Fifth Vessel Bellaire Reviews
Fantastic coffee shop! Came here twice during my 3-day stay. The iced bonito is wonderful, and the jalapeño/bacon/goat cheese scone genuinely blew my mind.
This place is an instant pick-me-up from the moment you hear their music playing outside in the street. Good tunes, kind service, great coffee, and yummy food — there’s no other coffee shop in Houston I’d rather go to. You can tell that these baristas handle your drinks with great love and care, and they’re always willing to go the extra mile to make sure you leave happy. Something else I admire is how everything is made in house from their roasted coffee beans, to their drinks’ syrups, and baked goods. This place is definitely worth a try. My top recommendations for anyone going for the first time are: Coffee — Flat White/Cappuccino, Bonito, Yuzu Espresso Tonic, or any of their V60 pour overs Matcha — Honey Matcha, Kaede, or the Momo Food — Tuna Melt, Mushroom Garlic Toast, and Chipotle Brekkie Sandwich Pastries — Banana Nut Loaf, Coffee Cake, and Blueberry Scone
Excellent espresso and selection of nice coffees on pour over. I had a Loquat and Stereoscope hand brew - really neat to see they carried Stereoscopes stuff. Definitely check this place out if you lean into black coffee and espresso (I cannot speak to their milky drinks). And don’t sleep on the PBJ. Really good folks behind the counter that do coffee very well.
I live a few blocks from Fifth Vessel and always enjoy coming here. I only order their Matcha selections, but I’m sure their other drink options are good too.Their pastries and food are okay and worth trying to see if you personally like it. While it has a cute atmosphere, when it gets busy, you can feel it.Wish there was an additional way to order (QR code at your table, order ahead, etc) to reduce the line or crowding.
If you’re ever in downtown Houston, this is your best bet for high-quality coffee and great food! They take great pride in partnering with incredibly talented roasters from around the world for some of their drinks, while the rest are roasted by the owner. This coffee shop has truly become a downtown staple — community-driven, warm, and full of kindness from the staff!
Fifth Vessel Coffee is such a quaint little gem! Their menu is refreshingly different, with creative twists on classic coffee and tea options. The pastries are fresh-baked and delicious, and they also serve hot sandwiches that are just as tasty and comforting. The vibe is cool and relaxed, and the staff are always so kind and approachable — you can really feel the welcoming atmosphere. I’ve visited throughout the year, and my go-to hot drink is the Texas Blossom — a lovely blend infused with honey and cardamom. For iced coffee, I absolutely love the Bonito, made with your choice of milk, cinnamon, and vanilla. Both are perfection in a cup! If you’re looking for a cozy spot with great coffee, unique flavors, and friendly people — this is it.
Stopped by this small cafe in Houston and loved it! I had a matcha and it was seriously one of the best I’ve had — smooth, not too sweet, and perfectly balanced. The vibe of the place was super cute and cozy, perfect for a quick break or catching up with a friend. Definitely a spot I’d come back to.
Nestles on the outskirt of the northern part of downtown and across from the University is this cute and cozy coffee shop with a welcoming environment. They have a unique roast which is a bit strong for me but if you like an espresso with a punch, then you will love this place. Customer service was top notch and their pastries are delicious and divine and baked in house. I would come back and try their decaf espresso or ask for a half a shot of espresso and try some more pastries. Also, there is only street parking which is $2 an hour but if you happen to be visiting downtown Houston just hop the train and come on over for a visit.
- nice and helpful staff. Delivered the orders in a short time - order eggs on toast and one of their espresso desert with iced coffee. The food was delicious and the coffee tasted good - the place is small, but fits the purpose and clean as well. Overall, great experience and recommend to visit
Cozy atmosphere with a home-made feel. Great place to study. The staff are super friendly and the pastries are delicious. We had their Texas Blossom Latte and a slice of Chocolate Chip Banana Bread with blueberries in it. Definitely ask for it warmed up, as the edges were crispy and the center was soft and gooey!! My only complaint was that I could not taste the cardamom or many other flavors in the latte, but it was definitely well-made.
Cardomom matcha - 9/10 - $9.50 - Loved the cardamom flavor and creamy foam, would prefer a tad more matcha Strawberry matcha - 8/10 - $9 - Tasted like strawberry 🍓milk with matcha, would be better with strawberry puree and more matcha but still good Maple matcha - 7/10 - $9 - Vanilla foam on this was good but the sweetness overpowered the matcha flavor Fifth vessel has some of the stronger matchas ive had (rockys matcha) even though i personally would prefer a bit more🙈 Overall a good spot for matcha🍵 if youre in the area but definitely overpriced for their small cup sizes😭 (mine was gone in like 1 sip)
I swung by this spot on a crisp Sunday morning and decided to grab a cortado with a slice of coffee cake. I'll admit, I’ve never spent so much on a single slice of coffee cake, but hey, there’s a first time for everything. The café's interior is all about clean, modern vibes with large windows that flood the space with natural light and sleek, wood-paneled walls. I also couldn’t get enough of the Harley Davidson wood benches out front. Fifth Vessel Coffee Co. truly shines in Houston's buzzing coffee scene, offering a laid-back yet refined atmosphere that makes you want to stick around.
Cute but pricy Christian coffee shop in downtown Houston. I would keep this in my coffee shop rotation on another Sunday (free parking) but try a different drink. Food: I tried their Momo (peach and matcha) latte. It was decently flavorful but sickly sweet. Even in a small cup, mostly filled with ice, it had a healthy dosage of sugar pumped in. Lastly it was pricy at $6.75 ($8.30 with tax + tip) for a small coffee mostly of ice. Service: the owners Diana and Josh are nice and run the place themselves with staff. They did close a bit earlier than the listed hours on Google maps but it was their second time ever opening on Sunday. Atmosphere: the store is compact but clean and aesthetic with the coffee grinders in the main sitting area. Overall, it’s a warm space to catch up with a friend or study. The corner location and large windows let in plenty of natural light. There’s a good amount of seating from bar-style to large co-working tables to two-person tables and chairs. There are limited wall outlets (2 by the bar seating) so come with your devices charged. They’ve only been open for a couple years so the interior still feels bright and modern.
Just wasn’t my type of Coffee, or maybe I got the wrong thing. But the atmosphere is nice, and you can go across the street and sit next to the Bayou.
Overhyped, imo. Started seeing lots of TikTok’s saying this place has the best matcha in Houston and decided to check it out while in the area. The cashier wasn’t really friendly and kind of rushed us to order. The drinks came out looking better than they actually tasted and I’m still laughing at the fact that I paid $2 extra per drink for oat milk in subpar drinks. Cute vibe though!
I’ve never been more disappointed by a matcha latte. I have come back here twice while cafe hopping and have tried almost all of the matcha lattes on their menu. I’m not sure what’s going on, but for some reason, I can barely taste the matcha or flavoring in the drinks. It tastes like milk and nothing more, which is incredibly disappointing as the drinks can be very expensive (paid $12 for a strawberry matcha latte with oat milk). The rave is what brought me back the second time, thinking, “Maybe they weren’t feeling their best the first time” but was faced with the same dilemma as before. I’m sure the other drinks on their menu are good, but their matcha latte wasn’t worth the price.
Absolutely unprofessional business. I purchased a latte from them and told the barista that my drink didnt taste right and didn’t have any vanilla syrup in it. The barista then stared daggers at me with a visibly angry face and told me that my own order was wrong. When the boss came out to help with the situation he was completely unhelpful and said that the mistake was my fault. The barista then “fixed” my order with the mannerisms of an angry child. Add to this the fact that my scone was raw and wet. Embarassing waste of time and disappointing service. Will never do business here again and I recommend others do the same
