found a new favorite spot!
You HAVE to try The Venice pizza... Absolutely amazing. The flavors all work so very well together. The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere. The waitress we had? Uhm...she should definitely re-think her career choice given that she IS serving the public which means ALL people of different races and ethnicities. Other than her, it was an amazing dinner and we will return!
We ordered the clams appetizer, the chicken mushroom risotto, and the chicken Parmesan. The clams were still sandy and gritty and pretty much inedible. A bit too salty as well. I don’t recommend ordering those. The risotto and chicken parm were tasty. Our server was lovely.
My wife and I were out with her Brother and Fiancee . We had a good time. Dinner was good everyone enjoyed their meals. Good service
Update 7/25 Stop playing at the bar to grab a drink and a to-go order and had a great experience at the bar. The service was awesome and the overall atmosphere was relaxed. My bartender Sam was the perfect mix of attentiveness and engaging and non-intrusive all great qualities for a A+ bartender!
Was very pleasantly surprised. Waitress was very nice, very knowledgeable in bourbon, huge points on that. The food was really well cooked and seasoned. I had the risotto, was a bit salty but delicious. The artichoke fritters were delicious. The Italian wedding soup was ridiculously tasty. All in all, I would recommend this to everyone.
We really liked the decor and ambiance of this establishment, the staff was very pleasant and accommodating. We started off with clams casino which were incredibly small, very little seasoning and over priced for the portion size. I have to say though that the pizzas they serve here would definitely rank in my top 3 pizzas we have ever had. The crust was amazing with the perfect crisp on the bottom and yet there was still a soft chew to it and the toppings were balanced and fresh. Will definitely go back to try some other menu items.
We had stuffed Peppers, Pizza and a Sub they nailed the peppers and Pizza. The sub was a tad dry. Will return!
We enjoyed our meals here, but the service was very slow. I had to look for someone to take our order and then again to get our check. They seemed understaffed. I went with people that had been here before and they said the service was never this bad. I doubt I would return here with so many other options nearby.
Food was very good I ordered a gluten-free pizza and they forgot one of my ingredients. Service wasn't bad we had to wait a little bit to get their attention but they were kind of busy we actually went on a Friday night and they were swamped. Nice itmosphere
My husband said his fish fry was good, but was much smaller than you'd get other places. Only a handful of steak fries and a condiment size container of slaw came with it. My pizza was ok, but nothing I'd have again. Our server was nice and the place was clean. Sorry I couldn't rate this higher
The food was delicious. The service however... have to say it was the worst we've ever had. I understand places are short staffed right now but our waitress had 2 tables that included us and we saw her when she finally came to take order (10 minutes after we sat down), brought our soup, salad and appetizers at the same time and brought our main course 5 minutes later then we didn't see her again until she brought our bill. Then it was another 15 minutes before she came back. All the time we were there, she was talking to another employee. I highly recommend the food though
My husband and I were on a date night . The waitress apologized for taking longer to get to us as she had a large table next to us. We told her we didn't mind and that we were in no rush. Well after that she brought our dinner out very close to our appetizer and brought us the check before we were done with dinner without ever asking if we wanted dessert. The food is good there. They have an excellent salad and their salmon is always well cooked, but a bad staff experience says it all.
My $11 martini glass was filthy, looks like they wiped it to clean it, the pizza was ok, had to search for the meat on it as it wasnt pepperoni, it was pork, the chairs on these bar tables are a little low for women, i mean i had to reach up for food! We havent been there since they first opened, its ok for pizza but it was 60 for one pizza, an app (cheese stuufed banana peppers, not too impressive) one drink for hubby and one for me. Times are tough, gotta bring your A game. I should have sent the drink back, if i did that i would have had to leave because service would have definitely been downhill after that.
When specifically for pickle pizza. If you like dill pickles you'll like the pickle pizza the traditional Pizza is very good. I'm not sure if there's anyone that compares to it
Dined here yesterday with my wife, the food was good, the service was not. When we first were seated it took a while for a server to come to the table, then it took a while for the server to bring us our salads, then she dropped off the food and disappeared, didn't come back and ask us how it was, did we need anything, crickets until we were almost done with our dinner. We will not return as there are plenty of places in Batavia were we are appreciated but not here!
Chicken Parm 4 out of 10. No love put into it. Not flattened like true parm. Since too sweet.Tastes like a frozen breast deep-fried. Minimal sauce on chicken or pasta. Small portions. Service was great though. I expected so much more with the real Italian dish.
Was not happy with our experience tonight in the slightest. Not only did it take an hour and a half for 2 pizzas and a salad, but by the time our order came, it was completely wrong. Our server was very sweet and made the best of things. But tables around us were also very unhappy, and some customers even left. To wait that long for our order to not even be correct was not acceptable.
Didn't eat here. The place was practically empty. The hostess seemed confused and unable to seat the couple ahead of us while there were many empty tables inside and out. It was weird so we left. Prices listed on their specials board were very high as well.
My boyfriend and I went to Roman's for Valentines Day. The server was nice. However, it appeared as though he/she needed a little further training. Our meals seemed fair in price. But; I literally had two fork-fulls of pasta w-my eggplant. Which was frustrating. I didn't expect a huge side of pasta. But, a little more definitely seemed more appropriate. My boyfriend ordered a pasta dish with pork. The pork did not taste fresh. And, It was not hot. Overall, Roman's was truly disappointing. Especially considering how many people told us that they really loved it!!
The customer service was great unfortunately my pizza is missing some core ingredients. Where's the arugula and balsamic glaze? I had the Venice once and it was amazing. Apparently, they're only good once. Never getting a good tip from me again.
Nobody really liked their food. The veal parm wasn't cooked all the way. The sauce was way too sweet. The gluten free pizza was the only thing kind of decent. Ryan was a good server. The hostess had an attitude.
absolutely awful service, blonde waitress was very rude after i told her my food was rotten. very accusing behavior from the staff, everyone needs an attitude check. all i asked was for it to be taken away- no other dish needed, it was just gross. DO BETTER. - this place used to have wonderful food and lovely staff so who knows, maybe i caught them on the wrong day but todays experience will completely deter me from coming back.
Went in for a group meeting/dinner and was very unhappy with the food. Had to send my steak back as it was disgusting, another persons dinner wasn’t cooked right, 4 people out of 7 dinners were not happy, skimping on the portions got maybe 6 French fries, but jacking up the prices. Will never go back again.
Took my wife out for a nice dinner alone. Had to wait over an hour for the food to come as we watched tables come after us get their food and when it finally did, the 8oz fillet I ordered was room temperature at best. I never order steak because it's pricey but thought why not it's just me and the wife. Thanks Romans for reassuring me that $28 for a steak is definitely not worth it.
Food was ok.. when we placed our order my husband ordered a salad with French dressing and extra dressing on the side. When our food arrived there was only 1 small cup of dressing, so he asked for the additional dressing he asked for. To which the waitress replied "how about you start eating and I'll see how you are doing with your salad in a bit" and walked away. So in essence she told my husband how he is going to eat the food he specifically asked to be a particular way (whether a lot of dressing is her way or not) and assumed we would be charged accordingly. So we didn't want anything free.. after 9 minutes she returned (we were through more than half of our meals. His salad was dry to his taste. My sandwich was soggy. But we ate and awaited her return. By which we asked to speak with the manager. The manager came over (who is also a waitress) we asked if it's customary for the waitress to tell a customer how he will eat his meal and how much dressing and such he can have for his salad. She responded that no, they don't and she is sorry. One would think the waitress would then come and apologize for her service... but she didn't. Simply took our money..
Waited one hour for two pizzas. 20 minutes for the waitress to run our card. The waitress thought it was best to talk to other customers and bus their tables while our card was with her. Also not once did a manager come out and explain the situation or compensate for wasting our time.
Absolutely awful! The waitress was rude, never stopping at the table, just talking as she raced by. Her hair was very long and not pulled back, very unsanitary!!! The beef on weck pizza was dripping grease, so nasty. The chicken on the grilled chicken sandwich was so over cooked you could barely choke it down!! Not serving appetizers for lunch either. Don't waste your time or money!! Not worth it. Very disappointed.!!!
The absolute worst ive ever experienced I tried to make conversation with the 4 employees that were sitting around doing nothing and got the cold shoulder… I was the only person in the whole place and they couldn’t be bothered.. too bad cause maybe if if I was having a nice time I would have invited my friends .. Provo would have been the only table they got for the whole day .. super rude
We went for lunch Saturday. We were told our server was busy but it took awhile for him to take our order. It took even longer to get our meal. Our grilled chicken sandwiches left little to be desired. Pricey for what we got.
It's been a while since I've been this disappointed in a restaurant. There's too many issues to list. It was a Saturday at prime dinner hour and they weren't that busy. They were out of things on the menu and screwed up the rest. The pizza came out way too early, the rest looked like it was microwaved a few times during the week before we received it. About a half a cup of oil in the Alfredo and I could have broken a window with the one $4 meatball. Everything was over seasoned and wrinkled. My wife got the rib eye and it was probably the worst she's ever had. We heard the owner has two other different restaurants. My recommendation would be concentrate on just one.
Strip steak was an absolute joke. Paper thin and full of grizzle for $26!!!!!
We had dinner at Roman's last night, my experience was worse than disappointing, I ordered what they called the Italian beef sub whitch turned out to be large chunks of fat and and cubes of tough chuck roast on a roll accompanied by an auju that turned oit to be greasy pan drippings, no seasoning, no onion or peppers just cubed chuck on a roll, no French fries no salad the other meals, stuffed shells, two stuffed shells on a plate, not huge stuffed shells, pizza, the crust bubbled up all round and burned black. the picture here is of my sandwich I did not want to embarrass my friends or make a seen but had to bring it to the attention of our server who was very nice
Husband's company Christmas dinner last night at Romans in Batavia and it was the worst meal experience I've had. So incredibly disappointed. Rude servers. Freezing cold. Gross mixed drinks. Just awful!! I feel so bad for husband's boss who had to pay for that. Most of our table got the wrong plate or it was cooked wrong. Baked potatoe - cold. Steak - grey. Veggies - hard and way under cooked. Then they didn't have more steak to replace it! Then they were washing the door windows and rolling garbage cans out before a couple of us even got our food. Servers and manager were far from friendly. So after a freaking Christmas dinner, ended up eating cheese and crackers at midnight at home.
The meal was beyond unacceptable. We took one bite and lost our appetites. When the server finally came to check in, we let her know that it wasn't to our liking. We were asked for specific reasons which we obliged her with. She took the completely uneaten meals and left us seated there for a while. We were then approached by the server and another female (didn't identify herself) who inquired the same about the meal and the detail of why. She the proceeded to tell us that that was how the meals were prepared and that they always taste like that. They offered us something else to be ordered in place of the meal and we said no thank you. So then they said, ok, the bill then and left. They printed the bill and dropped it off at our table. When we inquired how it was that they could justify charging for meals that were untouched / consumed, we were informed, "well, that's why the other lady came and offered you something else" Not once was that made as the alternative. And most importantly, why would we risk ordering food from an establishment that stated that, the food we found inedible always tastes like that? We understand that there are costs associated with the meal that was ill prepared but quite repulsed by their policy as an establishment. Would we ever return? That would be a definite no.
I visited Romans tonight with a friend for the first time. We ordered spicy chicken wings and a chicken spaghetti dish. From the first bite, the wings were overwhelmingly salty and sharp with vinegar; they were difficult to eat. When the waitress asked why I didn’t like the wings, I told her it felt like I was eating straight vinegar and it was burning my mouth. She responded that they didn’t add vinegar, but that the sauce itself contains vinegar; it didn’t make the dish any easier to eat. My friend tried her dish and also found it unpleasant. We told the waitress; she offered to bring something else, but after both dishes were so poorly prepared, we didn’t feel comfortable ordering more. We also had a long drive ahead and didn’t have time to wait for another option. Despite clearly explaining that the food wasn’t edible for us, we were still charged for both plates. Nothing was packed to go, though we didn’t want it anyway. I was surprised by the way the situation was handled. I rarely write reviews, but this experience was very disappointing; both the food and the response to our concern fell far below expectations.
