Had excellent food here! Had the machaca platter which came with rice, beans and 4 corn tortillas. Your choice of either corn or flour. They have a small salsa bar with pico de gallo, red sauce, green sauce and pickled carrots. The price was reasonable and the food plentiful! Everything was delicious! I can see why there was a line waiting to order. Food came out fast and hot. Definitely one of the top Mexican food places I've eaten! They are cash only

Awesome street tacos. I thought they were a bit expensive until I received my order. These things are packed full of meat. Super tasty and authentic, highly recommend. Things to know about this place: cash only and no restroom.

The Anza-Borrego Desert is an awesome place. But, before one heads out to check you the blooming cactus 🌵 it’s important to have good breakfast. Los Jilbertos Taco Shop has an awesome choices. The carne asada burrito and the carnitas was delicious. This a good place to get great meals. Everything we order was perfect . We had many requests due to food restrictions and the staff was fantastic in modifying some of our orders. I am grateful to all the staff at the shop they were patient and kind. Next time you find your self in the area be sure to stop in at Los Jilbertos Taco Shop.

Solid Mexican food in Borrego. Good salsa bar. California burrito was good, wish it had sour cream and more fries. But otherwise tasty. Breakfast burrito was great, too. Family business.

Lovely and friendly staff. Al pastor tacos was great. We also got fish tacos which was also crispy and delicious. We are always appreciative when the taco shop has pickled carrots and a salsa bar. It was so good we got an Al pastor burrito to go !

Best carnitas for a hundred miles. You can drive by it and never see it, it blends in. Look for the Pele wanna-be, sombrero wearing, pepper cabesa on the sign. I won't look anywhere else for quality food when I'm in the area again.

Everything required to be a perfect burrito shop. They have a veggie burrito for vegetarians but that can be made vegan by asking for no cheese. Add potato and you’ve got a wonderful burrito. They have a great little salsa bar with fresh pico. And the tortillas are fresh and delicious! The burritos are also huge. Would definitely go back, wish it was closer. Note cash only but there’s an atm at the convenience store next door.

Typical southern California taco shop. We had a Carne Asada burrito, rolled tacos and super nachos. It was all good and the portions were large. Some dude came in without a mask and they asked him to leave. Good job!

Taco salad with shredded chicken and a large jamaica. Delicious and reasonable. Great salsas and they offer the pickled carrots, onions, jalapenos. The place was jumping at lunch time and the phone rang continuously. Somehow they managed to put out a good deal of food in a reasonable time. Next time - their burritos!

I do not think that the fish taco plate is be topped by another choice. One of the other guest recommend the hard or soft beef taco plate. And yet another frequent guest told me laster that the Al Pastor Plate was their preferred item.

The Nak is said to have lettuce, guac, fries beans and carne asada. Couldn't really tell there was lettuce though. The burrito was huge but the taste was nothing special. It's good for a quick fix in the area. Their horchata was pretty good. Service Is friendly and fast! It was quiet on a Sunday night.
