Coffee Nine Ben Lomond Reviews
My party of 3 tourists (senior citizens) ate a breakfast and a lunch at this restaurant in July 2019. The reason we chose this cafe is .... well, you might find it funny. Both times we wanted to eat at the restaurant across the street, Spanky's, and both times we were unable to get in. During our first visit to Spanky's, it was too crowded with a long line. Our second trip to Spankys ... it was closed. So we walked across the street to Coffee Nine coffeehouse. And it was great! Short lines, quick service, cute room, and an especially nice outdoor patio beneath a giant shade tree. Good sandwiches. Nice place. Calm and uncrowded. Highly recommended.
Staff very friendly some gluten-free options on their pastries
Killing time today before school pickup and decided to stop in. Super cute little place! The manager was really friendly and made an excellent coffee for me. Not much GF options so sadly I couldn’t get anything to eat but he assured me that they are working on expanding their menu as he is GF himself. Will be back for the delicious coffee regardless. 😊
Kismet. John was very helpful even though I am the kind of customer who talks too much as well as asks too many questions. Equator Coffee Beans are to die for and they’ll waive the cup fee if you bring in a clean mug!
My experience here was the coolest ever. The staff brings it all in. Everything else here is icing. Coffee is perfect. The food is delicious and filling. The work space is unique. There's even an outside seating!!! That's not all! The staff are incredibly kind and funny! Once you had your fun here, take a look at the merch! Take a stroll into the many local trails with your coffee and snack in tow! I love coffee 9
Coffee 9 has been the go-to coffee shop in Ben Lomond for decades. Always a friendly and comfortable hang out. Recent (a couple years?) ownership change resulted in some good upgrades to facility and menu. And now every time I order something that needs preparation, after waiting a few minutes the chef himself serves it to me. Nice touch! If you are looking for your morning blast, an afternoon pick-me-up, or just a quick snack, check out Coffee 9!
I absolutely adore coffee nine. They provide such a warm and welcoming environment for humans of all varieties (biggest shout outs to Liam and Andora; y'all have my whole heart)💜 PS- the ham and cheese croissants are out of this world
What a great little coffee spot in the Santa Cruz mountains. Loved the drinks, food and staff here. Liam is so friendly. Thanks for the Jalapeño Cheese bagel recommendation. That was one of the best eggs sandwiches I've had.
Excellent place to drop by and get lunch. The tamales are delicious. Burritos 🍔. This is Rex. I'll bring you some more real hot sauce. Hehehe. Way to go 😁
Best spicy chai!! Always friendly staff, fresh and tasty food, enjoyable to chill inside or outside. Speedy WiFi. Grateful for this neighborhood spot.
Cute little coffee place with excellent coffee choices and a list of fresh sandwiches. Friendly, patient staff, answering all our questions. Staff looked happy to be there.
I LOVE this place! They have clean, organic options - would highly recommend the tamales. YUM. And great service, too.
Great location and friendly staff. The Coffee Nine - coffee selection is far from slim and they’ve got all the bells n whistles if you like it EXTRA. I love my witches brew and the Red Woods so finding best of both worlds tucked away under the tree tops along Hwy 9 is Ben Lomond.
My favorite local coffee shop. No pretentious vibes like that hipster place down the road in Felton... Just friendly mountain folk and great coffee served quickly. The food is good as well and the menu is larger than expected. Fresh donuts are great!
Best smoothies ever! I recommend the cookie monster if you love chocolate. Ye be warned about ordering the large, cause that's a lot of chocolate. I can't even handle it but I order it anyways and finish it all (with a full stomach) They keep things more clean than they used to also. And their staff is really nice too! The only throwback is that they close at 5. :'( Overall though it's one of the best coffee places ever!
A must stop whenever we visit Santa Cruz!
Great place for a coffee and a bite. You can even get a beer and sit outside on the deck. We'll definitely be back, super friendly staff.
Great coffee shop with tasty treats and friendly and welcoming service! Glad to have them in the neighborhood!
I've been here several times over the years and it's always a good experience. Aside from the great coffee drinks and food, is the fact that the staff behind the counter know and greet everybody who comes in. What more could you ask for, great customer service, great coffee, food and an overall good vibe and value.....will stop when in Boulder Creek, recommend you do as well, you won't be disappointed.
Good service, pastry good. Stopped by for a quick breakfast to go. Restrooms are available, thats a plus for me. Since I drive 8-10hrs a day. Next time I will try the coffee :)
Grabbed a quick coffee and pastry here two mornings in a row. The pastries were top-notch! I'm not certain if they make them there, but they were definitely fresh and made with quality ingredients, seemed hand made for sure.
Stopped here early Saturday morning — they were already open. Fresh pastries and sandwiches made right on the spot. Cozy inside, smells like home baking. A few parking spots right in front of the café. Seating available both inside and outside. Perfect little stop to grab coffee and something warm before hitting the road.
Came here on vacation, very happy we did! Food was very good, made fresh and was very flavorful! Highly recommend checking it out, I got the works burrito which was very tasty!
Great coffee in a well run establishment with. Good range of pastries and snacks. Zucchini slice was magnificent.
Great local coffee shop, friendly staff and people as well everyone Says good morning. Food is good I got a breakfast burrito and big coffee and paid less than 7 dollars. Coffee is good and they have all different kinds from decaf to strong. Definitely will be coming back. Regarding parking is done by Street and some on back best to park on side streets and walk.
The lox cream cheese bagel is delicious. Comfortable chairs on the little outside patio.
Wonderfully comfortable black coffee. But more importantly it was the pastries. The spinach-feta croissant was well beyond an amazing treat of a breakfast - BEST CROISSANT EVER! Also, I had another pastry I took out for a later-in-the-morning snack: A CHEDDAR JALAPEÑO BAGEL with cream cheese - YUM! Yes it was the best bagel I ever had too! Also, the staff was very nice. Coffee 9: what a perfect name for a genuine tourist stop with unique gourmet food on the beautiful highway 9 corridor! Being from San Rafael, my chances of going to Ben Lomond are quite a bit low, but coming here was a great way to seize that travel opportunity!
A paradise stopover for drivers to get a coffee in the canyon. Very tranquil place and friendly staff.
Tried this place for the first time. Folks were in town for the holiday weekend, excellent bagels!

Great food options, truly excellent latte, fresh delicious bagel, tamales, and they even have beer. Relaxing pleasant atmosphere
Great coffee and good ambiance. The service was also fabulous
We came here while on vacation and were so glad we did! The food was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend checking it out—I ordered the Works burrito, and it was amazing!
Worth the hype! The bagel sandwiches are huge and delicious. I got an egg, cheese, and sausage on a sesame bagel and my partner got the pesto cream cheese on a garlic bagel.
This place is soo cute!!! Is a cute little wooden cabin that has vines and greenery inside Outdoor seating too, gorgeous place. Staff is super attentive and the food was amazing !!! The staff made this place they were offering amazing conversation and definitely made the place feel even warmer. I ordered an iced vanilla latte (they even asked me how sweet I liked my vanilla latte and made it customized for me which was amazing and I appreciated that gesture) I also ordered a ham, cheese, green onion quiche, it was fluffy and a 100/10 best quiche I have EVER had. Definitely will be back for more iced coffee and a quiche <3333
Coffee Nine! AMAZING Latte with an additional shot and a fresh scone. The peeps are Super-Friendly and inviting atmosphere. This a must stop place for that last stretch before Big Basin. ☕️
I love it here. Coffee is great, food is amazing, location is fun. Some items are a little inflamed but I love coming here.
Stayed at a friend’s house in Ben Lomond & stopped here on our way out of town. Holy amazeballs they have the best bagels I’ve ever tasted in my life! Their food is top shelf & I will be dreaming about their drip coffee and lattes.

Staff was awesome, great service no complaints there. I found the dark roast coffee to be lacking in flavor.ayne it was just weak? Or not a very good roast? Don't know.
Great neighbourhood roadside coffee shop to grab a coffee and baked good to go, or stop for lunch. Several indoor and outdoor tables. Parking out back. Had the southwest chicken sandwich: made to order, big pieces of real chicken, the seeded bread was divine, nice hum from the sw aioli. Small local gifts for sale. Can buy coffee in bulk and grind on site. Parking out back. Wish I bought myself a C9 Trucker Hat. Friendly staff.
Just stating I'm from out of town first. Tried the tomato, spinach quiche and was not a fun, my carmel hazelnut latte was good just need to be sweeter couldn't really taste any carmel or hazelnut. BUT OMG THE PLAIN SOURDOUGH BAGEL! BEST I'VE EVER HAD! I will be thinking about this sourdough for months to come.

This place is a bit expensive. But you have to keep in mind you are in the mountains. The staff is usually very kind, but it is a smaller place so it's always a better to go place than a sit place, as usually tables are full.

The quiche was delicious but the latte I ordered tasted like very weak regular coffee. Food is good but coffee could be improved. I’ll definitely try it again because I love to support local business, but hope the coffee is better next time.
Coffee is good but my muffins is a bit hard and cold.
Coffee is good but my muffins is a bit hard and cold.
I’ve tried coming a few times but every time I see the menu I’m just reminded of how everything looks quality, is overpriced and I could make it better at home
Coffee is good, but waiting 30 min for this without prior notice is too much.
This place used to be happy, upbeat, and friendly. Now I feel that everytime I go in the employees are forced to be there, don't greet guests and ignore them at the counter, they aren't knowledgeable about coffee ingredients. I've given up tipping since when I go in I have to change out empty half&half or an empty coffee decanter or help clean up the sugar station. I ask for sugar substitutes to put in coffee and I was redirected to simple syrups and given attitude when confirming what im looking for. When asked to look in backstock(since I know you guys have splenda) I've had to make a request to heat the burritos up all the way since the inside will be icy if you don't(Sadly learned from a soggy cold commute burrito) and was given attitude that day. I've been around since before coffee points were on cash app and can definitely say officially you will no longer be my 3rd option for morning commute coffee. Bring back the "hey good morning be right with you!" From ANY staff seeing a waiting customer, smile? Music? Prozac? So sad, make coffee 9 great again.
Bland excuse for a coffee shop. If you like coffee flavored bean water and overpriced cold food that’s supposed to be hot, this is the perfect place for you! It is not the same coffee shop as it was in the past, even if you walked in with little to no expectation you would still be disappointed. Walked in with my husband, was ignored by staff who were not actively busy, had to wave profusely to get anyone’s attention. The owner finally looked up and went to the counter to take my order, no greeting, just a blank, hollow stare. This was so unsettling, that I asked him how HE was doing, nothing but a mutter. Oh well, we all have bad days. Went ahead and ordered a Cold brew, which is $6 plus tax, plus cup fee. It’s 8oz of ice and 3oz of coffee in a 16oz cup (yes I measured it, brought to you by my autism). It is amber colored like a tea, not black. The breakfast burrito was tiny, the potatoes were cold and tasted like they were cooked 3-4 days in advance. As a pregnant woman and a chef, this is exactly how you get people sick - serving old and untemped food. I asked for the bathroom key and the owner was very adamant that I needed to return it when I was done as if I looked like I was gonna steal it. All in all, I did not appreciate the third class “service” at this “coffee” shop. They serve equator coffee purchased from Amazon with no clue of the origin and a bad attitude. Do better or sell it to an actual local who knows what they’re doing.
