Coppi Belfast Reviews
Excellent food, beautifully presented, brilliant attentive service and very welcoming and professional with it. I definitely want to come back soon. All in all a lovely and relaxed evening. Thank you all.
Outstanding dinner and outstanding modern Italian food. Highly recommend the prawn bucatini - I have never had prawn pasta be as flavorful as it was here. Truly a fantastic blend of Italian cooking and modern cooking techniques. Highly recommend the pork belly as starter too. Crispy pork with all the right accompaniments - the flavor truly blends in harmony and makes for a wonderful experience.
Lovely meal in fabulous surroundings. Nice cocktails and menu had several choices. The Beetroot risotto was fabulous - see photo. Restaurant was really busy as it was Valentine's night.
Coppi was amazing. I was there for my graduation celebration the week leading up to Christmas and it was so good. Our visit really topped off a really happy day marking the end of my studies in Belfast. We had the choice of ordering from the Christmas menu or the regular menu - we went for the regular. The only snag when I tried to make a reservation was the website not allowing reservation for more than a group of 6, so I had to call. Food was yum - try the nachos and thank me later. Service was attentive. Really can't fault it. Overall, a really positive experience!
We went to Coppi for a birthday meal and it was absolutely fabulous. We started with the pasta nachos, which were delicious, and then I had the seafood pasta while my partner had the duck ragu – both were incredible. The restaurant had a great atmosphere, with plenty of space between tables and the buzz of the open kitchen adding to the vibe. We would definitely return!
Amazing! The place was really busy being a Saturday evening and we had to wait for the table, even though we had a reservation, but it was worth the wait!! Superb food! Great service and we will definitely come again.
One of the best Italian meals I have ever had. The pasta nachos were incredible and both the Marsala chicken and the spicy sausage risotto were amazing. I probably could have ordered everything on the menu it all looked fantastic Service was super quick even though the restaurant was full Wine was lovely too. Even though I live in England I am already planning my next trip here!
Another first for us. Coppi in St.Annes square. The food was really good, wood pigeon for starter and duck and wild mushroom pasta for the main course. I'm actually not a massive mushroom fan but this was great! My wife's chicken main course was lovely, the chicken was beautifully cooked. It was Saturday night and the place was really busy but this did not affect service which was really good. I didn't order a side at the start but I decided I needed some chips, I ordered these and they were with me in a few minutes. Great! I definitely recommend Coppi and I will totally go back in the future.
Excellent food and desserts to die for. An atmospheric restaurant with a menu to match. Loved the food and the in-house beers. A welcome retreat from a wet Thursday.
Great restaurant. We were fortunate to get great weather so asked to sit outside and without hesitation the staff said no problem. Anna services the entire meal and was really friendly and very knowledgable on the menu. Couldn’t fault her service. Food was lovely, such light authentic Italian food, will defiantly be back. 5*
First time vising and cannot wait to return! all our dishes were wonderful and flavourful, the staff were friendly and attentive and the cocktails were delicious. a wonderful way to spend our anniversary ❤️
Great ambiance, delishhhhhhh food and reasonably priced. Went here for dinner and the place was buzzing. We ordered tapas style 6 dishes - feta croquet woth truffle honey, gnocchi with garlic, duck dumplings, olives, roast carrots with hazelnut (yumm), fries. Our hostess Justyna was super attentive and recommended fried gnocchi with garlic and it was so tasty! Would definitely return.
Very nice restaurant. Good size portions and a £10!lunch menu. Kids loved it.
went back again and again……. latest had the nachos and salad for starter…exceptional nachos….they should ‘bag it’ ..id buy them…followed by a cheesecake! Favourite Italian in Belfast by a country mile….a must for those who love the best….had the bread and tapanede to start with...we then had the Duck Ragu and the Risotto...finished with the cookie and ice cream....deliciousella
Good find for our stay in Belfast. Nice food not too busy. Staff pleasant and attentive.
We visited on a Sunday afternoon during Easter break and the place was buzzing (lucky we got a table without a reservation). Service was friendly and quick. We ordered lasagna and pasta (both vegetarian) and both of them were delicious and had good serving portion. We also ordered Tiramisu along with coffee liquer and we enjoyed it.
Great food! Ordered starters, rigatoni Alla matriciana and arugula salad. Food was fantastic! Service was also outstanding!
Good service overall, although they almost cancelled my reservation even though I have confirmed it the day before. They also told me that they have tried contacting me during the whole week and left me voicemails but I did not receive any calls or voicemails. Food was good and arrived very quickly, nice deserts too. Overall atmosphere is very nice, buzzing with energy and good vibes. I will definitely be coming back there.
Visited on a Saturday afternoon and the place was packed, but the staff were coping superbly and we got fantastic service. The menu confused me a little so I asked the waitress for advice and she was incredibly friendly and helpful. Foot was fantastic. Highlight was probably the feta cheese with truffle honey. We split eight small dishes and a pizzette and had a beer each and it was less than 50 quid. Great value for food of that quality. Will definitely go back.
Ordered fish of the day, spiced hummus toastada and vegan chocolate brownie. Absolutely loved it. Perfect portions, each dish was cooked and presented perfectly. Highly recommend and rate the restaurant. Staff are friendly and service is prompt despite the busyness.
Went here on a whim and glad we did. Food was absolutely fantastic and service was fast and friendly. Enjoyed the vegetarian and vegan options available at the restaurant along with the assortment of drinks. The butternut squash risotto was amazing and the tiramisu was some of the best around.
Excellent small plates and pasta with choices for vegans and veggies. Quick service too. Highly recommended.
The family all love the food here so we decided to go for Sunday lunch. I had roast chicken & others had the roast lamb which looked meltingly amazing! The starters were so tasty too. I had a lovely gin and tonic while my daughter went for a cocktail. The whole experience was so tasty and we were well looked after. I thoroughly recommend Coppi
Fantastic food executed perfectly. The restaurant was really busy and the staff were 100%. Really well looked after. Defo try the cookie
Amazing experience. The pasta is very, very good. The chef has a very unique preparation. Seems subtle and powerful at the same time.
This restaurant is a culinary gem! The ambiance is enchanting, and the service impeccable. Each dish is a masterpiece, bursting with flavor and creativity. A truly unforgettable dining experience that I highly recommend.
Such a gem! Amazing food and cocktails as well as service. Quaint atmosphere in a fun location. Everything we tries from small plates to entrees and cocktails were excellent. Cool patio for nice weather days wish we could have enjoyed. This is a mist visit in Belfast!
Coppi is a lovely dining experience. If you’re looking for a fine dining experience in Belfast I’d definitely recommend it. We had a few appetizers which were good and I definitely enjoyed my ravioli entree. The service was great and attentive. The low lighting cultivates a nice vibe, as well as the restaurant’s layout. The music was an odd choice to me, not quite as calm as I would like for that atmosphere but maybe that’s just me. Definitely enjoyed it!
Situated as it is just a few metres away from the Cathedral, this is a handy restaurant for a good, reasonably priced meal during a sightseeing visit. He thoroughly enjoyed the excellent prawn and crab cocktail, steak and chips and cannoli dolce. I had no trouble working my way through the honey coated feta fritters followed by the very tasty Portavogie prawn ravioli. All the staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful. The only very minor criticism is the restaurant could do with a little more lighting - table lights would suffice.
A nice place in Belfast. Decent food with alright service. I got the feta fritters in truffle honey which was quite delicious. The duck ragu pasta was okay, the duck was honestly just super fried and tasted a little too fatty. I finished it off with the lemon cheesecake - which was to be honest slightly unremarkable. The ambiance inside was nice and open. There are plenty of places to sit and enjoy. An all around decent place for italian food, but nothing overly remarkable about it. I would suggest the feta fritters though.
Nice Italian food, feta cheese with honey was spectacular and the homemade pasta really great. Tiramisu was nice, miss a bit of coffee touch. A bit off the smell of fried fish since you enter in the restaurant
A solid restaurant with OK food in a cool setting! Some dishes were great, like the pizza (we had one as an app) and lasagna. Others were average, like the Irish chicken. And some missed the mark like the spicy sausage risotto. Where was the sausage and the spice?! It was one bowl of reddish brown risotto, one color, and texture. No sausage chunks or spice as promised. The tiramisu was also lacking in flavor and creaminess. I'd go again. You should give it a try.
A great spot for a little Italian bite in Belfast. Leans towards small plates which is great for sharing and trying out new things. The feta fritters and truffle honey were amazing. A couple more vegetarian options though wouldn’t go amiss. A special note - I was there for my birthday and they had a cute little card waiting on the table for me.
Great place , food was very nice but on the pricier end . service was ok but I was missing a fork ,the vibe and atmosphere of the place was amazing and I would go again
Was bit noisy, food was good. Highly recommend the pasta nachos starter
Good atmosphere, location & service was excellent by the staff. Food was ok, limited availability for Vegetarians. Would recommend the seabass 👍
We had dinner here and had a lovely experience. For starters, we shared the Focaccia bread which was very tasty 😋 The portion sizes were perfect and food was delicious. We ordered the Chicken filled pasta, Pumpkin filled pasta and Duck ragu, with sides of cauliflower and chips. For dessert, we shared a Tiramisu. The menu has a variety of options of food and drinks. Location wise, its in a lively area.
I had the pleasure of dining at Coppi in Belfast tonight with a work colleague, and it was a fantastic experience! The restaurant has a lovely modern vibe and the staff were incredibly friendly. We tried the duck pasta and the lasagna, and the lasagna was absolutely delicious—definitely some of the best meat I’ve had in a lasagna! The portions were generous, and the atmosphere was really welcoming. Prices were reasonable for the city centre, and I will definitely be going back. Highly recommend it!
Nice, modern interior. It really looks good. The service, however, seemed to be in a rush. A pity, since the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. The quality of the food was more on the level of a well-meaning home cook. Tasty, but certainly not surprising. It also wasn’t expensive.
Visiting Belfast from Cork for a few days and Coppi was a lovely meal! The atmosphere is lively but still cosy, and the staff were so friendly and happy to explain the menu to us. The food was absolutely gorgeous. Portions were just right and everything tasted really fresh. Would definitely recommend. We'll be back!
Lovely atmosphere. Good sounding menu. Unfortunately the service was slow and the food was lacking in flavour. I could not taste any truffle in the honey with the feta fritters, and the sauce for the veggie ravioli had large chunks of chilli and a very generous (?too many) hazelnuts. However, it was tasteless! The duck ragu was also not very enjoyable. The flavours need some serious work.
Recommended by a friend and came here for dinner. The food was really good; disappointed though by the foreign object I found in my food. They did amend the bill but I had eaten most of it by then...
In my opinion this feels like a knock off of a chain place like zizzis or whatever, it lacks any authentic charm. It was modern dark and industrial and the food was of an acceptable standard. We opted for cichetti (tapas Italian style) and there was a real lack of fresh items to choose from so came out pretty beige, but tasty. Service was pretty poor too. They did however career for vegans as I saw a whole vegan cichetti menu.
The food is overpriced for the quality presented. Tried and failed to get our server's attention several times.
We chose Coppi due to the quality of the reviews regarding both food and ambience. The menu was simple, which we quite like, but the variety of vegetarian options was very limited, especially the starters. My fish main course was relatively good, but nothing to write home about, hence the relatively lacklustre review. If you read my other reviews they are maybe over positive but I can't find something to be over positive about. The staff were lovely and looked very rushed off their feet, they turned around tables at speed and did still manage to be attentive. Most looked ready to drop. Unfortunately this may have been because people were crammed in. For example we were sat at 90 degrees to each other as there was just enough space to get through to other tables. I understand that the restaurant is in an up and coming area but we did find it pricey. We expect to pay good money for good food and we prefer to support smaller restaurants but I can't recommend a Saturday evening service here.
A mixed experience: food is tasty, service is attentive and quick. However, there are better value better Italian style eateries elsewhere in town. The food is nice, and not oversalted. However the portions are noticeably small, compared to both other Italians and to other restaurants in St Annes square itself. There is no beer on tap - in Ireland?! The alcohol-free section of the drinks menu is disappointing. Coke or appletizer - that's pretty much it. The place positions itself as an Italian, however the look and feel is more like Greggs, or a rust belt diner. Even Tim Hortons feels more comfortable by comparison. Especially the lighting: Coppi is too dark to read the menu, and there are no spot lights at the tables. Beware: there is a table charge GBP 5 which is silently added to your bill. And Coppi is closed on Sundays. Scalini and Villa Italia in South Belfast beat Coppi hands down on Italian-ness in both the ambience and the menu content, the Nucci on Antrim Road provides more food per sterling spent, and Frankie & Benny in Victoria shopping centre is a better diner if that's your thing.
Incredible atmosphere and staff - no complaints there! However, the food was quite awful and pricey. Portions are extremely small and we left still hungry and unsatisfied unfortunately. I actually ended up going out for a second dinner after because I was still hungry! If you’re looking for a small snack or just a glass of wine - this is a nice place to start with if you’re willing to spend the money.
Food was ok, disappointing though because the food was delicious last time (2017). Service was lovely and friendly, drinks were great and the restaurant was lovely. It was a shame the food wasn’t up to the rest of the standard. The ragu had too much salt and the veg was undercooked. Bonus is that there are gluten free options
Staff & service was lovely but the food was very disappointing. No vegetables on offer at all & portions tiny, that small we left starving & went to cloth ear for a proper serving.. Hugely over priced for quality of food..
Decided on the set menu, £42 for three courses but on closer inspection we found that the set menu actually ended up slightly dearer than the normal menu. Very naughty indeed! Food for the most part was very good, however £7 for a lemon cheesecake from your local Spar was tough to swallow. But not as tough to swallow as the bill! I believe I was born with free will that allowed me to decide on tipping the service, but sadly the management at Coppi have decided differently and instead automatically added a 'service charge' of £9.90. All in all, I'd recommend this place to people, just not those that I like.
