I have passed by here so many times on my way to other places, and I finally decided to try it because lately I’ve been visiting places that don’t have a lot of heavy promotion or gimmicks. Nina is a lovely woman who always asks what I want, and helps when I can’t decide. Everything she cooks is made with love, and you are served by Nina herself as she is the only worker there. I ordered the paratha plate and it was so deliciously buttery. Everything was perfectly spiced from the chicken to the lentils, and she cooked the eggs the way that I requested. There as also a small side of oatmeal to go with my meal. The price may seem steep to some people, but I was born and raised and in the east bay so I can understand how hard it is to keep a business to stay here so I don’t mind. Besides— the actual price you pay is for the kind service and food that is made with love. I was raised by my grandparents and the feeling I get when I’m at Nina’s cafe makes me feel like they’re still alive and taking care of me like they used to do. You can tell she prepares everything she makes with love and it’s something she’s passionate about. I will keep returning! Edit: The homemade chai is amazing too!!!

Such a precious treasure I happened to stumble upon today. I had an avocado and cheese sandwich that was delicious with homemade chai. Nina is the sweetest auntie, she gave a free dessert to try. I felt so welcomed here.

Great small cafe with homey atmosphere. Has the typical cafe fair( BEST HOMEMADE CHAI TEA! coffee, tea, sandwiches, great breakfast pastries, snacks etc) and the owner's own ethnic south east Asian(Bangladesh) dishes. Nina is amazing and very hospitable!

AMAZING years old local cafe! ☕️ Nina the very nice and the vibe in the cafe is cozy and homey ☺️ The cafe is small and the indoor seating is limited, but it is also quiet. The mocha is delicious; not too sweet but with strong flavor and scent! Highly recommended for people who loves decent coffee and brunch to come over and hang out with friends 🤎 *The picture is showing my iaido sensei, senpai, and Nina!

The "currito" was incredible! Never had curry with avocado before. It was a "where has this been all my life" moment. Wonderful service, cozy atmosphere AND free Wi-Fi. Even ordered some rice and turkey for my puppy.

I could not say enough good things about Nina's. This place was an amazing experience. I got the curry burrito and it really made question the spice I could handle but it was sooo good. And Nina was the nicest diner owner I've met. My wife and I felt right at home!

I was looking for a place to land while waiting for someone in the area, and am so happy I same across Nina's Cafe! I think the owner is Nina, and she was just lovely. She helped me decide what to eat and gave me a helping of her own homemade food. I felt like I was in the environment of family and as someone who has no close family near it recharged my heart. The samosas were great and I look forward to coming back!

The chai is so good here!! I also got the croissant with egg, cheese, and avocado (spicy) and it was delicious!! Highly recommend. My friend got the burrito and said it was similarly very good. They had really good wifi too and it was a great place to work and study, will def be coming back! Nina is the nicest too fr

Delicious food and a lovely owner who makes each interaction feel personal, like you're over at her house for a meal! I stopped in for lunch and because I was looking for a cafe to do some work. I was amazed at the selection Nina offered, and settled on some homemade chai and lentil soup (a famous recipe apparently!) The soup was hot and extremely flavorful and the chai was perfect for a chillier winter day. The wifi in the cafe is strong and it was a welcoming spot to work for a few hours. I also asked Nina for some of her pastries to take to a potluck, and she was beyond accommodating. She gave me an assortment of veggie and chicken savory rolls and samosas along with special dips for each, and a box for easy transport and serving (you can tell she's a seasoned caterer). The food disappeared in minutes at my Cal Sailing potluck, a testament to her delicious cooking. I can't wait to go back!

LOVED IT!! Wide variety of American and SE Asian cuisine. Home made Chai, big breakfast burrito, coffee, curry. Her soups are a whole meal! Everything a cafe should be. Eat inside or outside, Berkeley style. Fresh Savory & Sweet Pastry Always..

Nina's, a warm and comfy cafe nestled in the block-long ActivSpace building in West Berkeley, is a fine place to visit for snacks and full-out meals served with Bangladesh relish by Nina herself. Mainstay menu items include Breakfast Burritos, Curry, Soup, Salads, Tasty Sandwiches, and Savory Sweet Pastries. Drinks include Homemade Chai, Smoothies, and Espresso. The art-covered walls and crafted wooden furniture provide an inviting gathering spot — with additional seating outdoors on sunny days.

I got breakfast here while I waited for a haircut next door. Like others have mentioned, Nina is the sweetest. It's like going to your grandma's for a meal. The breakfast burrito was delicious and came with avocado which is a nice touch. I'm happy I found this cafe.

Delicious Dal soup paired with a bagel and cream cheese made a delightful light lunch - also always welcome is homemade chai made custom to the taste and strength you order. I love small restaurants like this that feel homey-casual.

I just stopped for coffee only and a quiet place to do some work for an hour. The place was cute and homey, but empty, which puzzled me until I paid $6 for bad coffee. I was buying my seat, but I probably won’t come back for much longer.

I have been a regular customer at Nina’s Café for quite some time and always found Nina to be a sweet and kind individual. However, during one visit, a conversation about my background changed everything. When I shared that I was from Israel, her demeanor shifted noticeably. While I didn’t expect her to treat me any differently, what happened next was shocking. As I ate my meal, I discovered a large piece of glass in my food. I cannot say for certain how it got there, but the circumstances left me feeling deeply unsettled. This experience has shaken my trust in the establishment. I believe in treating all customers with dignity and respect, regardless of their background. I can no longer recommend Nina’s Café and encourage others to be cautious.
