O'Lacy's Batavia Reviews
First Tuesday of the month and Irish musicians set up to play, genuine Irish music. It was an amazing environment. So friendly and welcoming to all.
Food was great! Love the place! Lots.of signs and fliers and things to look at while visiting. Drinksmgood even put a shamrock in your Guinness. Miss the cheese and crackers platter that was the best!
After a few small bumps, the food has improved drastically again as of Jan 2026. Love it there.
Awesome fish and chips, along with clean copper top bar, gimmicks and best Irish food around come check 'em out
The food and atmosphere were great. Our waitress Tiba was absolutely amazing and her recommendation’s for dinner were well received. I cannot recommend this place enough. The Belfast Sandwich and the poutine along with the Irish Nachos were incredible. They are a must have on your next visit. We cannot wait to come back soon enough.Great job Tiba your personality is infectious.
Gem of an Irish Pub. Excellent friendly service. Great bartender and staff. Excellent food and perfect Guinness.
Slainte... This place is the closest pub we have found to actually being in Ireland. We had no idea this gem is in our backyard, just 10 minutes from home. The traditional meals are out of this world and the staff is absolutely fantastic. Stepping in the door, literally took my wife and I back to Ireland for the time we were having dinner together. The decor, the ambiance is quite authentic. Great beer selection 👌🏻 and food is fantastic! If you haven't treated yourself to O'Lacy's, you NEED to.....
Visiting an Irish pub was on my friend's bucket list. Since traveling is now out of the question due to health reasons, we drove over an hour. We were not disappointed! Well worth the drive. The staff was excellent the food was delicious.
Absolutely the most legitimate Irish pub I've ever been to outside Ireland. Locals were friendly and inviting, and the barmaid was excellent and attentive and pleasantly chatty. Already planning on going back as soon as I can, it's an hour fifteen drive away. And the Trinity Sandwich was absolutely banging.
Great little place off the beaten path of main street. Easy open parking and seating while limited will be worth the effort to get in. The seating is limited but also have a out door area weather permitting. The atmosphere was very nice. TONS of classic fun stuff to look at to make converstation about. The seating and bar is a classic relaxing feel to it.. I would say max 4 to The food was equally amazing. The Ruben was very good. I give it an 8 out of 10, as I am super picky about the best ruben around. The meat was or is shreded, so you won't get get a huge chunk of meat all at once. The taste was spot on, and so was the toasty-ness of the bread. Presentation was good. Someone took the time to actually look at what they are serving and ensured it looked as good as it could be.. I would say 4 person group max would be ideal for this place. Service was good. Friendly. No issues with payment or the bill. If you love the TV Cheers feel type place well worth the visit..
Update: Grabbed lunch from here yesterday for the first time since the new owners reopened. It looks like most of the old menu items stayed intact but they added a few new items as well including Irish Nachos which I gave a try yesterday. The nachos absolutely did not disappoint. Very flavorful, I loved the tang the goat cheese added, and the portion size was decent. Glad to have this gem back open in the community. Hands down the best Reuben I've ever had. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and good food keep me coming back.
Now it’s only right after a long morning with Queen Marsha in Niagara to search for a Pub for a late lunch… she says it doesn’t have to be Irish because her presumption is I will order Shepherds Pie. But the only good one on the way to Vermont is O’Lacy’s .. Kent Breslin is the great General Manager…Jeffrey has been running the bar for 25 years and all be darned if my old long lost relative Tom wasn’t at the end of the bar … I ordered God’s beer ( of course ) Guinness , and yes I’m part Irish …
Great Reuben and great beer (poured with a shamrock I might add)! Tucked away in downtown Batavia, the moment you step through the door of O'Lacy's you feel like you may have just accidentally left town. From the traditional Irish music, the warm embrace of the bar top, the intermingled decor with its obvious yet quaint Irish roots. Would recommend 10 out of 10 times! Sláinte!
For many years, I have been eyeing this place up. Usually when I'm in Batavia though, I'm there on a Sunday, and O'Lacy's is not open. I came here with my parents and was so thrilled. Immediately when I entered, I felt a sense of home. This pub transported me back to Ireland. I miss Ireland so much. The entire vibes of the place were positive and homey and exuded friendship. I ordered the Uncle Louie with the famous chips and it didn't disappoint. I really liked the sauce that came on the side for dipping with the chips and sandwich. It had a good flavor. My mouth is watering thinking about this sandwich and chips. The service was great as well. It was only the bartender and waitress and every table was taken, as well as tables in the patio, so they were both hustling, but still attentive.
Our first visit since the new ownership. The Pub is still the great looking Irish styled pub it was. Dining tables are a little close knit, basically in the same room as the bar. There is outside dining in a wooden fenced area. The bathrooms fit the style of the bar and are clean. Usually, seating of your choice. Quickly greeted by a waitress; Doreece was a charm. We enjoyed a greatly prepared Black & Tan (Guinesse and Harp), pub chips and the new Reuben Rolls. A picture of an open roll to give you a better idea of what's inside. Crunchy, good corn beef flavor. Our meals were a Reuben, Irish Stew, Uncle Louie, a Daily Harold. They were all fresh and delicious. Not the place for a fancy date night, but great for friends and casual dates, even family. Easy access in and out, parking is ample.
