When my husband suggested Roam based on crème brûlée flight options alone - it was at the top of my list for what to do in Bend while here. I was even willing to skip dinner! But I could seriously tour the menu because there wasn’t one item that didn’t appeal to me despite a sensitive stomach. Awesome options! I overheard a house favorite is the Wagyu Bolognese, but again I would have been thrilled with all the options if we were planning dinner over dessert (menu in photos) But still fell for an appetizer because who wouldn’t try a Dungeness Crab fondue! Saved the rest of our appetite for our planned crème brûlée flight this visit so we will definitely “tour” their menu again! The atmosphere, off the main streets, top talent service were everything we appreciate about a date night out! For our flight we tried the Brown Sugar Bourbon & Bacon, Marionberry Pie, Madagascar Vanilla, and Espresso Cream
If you haven’t had the chance to eat here, make it a priority. The service was wonderful, we had Brandon and he was very attentive, fun and witty. The food was absolutely spectacular. My 14-year-old daughter said it was the best maple sausage she’s ever had. We are from Seattle and wanted to have a special breakfast for my husband‘s birthday, and we are very happy that we chose Roam for our special event. We ordered the eggs, Benedict, the biscuits and gravy, the breakfast burrito, and the French toast.
Located in the Oxford Hotel, Roam is one of the nicer restaurants in Bend. Our meal tonight was excellent, and the service in the bar area was fantastic. We really love the overall look of this restaurant as well. Highly recommended!
Food was amazing. Server was very attentive and gave plenty of space/not overbearing, and was friendly. Atmosphere was fine… nothing amazing, but did good. With the exception of how the noise travels in the restaurant… they probably need more noise dampeners because the echo effect amplified a lot of noise. More details on why I rated what I did below. Update 1: as promised didn’t have a repeat performance of utensils cleaning twice since and therefore I am upping the star rating to 5 again. Food 5/5: was fantastic. Zero complaints… with MAYBE a miner feedback. The artichoke bread (totally but hung the name), the bread was pretty thick and hearty and therefore stole a lot of the flavor. Not enough to even lower my start rating. We also love that the food is seasonal, local, and they try to organic and sustainable. It really makes us rest easier. My wife has to be very careful with what she eats due to illness, and this makes us relax on that front. Service 4/5: Not because our server was bad or the interaction was less ideal, but because of what some of the staff was doing (unrelated to us). In the booth next to us, someone was organizing utensils and every time they would place something down it sounded like someone throwing it down into a pile of other utensils. It was EXTREMELY disruptive to the environment of having a calm date night with my wife. She literally had to get up and walk outside till they were done because it was giving her a headache. I probably should have said something to them, but they kept getting up and walking away and I would think, “oh, they are probably done” and I didn’t want to make a scene. Atmosphere 4/5: as mentioned above. The noise factor could use some improvement, but it was pretty nice all around.
Loved going here for brunch! The strawberry rhubarb chicken salad is a must try & you can never go wrong with the classic eggs benedict. Not only was the food super tasty, but the service was exceptional. Brandon and Cade served on us and always made sure our waters were filled. Very professional, attentive and friendly.
Excellent customer service and fabulous food. Jenny had great recommendations and checked inf frequently at our table ! 5/5 would recommend and food quality and presentation was great!
Wow,… was not expecting much from a hotel restaurant but it definitely exceeded my expectations. The ambiance, service, food & cocktails were all excellent. Our salads, bruschetta and smoked salmon dip were all very delicious. The menu is especially nice because it defines food designations for each dish (vegetarian, gluten-free, etc…) which is a plus for those diners who have food restrictions. Also a plus that they offered gluten free pasta (I didn’t try it but will when I return) The only problem with the menu is that my choice to eat wasn’t easy due to all their wonderful items. I’m sure I’ll be going back to eat my way through the menu. We saw other diners of the dishes and they all looked delicious. I hope Roam can retain their front and back of house employees in this difficult labor market and I hope it’s successful because it’s a gem of a restaurant in our area.
Wonderful atmosphere!! Great foods and fantastic staff. Definitely will be back.
Roam is the restaurant inside of the Oxford Hotel. It's open long hours and has lots of tables inside and outside. They have a decent sized menu and prices are ok considering the average portion sizes. Lots of freshly made food though which is nice. The service here is good, although when it gets busy you can get missed for a bit. Food os pretty good as well, their brunch menu is limited to a few breakfast specials and then lunch stuff.
I was very impressed with this place. We ate here with a party of 12 on Easter morning, our server was absolutely amazing, as were the food and drinks. The atmosphere is perfect, and it was the exact vibe that we were looking for. Lots of diverse options on the menu so it easily catered to my allergy-ridden family.
So much to say but here it is in a nutshell..... The atmosphere was amazing and comfy, the service (shout out to Anna) was amazing and the food was freaking delicious! I had the eggs Benedict classic with a blood Orange Mimosa. Yummmm
The food here is amazing, all the breakfast options taste great. Best to make a reservation and be ready to relax and ask for the bread service! French toast, pancakes, hashes, and omelets are great. Loved the elk sausage and the pumpkin pancake.
Great flavors and decent portion size for the price. We got the Ahi tuna starter, the pork belly, and the pumpkin chicken enchiladas. The ahi starter could have used more mini-crackers to eat the tuna with, but the flavors were great. The mains were both delicious. I had the enchiladas and the chicken sold the dish for me: perfectly tender and flavorful. We look forward to going back and trying more!
If I lived in Oregon, this is a restaurant I’d make a trip for. Easily one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time (and I love to eat). Cody was a fabulous server, very friendly and knowledgeable, and made sure our glasses were always full. The cocktails and wine were solid, and I also appreciated their non-alcoholic options that are more than just soda - they’re also alcohol-free drinks. We had apps for dinner: (L-R in the picture) Burrata caprese salad, pesto chicken aracini, Bang Bang shrimp, pork belly sliders, honey whipped feta with grilled peaches. We also got the wagyu sliders, which were flavorful and had an excellent char on them. My favorites were the pork belly sliders (melt-in-your-mouth perfection, extremely flavorful but not too rich, nice crunch added by the veggies) - legit the best ones I’ve ever had! - and the honey whipped feta with grilled peaches. The honey whipped feta was light, airy, and had such an interesting flavor, especially paired with the peaches. For dessert, the créme brûlée (a salted caramel pretzel topping over vanilla custard, and the Madagascar Vanilla, which came with berries.) The salted, caramelized pretzels were my personal favorite but the custard itself was excellent too!
1) The Roam Salad is mixed lettuce with poached northwest pears, rogue creamery blue cheese, candied hazelnuts and champagne vinaigrette. It was very fresh and the dressing coverage was just right: not too much or little. Choice to add chicken or salmon. My salmon was cooked medium and was flavorful. Nice combo with the salad. 2) The Butternut Squash Bisque is some of the best I’ve ever had. More thick than other versions and I really enjoyed that. Staff was professional and on task. Bathrooms are in the adjoined hotel and very clean. Artwork is from there.
Food was even better than we were expecting. They did a wonderful job on the interior decor and the ambience was great. Appetizers were great, the chicken was perfectly cooked and all the flavors complimented each other perfectly,
For a Frenchy travelling across the Pacific Northwest, the stop at Roam was a blast! I did not expect such a highly professional staff and mesmerizing cuisine. Bravo to the Chef whose cuisine captures the best value of Blend: trendy and traditional! Thank you all for the great evening.
Had a lovely meal! Extremely tasty! Had the Calamari for an appetizer & the Pork Belly was so juicy! Had a great time!
Fantastic. Can’t wait to return. We visited for lunch on Christmas Day. They had their full brunch menu with a large variety of egg, sandwich, and salad options. I had one of the smoke salmon eggs benedict and my wife had the turkey club. Both arrived hot and nicely presented and were delicious. They were unfortunately out of cranberry bitters, so I couldn’t try the Griswold cocktail and settled for their Midnight Manhattan, which was solid, though the amaro was not particularly noticeable in the flavor. Dessert was a no-brainer with a menu of crème brûlée options to choose from. We went traditional vanilla and were not disappointed. Right up there with the best crème brûlée I’ve ever had. The hostess and our server were very pleasant and ensured we were well taken care of. A really great experience in all respects.
We stumbled upon Roam after being turned away by a few fully booked spots, and we couldn’t be more grateful they accepted us as a walk-in. From the moment we stepped in, the atmosphere was inviting, modern, and comfortable—exactly the kind of place you want to settle into for a great meal. Our server, Cody, was outstanding—warm, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The service was top-notch from start to finish. As for the food—absolutely phenomenal. I had the blackened chicken, and hands down, it was the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly seasoned, juicy, and packed with flavor. My wife ordered the Steak Frites and couldn’t stop raving about it. Every bite felt like a treat. We’re already planning to come back for our anniversary. Roam truly made our night, and we can’t wait to return
Stopped in for brunch and so glad we did. Great service, I wish I could remember our servers name! Nevertheless, he was attentive and genuinely friendly. I had an elk sausage hash that was so balanced. Lots of flavors going on there and it all came together beautifully. My wife had the traditional Eggs Benedict. Thick, hand-cut ham that wasn't too salty. She loved it. We both absolutely loved the breakfast potatoes. Like I think they're best I've ever had. Next time we're in Bend we'll be stopping by for dinner and cocktails.
We ate breakfast here 1,5 weeks ago (veg. breakfast sandwich & elk morning hash bowl) and we’re still talking about it. In our 2,5 week roadtrip this breakfast was the best food we had—even counting lunch/dinner. Amazing coffee. Very serene and quiet ambience. Kind, friendly staff the complemented the quiet atmosphere. Highly recommend. That aioli… 🥵🙏
09/05/25 1st time here. Met grandkids for late dinner. Ended up grazing the appetizers & cocktails for about 3 hours. Exceptional. Highlights: - Charcuterie Board might be best ever! - Elk Sliders were incredibly delicious! (had to have 3 orders 😉) Service was impeccable over the entire 3 hours, especially Cody. Highly recommended!!
My family had breakfast here and we loved it. It was quiet and the atmosphere is very relaxing. The waiters are very professional and kind. Thank you
We went in for drinks at the bar. We did end up getting the smoked cheeze-its, which were very tasty! The craft cocktails were thoughtful and delicious - great balance and created with care. The whole staff were friendly and attentive, and our bartender Kyle took excellent care of us. We are out of towners but will definitely be back when we are in Bend. Highly recommend!
Came here for a nice dinner yesterday. The food was excellent and our server was top notch! The atmosphere was really nice even though there wasn't a ton of people at the restaurant. The price did feel a little high...but that's not atypical for downtown Bend at the moment. However, there are some cheaper options on the menu which is always nice for people looking for good food but not ready to break the bank. I wouldn't hesitate to come back to eat here again!!
What an amazing experience! Went to Roam during a celebratory weekend and the staff was so kind to us! They wrote us a card and gave us roses! We had such a wonderful time. The food, drinks, and desserts were amazing as well. I absolutely recommend saving room for a creme brulee.
09/15/25 First time here. Stumbled across this eatery with grandkids, looking for something without a long wait. Great karma!! We basically grazed the appetizers and cocktails. One of the best Charcuterie Boards ever! Especially loved the Marinated Mustard Seeds, which we'd never seen before...a must-try. The Olive bowl was also quite good, with an assortment of Kalamata and green, in a tasty (garlic?) oil. Even the Honey Butter Rolls were exceptional. I also actually quite liked the Percorino Truffle Fries, and I don't generally like truffle-anything. The consensus *killer* app of the night was Elk Sliders. We ended up ordering 3 plates of 2 each. Never seen an Elk Slider before, but these were so good we almost fought over them. ;<) All the while, Cody was exceptionally helpful, pleasant, and patient with us over the 3+ hours we were there, We'll definitely return on next trip to Bend. Highly recommended!!!
Had a delightful experience at happy hour with a group of 5. Everyone loved their drink- very creative and well balanced drinks that we would love to go back for. The happy hour menu is fabulous- Wagyu sliders, awesome dungenous crab fondue and fantastic Brussels sprouts. Highly recommended!
While part of a hotel, not a bad meal option when downtown. We came for breakfast and enjoyed it. The French toast was sweet but a little dry, and the cappuccino was mostly just alright. However, the breakfast burrito with veggie sausage was amazing. Even if you're not a vegetarian, this is a great combination of flavors and worth trying. They serve it with salsa and sour cream but it's delicious even without.
We looked at a few other options before choosing this one and I am glad we did. I loved the elk sausage with eggs .It was tasty and filling. There is a good selection of omelettes as well and they are tasty. The one with sundried tomatoes was excellent. Pancakes were nice and fluffy. Brandon did an excellent job with the service and was very helpful and attentive during our visit. All in all the family was very happy including my small dog. They let the dogs in the patio area but not the indoor space, which is understandable. We plan to swing by again during our next visit to Bend. Great place to eat!
Excellent food. Highly suggest the burger with truffle fries for lunch! Excellent Eggs Benedict too! Only reason for the 1 star off is that after a 55 min wait for table, it was another 40 mins for the food to arrive. Will update rating if service improves on next visit!! Our server was great! Very cheery and professional!!
The food was good and the service was great! It definitely has a loud bar feel. The signature burger was a bit disappointing, my son said In N Out is better. The smash burger appetizer was delicious as well as the truffle fries. The New York strip was cooked perfectly and so good. The brussel sprouts appetizer was very flavorful. I'm kind of a creme brulee snob so was excited to try the creme brulee flight. The 4 we tried were very tasty but the brulee was very thick and not as light and creamy as I would expect. But the different flavors were really fun to try. Our server Lucas was awesome! Definitely worth a visit. I would come back! Almost forgot, the Gin and Tonic was amazing! Ohhhhhh forgot to mention the Cheezit Marconi almond appetizer was really really tasty. This was the first night of their new menu so I think its going to be great!
Gluten free/ vegan friendly!! Had a nice dinner out with a friend. We made a reservation 5 days ahead to make sure we could get a table Their menu was very very GF friendly. They are have a fun cocktail list but it was much smaller than we thought it would be considering we heard they were the go to place for cocktails. *Dishes we tried were delicious! *Service was ok.... not great really slow and they seemed a bit understaffed. The people were nice just very very slow. *Bathroom situation was a bit odd... you have to leave the restaurant go into the hotel and then down an elevator to another floor and around a corner to the bathroom. If your dinning with children it's a trick. Overall would definitely go back again.
We stumbled to this place after reservations for brunch fell through. Thank god for ROAM because it was so so good. The service was amazing and the options in food were really great. They also had a pear mimosa that was pretty GREAT! Definitely give this place a try!
Roam is a Hotel bistro/bar serving rustic tasty dishes in an elegant setting. I ordered the Elk sausage scramble for breakfast, it was light on the pallet and filling. The peppers were very forward and I believe the potatoes overpowered the taste of the elk. Hence no 5 stars on the food. Overall solid breakfast or brunch place for a morning cocktail.
ROAM, located inside The Oxford Hotel in Bend is a great place for food or drink! We stopped in for a cocktail before our show at The Tower Theater and it was perfect. We did not try the food but from what we saw, and heard, the food looked (and tasted) terrific! ROAM, a great place to start, or end an evening, with service to match!
I came during happy hour but just needed a quick bite. The Cesar salad was basic. The Brussels sprouts were AMAZING!!! So much flavor! I would highly recommend them. I would have skipped the salad and only ate the Brussels they were that good.
Good: 5 stars for the bar, 2 for the food in restaurant. They have the best expresso martini in Bend!! Kyle makes a bourbon one that's fantastic! Just ask for the "Kim Bourbon expresso drink" and tell them I sent you! This place is good to pop in for drinks. Good wine pours!
Food (dinner) good. Great mixed drinks. Dessert funky and not as advertised. Great service. Table by entrance and frequently blasted by cold air.
The food was great , the service wasn't so good. The waitresses just kinda didnt care we were there. She never checked back on us, and she didnt seem to care. But the food was good and that helped save the visit
The food tasted good. However the prices seem a bit much we ordered a burger and Bolognese the pasta didn’t taste much like Bolognese had no vegetables on it and very little meat for costing 27 dollars also the portion was small we like the burger it tasted good and we would recommend that. Good burger, bad bolognese, drinks so so!
This service rating only pertains to sadly the first person you encounter - the host. Look we get it. Bend restaurants are understaffed. We are sympathetic to the plight as we live here and have watched many of our favorites close. But when the restaurant is more than half empty don’t tell us you are waiting on reservations and condescend to us when we inquire. Plain rude. Our waiter and the floor staff were great (and honest) about the fact that kitchen was behind. That said, not sure we want to take attitude from an inexperienced and rude hostess. We do like to stay loyal to businesses but hope you train the first point of contact to represent you better.
Came for dinner on a Friday night. Great service and friendly staff. The brussels sprout appetizer and cocktails were both decent, wish we had stopped there. This restaurant is *not* for vegetarians. I ordered the cauliflower steak entree and my boyfriend ordered the buffalo burger. He said the burger was okay, fries were most definitely from the freezer. My cauliflower steak was unseasoned and room temperature, paired with completely raw oyster mushrooms and about a teaspoon of vegetable purée. It was dry and bland and none of the vegetables were cooked properly. “High end” restaurants never seem to know how to prepare vegetables.. To top that off with a clear view of a flat screen tv playing a basketball game, it was very difficult to justify a $25 vegetable entree. Again, service was great and wait staff were very attentive and friendly so I will give 2 stars for that. Please step it up with vegetarian entrees and dishes (even the salads looked mediocre), Bend does not need another steak house or more pub food. The breakfast menu looks enticing so I may give them another try!
Ok food, lesser value. I am hoping the cooks were having an off day, the food was bland, we ordered sprouts appetizer, wagyu bolognese, burger w/truffle fries and a crème brûlée + 2 adult beverages. Brussels sprouts felt unevenly cooked. Playing was thrown together half of them were soggy while the other burnt. I expressed I did not like them server said oh And walked away, we just laughed. Bolognese had what I would assume 1oz of Wagyu? The pasta was good and the rest of the dish was fine… not great just fine. The burger was dry it wasn’t the meat it was the bread. The fries were under seasoned and over drenched with the truffle oil, the crème brûlée was out biggest disappointment. Such a tiny serving for the cost… we joked and said how we could’ve gotten the Costco pack for the same price. Picture to show… We love the neighboring restaurants and we thought we give this one a try. Not impressed, won’t recommend. Being attached to the hotel makes sense how they stay in business. Sorry Roam. Read the reviews and may return for breakfast but not sure…
So went here for highly rated food. Lackluster at best. Tried tomato at the bar told I had to have my Id scanned to sit there, weird, but okay. Then another person comes in, sits at bar, no ID scan, not even asked or brought up. So already, feel weird. Order my $20 standard breakfast, Two eggs, potatoes and bacon. Eggs were good, bacon was cooked well, but LORDY! They are trying to save a buck by literally giving me a half potato forced deep fried and scattered around to look even more non appetizing. Bloody Mary was very good but $15. Save your money and get something else, lots of other good breakfast spots in town. Lastly, is was dead, 5 people working, all hanging out in the back.
Service and atmosphere were great. Unfortunately, the food was not. The short rib grilled cheese was barely toasted and flavors were not balanced because the pear was chunks rather than slices. The soup that came with it was cold. The bolognese tasted like a can of chef boyardee. The chicken strips were straight from a freezer and dry. The cheese on the truffle fries wasn’t melted. The focaccia tasted old. The burger was probably the best item we ordered and it was cooked as requested. The overall quality was really lacking and we will never be back.
My son and daughter in-law were treating me to brunch here. Service was EXTREMELY slow, and I would say they were at maybe 10% capacity. It took 45 minutes to get food, and it was cold. When the order finally came in (our app was delivered with the meal), they didn't have my order. Took about 15 minutes to get my order, which I had asked to make TO GO because my kids had to get back to Portland. Well, that didn't happen, and had to wait another 10 minutes to get it boxed up. Daughter in-law's Eggs Benedict had untoasted English muffin. Son's toast was overtoasted and dry, and we had to ask for butter. My to-go order included gravy, which was supposed to be bacon gravy, but tasted like onion powder exclusively and lacked salt. I will say that I absolutely LOVED the spanish coffee though. Almost was enough to leave a 2-star review.
As a local, I will never recommend coming here. The food is so mediocre and very expensive for what you get. I used to come here often but they just changed the menu to increase prices and limit options. I paid almost $30 for eggs, bacon, soggy potatoes and avocado. When I complained to multiple staff members, here and in the Oxford, it seemed I wasn’t the first. I was told to leave a review because, “it’s the only way anything gets done” …so here it is: don’t come here, there’s many better options.
I want to start this review by saying we have been here before and always enjoyed our experience. The waiters have always been great and have kept us coming back. We came in on a Sunday morning (I get it, it’s probably busy) and asked to sit outside. We were promptly seated and told that our server “Anna” would be right with us. Unfortunately, that’s where the story ends. We received no service whatsoever. There was never a “hello” or an “I’ll be right with you”. Despite our attempts to flag down the server working the table next to us, we sat for nearly 20 minutes. At a certain point, it became clear that we were just being ignored, so we left. I get that summer days can be busy for restaurants in Central Oregon, but this just felt so unprofessional. Like I said, we have been before and enjoyed our food and our service from all of the guys that work here. Not sure what happened to all of that staff, but maybe we’ll give it some time and update this review on our next attempt.
