Bus Stop Cafe Bloomfield Reviews
Friendly service and good food. French onion soup was great. Nice wraps
what’s not to love. reliable, homey, quaint, efficient, a diner without the meanness. refined without the stuffiness. no tik tok flimsy calories. only giving bistro realness. i’d love to rent this place out for my birthday but they have such a neighborhood ethic they don’t do private rentals that how legit bus stop is. this place is an institution and shines like a beacon on a hill in a sea of trash franchises and copy paste jeff bezos bullshit. bus stop never change.
Warm and friendly neighborhood spot. Food is yummy and the waitstaff is just wonderful. Atmosphere is très Parisian for the locals - the kind of place that actually knows your name!
My crew and I are in town every few months for work. Our usual breakfast spot, Hector's, closed a couple of months ago. We tried every diner and cafe in walking distance a few times each to pick our next spot, and Bus Stop was the clear favorite. Everything you want out of a diner and nothing you don't. The food is always good. The atmosphere was a bonus - large windows with a lot of natural light. Clean bathrooms. The waitstaff is always pleasant and fun. Good coffee too (and it always magically refills). Their prices are also reasonable. We are used to ~$400 breakfast bills at other places for our crew of 10 - 12 guys, and we haven't broken $300 here. Cheaper than the rest, better than the rest, friendlier than the rest! - we are glad to have found this place!!!
Every Morning when I come for breakfast I am treated with the greatest hospitality and service. I am always treated with respect and they always compliment me on my cologne and they know when I am coming in. I feel like home evry time. I usually get the egg BLT or the Waffles and sausage which by the way are the best. Bus Stop Cafe will always have a customer in me and I let others know as well.
Came for the sidewalk view on a suspiciously summery October day and wasn't expecting much, but everything exceeded expectations! The hostess was unpretentious and seated us right away, service was fast and friendly despite the crowds, and the food itself was actually really great! The fruit on the waffle was a generous portion and loved that they used yogurt and honey as toppings to make it healthy. The bagel lox with everything was also excellent. High quality, fresh ingredients in everything! Total lack of gentrified snobbiness that sometimes comes with the area of town. The prices are great and they welcome diverse crowds. The management is doing something right!
I like the outdoor seating here! Was really nice to visit earlier in the morning on Sunday when it wasn't too busy. They have tables indoors and outdoors. I got an iced latte and the avocado toast with over easy eggs. Was so delicious really great flavor! Like it says in the name, it's also really close to the bus stop. Great local find!
My cousins and I absolutely loved this spot! Wonderful, cozy vibe eating outside, incredible service from the kind staff (they did not hesitate to rearrange tables so that we could all sit together), and delicious food/drinks (get the mozzarella sticks!). It was the perfect spot to wind down after a long work day! We will definitely be back :)
I love Bus Stop Cafe for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have an extensive menu with delicious items for any time of day. It is a bit more expensive than a regular diner, but the food is good and the staff are excellent. They have wonderful seating indoors and outdoors. I highly recommend if you are in the area!
COME HERE ✨ you won’t regret it. The menu is super affordable & my food was delicious. I got the BLT & shared a sangria with my friend. We were quickly seated outside (which can be rare in the west village) and had the perfect people watching spot. The inside of the restaurant is cozy & a little swanky making for a nice date spot.
I usually don’t rate 5 stars. Last week during our trip to NYC this was the best lunch ever. Very European well cooked (like at home) and balanced healthy lunch. I ordered the lunch special: yankee bean soup and a salad, non-alcoholic drink included. It was delicious. The Tuna sandwich, chicken sandwich and the onion soup also excellent. The tiramisu was next level, like in Italy. The bistro atmosphere really nice. Great service, the waiters and the manager very friendly. If again in NY, will definitely stop by.
Really enjoyed the food and the service here! I can definitely recommend this restaurant. It has a very nice atmosphere surrounded by the lovely streets of west village. Food was delicious and there’s plenty of choice. Our waiter was very friendly and welcoming. Thanks for accommodating a nice evening!
Bus Stop Cafe is a cozy West Village spot with solid brunch options and a welcoming vibe. We had the Eggs Benedict and the Energy Omelette—both hit the mark. The Benedict came with perfectly poached eggs and creamy hollandaise, while the omelette was packed with protein and veggies, making it a satisfying, lighter choice. Friendly service and a laid-back atmosphere rounded out a great brunch experience.
We really enjoyed our visit to the Bus Stop Cafe on our trip to NYC! It is in a great location, and the staff and food were both wonderful. I had the kale salad and my husband had the Reuben sandwich, and both were amazing. This was a great lunch stop, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal in the area! It was well worth the visit.
An authentic spot with a unique energy! My husband took me to this diner in Chelsea, the first restaurant he visited when he moved to New York 15 years ago. I didn’t know what to expect, but the experience exceeded my expectations in many ways. The menu is traditional, but you can tell everything is homemade, which is a big plus. The place is super cute, with perfect photo-worthy spots that make you feel like you’re inside an Edward Hopper painting. The staff is incredibly attentive. It’s clear that everyone is aware of the fast-paced nature of the diner, but they remain cordial and efficient. I was really impressed by how, even though some were busy with orders, everyone helped each other to ensure guests were comfortable, like when they offered to store our coats and luggage so we wouldn’t be uncomfortable at our table. The atmosphere had this blend of British and New York style, which I loved. The staff is very fast when they take orders and provide service. Thry must have lots of regulars. The coffee was delicious, and all the dishes looked amazing. What really surprised me was how well they manage the space, despite being a small place with many tables and high turnover. The kitchen offers a wide variety of dishes and It’s clear that the kitchen team there can cook also really fast, which makes the experience even more valuable. I definitely want to return with my friends whenever I have a chance. Good prices, welcoming atmosphere, and delicious food. Highly recommend!
I drive from the east side multiple times a week for my bus stop cafe breakfast. It is truly my favorite place; quality clean food, cozy and affordable. Carolina (not sure spelling) and Natalie (weekend host) always are so sweet to me. Thank you for being so welcoming!! If you couldn’t tell by the photos - I am a creature of habit
The Bus Stop is a West Village treasure. Try to grab a booth seat by the window for prime people-watching—you’ll get a front-row view of the many designer dogs. This spot has a wholehearted energy that makes it perfect for a relaxed brunch. Plus, where else in the West Village can you get a to-go iced coffee for just $3.15? It’s a rare find. Taylor Swift fans will especially appreciate the lore that this charming café might have inspired her lyric, “I thought I saw you at the Bus Stop... I didn’t though.” The Bus Stop won’t disappoint.
The omelet was good - we gave it a 8/10. We ordered it medium/well(which was pretty weird when you order online without instructions on what that means.) The home fries were not seasoned although they came well cooked - giving them a 6/10 The French toast i will give it a 7.2/10. Perfectly cooked, not too sweet or dry. The side of eggs was kind of a disappointment considering i ordered (4) scrambled but it felt like it was less. The turkey sausage was perfect, no complaints there. 9/10. The blueberry pancakes i will give them 6.5/10. it was difficult to understand what they meant by medium/well done etc .. i got it medium and it came out soggy with the batter still in the middle. Something to keep in mind. OJ & fruits were traditional. Nothing to be rated here, very fresh! For us placing an order and 20min later getting it delivered was what gave us a great experience with customer service. the guy literally still had his apron on when he arrived to our front door. Great experience.
We dropped by this place from one of our Saturday morning walks. Their waffle is a must-try and it was served really fresh. The cafe is located in a very good spot too which gives you a sense of some history around the area back in the days. If not for the average service, I would have given this cafe a 5-star.
Cute little place on a charming corner (literally a bus stop) that’s been around forever. I used to go here years ago and just came back for the first time in perhaps 15 years or more. I’ve only ever had breakfast here. The hardworking staff keeps the place buzzing, cheerful and welcoming service. My omelette was delicious and my guests all had corned beef hash, that got mixed reviews. I’ll give it another try one day soon.
I came here 2 weeks ago midweek for breakfast and loved it. The place is so cozy, same as when I used to come here 20+ years ago and it was really nice to come back here. Excellent omelette with potatoes and coffee and reasonably priced. This morning I was fancying eggs benedicts, I was thinking of going to Tartine as the reviews for that dish are very good, but as I love Bus Stop better as a place I decided to come here for brunch. I think my eggs benedicts were some of the worst I tried in my life! The English muffin was spongy and soggy as it had been warmed up in the microwave, the eggs were way too raw and the sauce on top was a totally flavorless yellow creamy something. Eggs, breakfast potatoes, coffee and mimosa were $33 before tip. Way too expensive for what I ate. I was really disappointed, and now I know that I will go back only for their regular omelettes. I give 3 stars instead of 1 for the breakfast I had two weeks ago.
