Galligaskin's Submarines Benbrook Reviews
Galligaskin's has great sandwiches. There are tons of options! They do offer a few vegetarian options too. Sandwiches come in 3 different sizes and you can customize as much as you want. Sides include fries, tater tots, fried okra, chips and more. My favorite is the fried okra. Also give the Galligaskin's pepper sauce a try. It's a great topping. You'll find the bottle to the right of the drink station. They have cokes, lemonade and tea. Try all the classic sandwich toppings. The cherry peppers aren't really spicy but add good flavor. Kids meals available. Booths and tables/chairs available. This place is a hidden gem! Give it a try!
If you’re looking for incredible sandwiches and amazing sides, this is the spot. It may look like a little hole in the wall, but the food speaks for itself. Everything is fresh, packed with flavor, and made with love. Highly suggests topping in!
Great submarine sandwich shop in fort Worth one of if not the oldest sandwich shop. The burgers are pretty good as well. The house made relish they put on the subs is amazing.
My husband and I have been coming here for the last 46 years and the food consistency is amazing. Hot, delicious and served with a smile. Love this place.

I recently met a gentleman named Joey, and during our conversation he said he owned Galligaskin's, "the oldest sub shop in Texas." Since I always like visiting family owned, "heritage" eateries I decided to make a visit for lunch. Before going, I did check their reviews to see what others had said. For my visit I had a great experience with friendly staff, quick service, and a good sub and tator tots. I ordered the mushroom steak sub, tots and a drink. My sub had a nice portion of steak, melted cheese, and topped with a little lettuce and peppers. I've never had a hot steak sub with lettuce, and while unexpected, it was good. The tots were crispy and hot. The bun was soft and fresh while holding up to the juicy steak and mushrooms. For added flavor I used the Galligaskin's branded hot sauce, which had a nice roasted pepper profile with a little heat. For a Saturday afternoon I was lucky and parked next to the front door. Parking could be a challenge during peak times. There was plenty of seating. Just a little south of the heritage district of Fort Worth, Galligaskin's is worth a visit for a nice lunch or early dinner.
Been visiting here since the late 70s and they are as good now as back then... We had a half order of cheese sticks, fries and a small and a med (2 pieces) steak and mushroom sub. Meat doesn't taste like a processed cold cut but actually IS steak. Ask for cheese... I got double..lol..and it's melty and in the meat. Not over priced like Subway and is SO much better
We have been coming here for years. We had moved out of town for several years. We made sure to try it since we moved back. We will have to get back into the flow of ordering our food the way we like it prepared (cheese cooked with the meat and veggies, right mix of veggies). Still busy, fast service, good food.
This place got almost five star not for the food it’s because it’s been around that long brings old memories. Look at the majority of the clientele lol. The food itself is highly greasy, quiet bland and cheap.
Sadly not at all what I had hoped for as a first timer. I've had this place saved on my wish list for a few years and high hopes because of the score. Don't live anywhere near here and was finally in this area and very hungry at the same time. So today was the day. Maybe i went wrong ordering the 4 inchers but the sandwiches were incredibly bland to me. Maybe a full size of either would've been more flavorful. I got the gulli deluxe and a mushroom steak. I feel like all the toppings overpowered the meat in every way. I couldn't taste any of the steak meat. Just bread and veggies. The bread is great though and so are the fresh cut fries. The gulli was so dry and bland to me that I went and asked for mayo. For the mayo lovers, be warned, it's not mayo. It's salad dressing. It brought on way too much of a sweetness to it. IF I ever come back, it would be to try a burger. The person taking orders was not giving her full attention in taking orders. Her and another lady were making what seemed to be some kind of puffs with fresh cut strawberries. She finally turned to start taking my order. as I was trying to decide on a sweet treat to add to my meal, a guy that walked in after me... she asked what he wanted to order. I found that highly rude but it is what it is. The total price was reasonable so I didn't feel too cheated, if anything just a waste of calories. I could've eaten elsewhere and been more satisfied.
Finally tried it, and was so disappointed! Tried the cheesesteak sandwich, and it was like none I've ever had. The bread was fresh, but all downhill from there. The steak was very salty and tasted vaguely of griddle sludge, and the cheese was nearly invisible. There were no detectable peppers or onions, though there was a side of cold chopped veg/pickle toppings. Tots were a bit greasy, and tasted like the oil they were fried in was old/stale.
A coworker says these are the best subs in the area and I really hope she’s wrong. Hardly any chicken salad in my sub. The bread is hard and dry and falling apart. Got the okra and it was bland. There was no salt on it at all. the tea is good though and that’s why it gets two stars.
The food was good. My partner and I each got 7" Philly steak with combo (his chips/drink, mine's tots/drink). I do wish there was more meat/cheese in our Phillys. It was more bread then anything. Please see our attached pictures. Probably wouldn't go back due to this reason. Prices just don't match what you get sadly. $8.99 was just for the Philly. $3.99 extra for the combo.
