Dog Haus Belmont Reviews
The food is top notch. I've liked everything I've tried. Burgers: Little Mule and The Hangover. Sausages: T-Mex (pictured), Reservoir Hog and Das Brat. Sides: Tots and 💜The Love Boat Tots💜. For those of you who might care, they have "impossible" options, too! There's a broad, interesting, and presumably changing selection of beers on tap. I don't like beer, but I was intrigued by a raspberry ale. They gave me a sample. It is so creamy and delicious! Once I went to pick up take-out and had to stay for the raspberry ale. (I could tell you who makes it but then you might not go in to try the food.) The people are friendly and helpful. You get great quality at an average price. I have never eaten inside. The outside is spacious, and has a better soundtrack than inside. (This may be my imagination.) I've always gone at odd times, so I can't speak to the "crowd."
Awesome spot for wursts, tots and beer!! Highly recommend esp for the food. I do wish they had more German beer though but a def must visit in the peninsula.
Best burger I've had in California, hands down. I love it here, don't get me wrong, but since moving from the midwest I've been on an endless quest for a burger like this. No veggies, no frills, flavorful patty, and onions caramelized and buns toasted to perfection. From the first bite I knew my quest was over. I also like that they have sliders so I can have a smaller meal. The tots and onion rings were good too.
My wife gave a brutal review so I'll give a nicer one. Don't worry, we're not fighting. It's fine. Everything is fine. Best onion rings I've had in a long time and will be back for more. I really appreciated the beer tastings and the selection was just fine. Might consider adding some dessert stouts and more complex hefeweizens, but all the beers were popular or interesting. A lot of safe choices. Fast no-nonsense service. I only have two critical recommendations: 1. Fix whatever that awful vibration was when entering. Literally feeling the negative vibes when you come in. 2. Offer pretzels. Never been to a beer garden that didn't have big fluffy salted pretzels.
First time visiting. Had the $10.99 Ringer Smash Burger on 4 small Kings Hawaiian buns, which makes for a mushy bun but still one of the better burgers I’ve had. Their tots were also good and a very generous portion. Will be back for lunch tomorrow, to try something else. Cashier wasn’t very friendly and pre-occupied with a personal call, in between customers.
I ain’t ever been to the location physically. But let me tell yall, this place has a chokehold on us. We order Dog Haus through Door Dash at least once a week, every weekend. The quality and taste is so consistent, no matter what we order. The sliders and hot dogs are fantastic. The Cali burrito is so good and packed. The tater tots and fries are perfect. The other thing we love about it is the packaging! It’s so good and perfect in the boxes/ boats. The delivery is always SO FAST. The HAWAIIAN ROLLS AS A BUN IS GENIUS. We will definitely visit the place one day but for now, we really enjoy the food delivered to the house. Thank you dog Haus! Updated, finally visited the location and it was amazing. Plenty of beer options, seating, and the food was just as good. Service was great.
Dog Haus is an amazing spot to grab a casual bite to eat with a friend, or even a larger group. Tons of options, high quality, and plenty of seating. My only complaint was that the restaurant was quite cold inside. I had to keep a jacket on while we ate. Other than that, it was a great experience.
Update Feb 2024: Still brilliant as ever. Can't believe we haven't stopped by more often. Great food, great beer, great atmosphere. Not sure what more can one want. ****** Phenomenal place. If you are in to gourmet hot dogs, freshly prepared fries and a beer, you cannot possibly beat Dog Haus. They use the Hawaiian buns as their rolls and the sausages are decorated innovatively and creatively. They go perfectly with the industrial vibe - modern yet homely. It straddles between a upscale family-friendly restaurant and a weekend sports bar, but with fresh and clean vibe. Highly recommend whether you have kids or meeting up with colleagues. What a jewel in Belmont. Will return often!
This place is awesome! We had the bad mutha clucka chicken sandwich, hangover burger, a hotdog, a slider and tots. I love how you can add interesting stuff (caramelized onions, cotija, fried egg, miso ranch, pastrami, etc.) to their sandwiches as well as regular stuff (lettuce, mayo, onions and tomato.) The bread for the burgers and dogs were little slider buns. They were so buttery soft and just falls apart when you bite into it. We all loved our tots. Great job everyone at Dog Haus.
Hands down the best hot dog I've had! I'll keep it simple. The fries had a perfect crunchy exterior with a soft interior, making them have the right amount of bite. The hot dog had great flavor, and adding on fried onions and BBQ sauce for The Cowboy dog gave great texture and heightened the experience. Add on the use of Hawaiian roles for the bun, and oh boy do you have a winner. Vastly exceeded expectations and I can't wait to go back to try their other hot dogs and bratwursts!
It's all about the weiners and beer. Went for the classic chilli dog and chili cheese tots. Ratio of 80% dog to 20% bun is perfect. Using a Hawaiian sweet roll for the bun is a gourmet touch. Sweet bun and salty chili compliments a juicy hot dog. Tots were crispy just the way we like them. If you like chili an extra side will help satisfy the crave. Nice selection of beers on tap. Look forward to trying them all with friends.
Only been to one in Arizona. It's fresh, made to order. My favorite is there chili. Everything is really good from hamburgers to sausages, the corn dogs are really good. The sides are great and the fresh made milkshakes. Everything is made in house.
The area to chill is chill. Tons of space outdoors and variety of beers but the glasses they pour them in are warm. The burgers and dogs are sweet. If you have a pallet for for savory foods this will be okay. If you’re a sweet tooth, the food is very sweet
We came here just before closing. First of all, the hot dogs were fantastic. Chili the kid, standard chili dog and some other stuff that that I had we're absolutely delicious and fresh. And then we ordered french fries and they came out fresh and crispy and seasoned and absolutely delightful. The buns that the hot dogs are served on are absolutely insane.
Beer and food were ok. Onion rings were pretty tasty. But the vibe was just too noisy for me. Sitting outside was quiet but a lot of cars around. I prefer other places over this one.
Went there for lunch with a buddy after missing out on their grand opening. If you're a hot dog/hamburger purist/lover, you'll enjoy it here. The King's Hawaiian Roll buns are just delicious. The salted caramel shake is smooth and creamy. Had to have a PBR in a paper bag as a throwback to college days. Wonderful, wonderful concept they have here. Good amount of tv screens at the bar. The menu is simple, yet enough variety to keep you coming back. I can't wait to try everything. The micro brewery beer selection looks great. Good value on all prices. Outdoor seating if you like. Parking is tight, though. UPDATE: They changed their rolls. I don't feel it's the same Hawaiian sweet rolls, different color and bland taste. That changes everything. Their service is not as good and their beer serves at differing warm temperatures. They haven't cleaned their outdoor dining area in years.. So disappointed.
We came here as a group of four and had a tab of about $160 for beer and food. After ordering, we noticed that the restaurant advertises a happy hour on its website. Almost every item we ordered was listed as discounted during that time. When we asked about it, we were told that the happy hour was not applied because we didn’t specifically mention it before ordering. The staff said we should have known about it and pointed it out in advance. That’s really disappointing. If a happy hour is advertised publicly, it should be honored automatically during the stated time — not only if guests explicitly ask for it. Otherwise, it feels misleading. The food and drinks were fine, but this handling of the situation left a bad impression and took away from what could have been a good evening. Transparency and consistency matter, especially at this price point.
We showed up around 7 PM and sat right at the empty bar, directly in front of the beer taps — the heart of any brew house. The bartender was there, cleaning and chatting with another staff member. The place wasn’t busy. No greeting, no eye contact, no service. After 10 minutes, he finally walked over and, without apology, barked, “You order over there at the order spot.” Really? Since when is the bar *not* the place to order at a bar? We stood up and left. One star — and that’s only for the decent-looking exterior and good location. Everything else? Zero.
