The Upper Deck Birmingham Reviews
Great place to go out and enjoy time with your friends with karaoke night, good food and drinks. Watch the games on TV and play pool.
One of the best spots in Birmingham Alabama. You can play pool 🎱, they have great drinks, karaoke, great food, security in effect, real good vibe.
If you like the vibe of a club/bar with pool tables and filled with cigarettes smoke where you can karaoke go and check them out located in off of valley ave in Homewood.
New Ownership brings a different crowd. It worked for me. Anything is possible with their wide range of karaoke and no night is the same. Bartenders make great drinks. Get some wings and okra and you won’t be disappointed. If you hookah, grab one of those too. There are regulars that welcome you to the party. Be the Star of the night.
I had a great time while here. My only regret is I never got a chance to order any food. I kept telling myself I wasn't that hungry and I'll probably eat later. Well, I didn't eat later. And those burgers looked GOOD.
I was out celebrating my birthday and I came to check this place out for the first time. Not only that, it was my first time singing some karaoke in front of a different group of audience. But they were all nice and encouraging. There were quite a few good singers keeping the party going. I didn't have any problems at all too. Was feeling good vibes while I was there. I will definitely make plans in the future to come back and chill.
Fabulous first time experience! All 4 or 5 pool tables stayed full so you know the vibe was laid back! It was a mixed crowd with good music. Karaoke was booming and the drinks were as strong as the security looked!
The security is very strict on the rules (as they should) to keep trouble out or to a minimum. The bartenders are generous with the drinks 😉. There's a membership fee of $2 plus entry fee of $5 and then $5 upon entry every day after that. It has 3 or 4 pool tables. On Fridays and Saturdays it's karaoke so it's fun to hear intoxicated people (that think they can sign) try to sign. Diversified age group from early 20s to late 50s, as for race demographics its 95% black and 5% white. Gender diversity is about 55% male, 30% female, 15% butch 😂😂😂 HONESTLY but everyone is cool; even though some of the butch get the attention of some of the females, that's today's climate universally. The older gents mainly go for the atmosphere, drinks and shoot pool. That's me. But all in all, I'd have to give it 5 stars. I've been approximately 7 or 8 times and never had a problem with patrons or staff, only witnessed 1 incident in which the police removed an intoxicated young lady. So if you like a scene like that definitely visit and see for yourself. Be cool. 👌🏽👍🏽
I've been going here for over 6yrs. I luv this place. This is one spot I will always come to. My 2nd home, lol. The employees are GREAT!!! The drinks are on point, thank you my B*&$@. (inside talk). The beautiful DJ Cream plays what you ask for. Security takes care of you! Never had any issues here.
Interesting late night spot, not your place, if you're looking for upscale. But if you're looking for a fun hype vibe this is it. I had a good time?
What a fun karaoke experience. I recommend you come early for parking early for parking, There's a lot of stairs with an incline. The security is present, and ID is required. It's a nice late night spot.
We came to AL for memorial weekend and found this place by google search. It was super chill and laid back. The bartender was very helpful and the crowd was easy going. We are used to drinks being a bit stronger at home, but I'd take this spot just because of the drama free, fun atmosphere. I even beat hubby in a game of pool! 😊
Other than them not being able to accommodate me for my event, I don’t have any negative feedback. I would just make a suggestion for them to be more open to people’s availability when they are trying to reserve a section because it is hard to do it during the week when you have a 9-5 Monday-Friday. I have came here before and seen people have private sections for their birthdays during club hours, so that should be allowed for everyone if they are paying for a section.
The service was good, but I think the food and the bar is over priced. You can't charge all that money for drinks and serve them in bebop cups. Nachos is horrible. Eliminate that chili sauce on the nachos. Get better security, because you're brewing for something to happen. I wanna return, but I want a better experience.
In the past this bar was a bit more diverse in the types of patrons it had. On the evening I visited me and my girlfriend were quite the minority being the only Caucasians in the joint. But we still braved our way up on that kareoke stage and sang our hearts out to at least make the 5$ cover and $16 drink order worth it. To top off the night someone hit our car in the parking lot leaving a huge scratch and didn't even check up but sped away. We won't be returning to this spot and are happy we made it out alive.
Unimpressed first time visitor. Don’t look at any menu info online Bc the menu they currently offered is bare minimum. It’s a one page one side large font menu. The only thing I felt safe to order was fries. And the other person ordered these shrimp things. The fries were not even a full basket Bc they were in the same one as the shrimp.Even though they don’t have these items listed as a plate or combo. I’m think what makes them think I was sharing food with the person I’m playing pool with??? This is definitely not a place I’d got to for “food AND fun”. The pool tables we’re decent. You must be prepared to buy your own music from the music player. If not be prepared to just hear their own country music. Whoever owns it making a killing off their patrons. Won’t be back unless I’m good and full. Bottom line eat before coming to this place.
Drove down and place wasn't even open, weird.
OK, here’s my review. 1.) When we first got there, we got overcharged for entry and they were gonna close 10 minutes after we get there.(Mind you the website said it would close at 4 o’clock. They closed at three.) 2.) when we got there, I went to the bar had to Big the server for their attention just to ask hey do y’all have a menu for food just for him to say the bar close in a dry tone as if he didn’t care in the world about me existing. 3.) The table we set at was disgusting. Nobody offered to clean it. Nobody attempted. I had to go get my own napkins to clean my own table. 4.) They don’t even have a menu for drinks. I’m just gonna leave it at that. 5.) The music is so loud that you can’t even think straight. 6.) The drink was so nasty.(Filled with alcohol she didn’t even attempt to make it taste good) 7.) Bartenders have the nastiest attitude in the world. They rather not be there a.k.a. 8. And the bald Head stud Rush us out(Remind you, they were supposed to close at four, but they closed at three) 9.) Red flag number #3000 they have the staff Singing karaoke, instead of the customers.(Why would you advertise for karaoke if the workers were just gonna sing my head off. 10. The security have ski mask red flag #4000.
