Sky Shed Bozeman Reviews
Menu just changed again going into new year of 2026. As locals we love bringing out of town visitors to visit the Sky Shed. Catching the sunset is especially beautiful. The views of Bozeman and Gallatin Valley are fabulous.
I proposed to my girl here and everything was perfect. The staff went out of their way to make the occasion special. Incredible view and atmosphere. The food was also excellent. The manager came out and congratulated us and couldn’t have been any nicer. Incredible experience!
Salute to Chef Jean’Claude on hands down the best steak in Bozeman. Our server Bri made my entire family feel so welcome. Winter chalet experience is a must!
Very cozy and nice bar with a beautiful view to the mountains of Montana. A must to go spot in Bozeman. Drinks were good. We got the Gold Rush, a very citrusy and refreshing bourbon drink, and the Branding Iron which is your regular old fashion bourbon. We order the Disco Fries to eat and the flavor was amazing. It’s a big dish and plenty to share with another person. Definitely, I recommend this place at sunset so you can enjoy the majestic views sipping a good drink!
This is THE preeminent rooftop bar (and restaurant) in Bozeman. I have been to the excellent Marriott AC and the dive Crystal (which I love), but Sky Shed is the quintessential rooftop with a classy bar, nice outdoor seating and a lounging pool for the guests. Food is great, as is the service (Robert) rules! VictorB
The most beautiful rooftop views in Bozeman. The perfect spot to unwind and take in the views while enjoying a glass of wine or craft cocktail. For snacks, the chicken skewers are a delicious snack, but if you’re feeling naughty… go for the fries. They’e huge, and the little crispy garlic bits in this dish are on point. Cheers y’all!
We dined in the the Snow shed here and it was an experience of a life time. The food was 10/10 but our server Rocky made the entire night. His vibes put everyone in a great mood. Rocky is one of those people that should be protected at all costs because he makes the world a better place. Rocky, please never change. Rocky = Unicorn
Awesome food and cocktails. Views of mountains. Sky Shed is a phenomenal place to unwind and grab a few drinks and dinner or snacks (on the rooftop of the Kimpton Armory hotel, a must stay). Loving the disco lemonade. The lettuce & herb salad is crisp and refreshing, and the dressing is really well done. So so good! You need to go!
Great cocktails, delicious food and amazing views. Located on the rooftop of the Kimpton Armory hotel Sky Shed is the perfect place for a few drinks or dinner. The disco lemonade is nice a refreshing on a hot day. The lettuce & herb salad was excellent. The kaiju burger was cooked perfectly was big enough for two people. I highly suggest you head to the 9th floor of the Armory and check them out.
I've been a fan of Sky Shed ever since they opened! The venue is incredible -- from the cozy fireplace to the comfortable lounge seating and of course, breathtaking views. I was nervous about the new chef (I loved the old one), but WOW -- his food is phenomenal. We had the dry aged elk meatballs with huckleberry & even the lettuce garnish on the plate was amazing. The steak frites is also a must (you get waffle fries, perfectly seasoned), and I can't recommend the s'mores old-fashioned enough. I don't even like whiskey OR s'mores, but it was totally worth the price. And Sky Shed isn't cheap. BUT it's proof that you get what you pay for.
Amazing place with an amazing view of all Bozeman. Great food and excellent drinks. If the day is warm you can stay outside if not you stay in, you can enjoy the view anywhere you are.
Fantastic spot for a night cap! Their cocktails were beautifully presented and we felt cozy in their lounge section. 10/10 recommend for drinks!
Great view with amazing food and service. They have a really cute outdoor seating and snow globe outside in winter.
We didn’t eat here but it was definitely worth going to have drinks and enjoy the view.
Fantastically fresh downtown spot. Quality service with thoughtful menu and cocktails. Best view in town.
I forgot to get a photo of our fantastic food and drinks, but the view and the staff were phenomenal too! Highly recommend the fries and sliders, and be sure to go out and take in the 360 degree views!
This place has killer views and a really solid wait staff. Great food as well. Hard to beat the overall experience.
Sam, the server at our local rooftop bar, truly stood out not only for his impeccable service but also for his remarkably styled mustache, which added a touch of distinguished charm to his friendly smile. Each interaction with Sam was a delightful experience; he anticipated our needs with an attentive yet unobtrusive presence that made us feel genuinely cared for. His mustache, well-groomed and twisted at the ends in a dapper fashion, seemed to underscore his commitment to excellence in both appearance and service. It was clear that Sam took great pride in his work, ensuring that every guest left happier than when they arrived, all while his mustache added an extra sparkle of personality that made our dining experience uniquely memorable.
A must go location while in Bozeman- the rooftop view is amazing!! Options for sitting indoors or outside (weather permitting). Outside has umbrellas for those sunny days and fireplaces for the chilly days; also and indoors fireplace with seating around it. Small plates of food offerings change often as do the cocktails. Good wine list and liquor choices. You will return often!
I visited here for the first time recently and was blown away! Such a beautiful place, fantastic cocktails, and the service was fantastic. Our bartender was Parvi (sp?) and she was such a joy, had a delightful attitude, and was extremely professional. Would go back again just to see her!
We stopped in for a couple drinks and the bartenders/wait staff were impeccable. Recommended two drinks to us that supersedes anything I’ve had at any other bar in Montana. Our servers name was Jake and he was kind, timely, and personable. We can’t wait to come back!
Views are amazing and the drinks and good were on point. If you come up in a rodeo night you may even get to see fireworks. Overall I highly recommend this spot to have a lovely evening with friends or a romantic date night.
I cannot speak to the food as I did not eat anything other than the fries on the happy hour special which was decent. The view is a 10 out of 10 with the snow in the mountains. The outdoor fire places makes it a cool date spot year round. The mixed drinks were also fantastic.
Dani makes an incredible cocktail and is great at banter and conversation. The entire team at Sky Shed killed it while I was here.
This is a place I am hosting an event at and I came in person to check it out because the reviews are all over the place. The food and drinks are great. The service was good and place is clean. And the VIEWS!!!! This is on top of a nice hotel and they only serve drinks and some appetizers. It is pricey but its a nice hotel and has nice views. You get what you pay for in my book. I can't wait to come back.
Fave spot in town! The NEW menu is phenomenal!!!! From the disco fries to the grilled cheese and brisket chili - just WOW! Went there for the AFC Championship game and they had the sound on throughout the space and patio. So much fun we even had one of the new beer towers! Staff is great and views are spectacular!
This place has the absolute best views in Bozeman with great food and cocktails. They have outdoor firepits, perfect for a ladies night gathering on a nice evening. If you show up at the right time you can catch the most amazing sunset views. The last time we dined we found out they serve brunch on weekends now too, so we'll definitely be there!
My family and I celebrated my Retirement in a private igloo at The Sky Shed and it could not have been more perfect. The service was phenomenal with just enough time between courses. Drinks, from champagne to fancy cocktails, arrived in time for for lots of toasting!🥂 We were cozy, our toddlers were contained and the views were awesome! The food was all delicious and perfectly presented. Kudos to the Chef and our servers!
There was an mix up and we didn't have a server for 25 minutes, but one we got a server, she apologized for the error and was fabulous.
This place is incredible. We stayed at the Armory this weekend and discovered we didn't have to look any farther than the Sky Shed for our morning coffee with amazing views. A delicious brunch. A great, comfortable place to hang out and chill with our friends and family for drinks in the afternoon. We had made our dinner reservations before we arrived in Bozeman knowing everything would be full. I wished I had known, I would have made them at the hotel. The staff at the Sky shed was fantastic. I felt like we were friends with most of them before we left. They treated us very well. I'm bad with names but River was memorable. You made our family good bye brunch very nice. Thank you for accommodating our group. This is a well managed team. They were happy and friendly and incredibly helpful. I believe the manager helped us Saturday night with our Sunday reservations. A great guy! We had a young lady waitress with glasses our first morning that was so fun and interactive with us. The views from this open air sky lounge are incredible. This is our new Go to place in Bozeman when we are in town.
My family and I experienced the Snow Shed a few days ago. I must say it was a wonderful experience. Our server Bri was absolutely a joy. Very kind and friendly. The food was out of this world. The chef Jean’claude, cooked our food to perfection! The steak was the best I’ve ever had. Melted in your mouth like butter. Overall, 20/10 experience. I highly recommend this to anyone.
The place was suggested to me by a person sitting on my plane ride. She was right about everything, the views were fantastic. We sat inside because the patio was full but the views were still great. The service was a little slow so I said something and the manager came over asap and made everything right!!! The food was fantastic, we had the Crab Rangoon mozzarella sticks and the smoked trout dip. Both delicious!! I also had a Lavender Haze drink that I would highly recommend. Once again the views were outstanding!
Beautiful skytop bar with panoramic views of the mountains and a great vantage point for sunsets. The food is decent and the cocktails are tasty. The service is friendly.
Great rooftop bar if you are looking for a bite and a drink. Great views for Bozeman and surroundings.
We came in on Sunday around noon for brunch. We were surprised by how empty it was. We were able to quickly be seated. The views were great and the music was an appropriate volume, so it was a great place to hang out and chat. For how empty it was, I was a little disappointed by the service. The server (Rocky) was amazing, but for how empty it was, it took a long time for our drinks to served, which was frustrating when there was staff obviously just standing around. Similarly, with the food, the poached egg on the benedict was a over-cooked, which is disappointing at the best of times, and kind of inexcusable where there is only 4-5 other tables seated at the restaurant, especially at this price point. My wife had the hang-over burger, which was excellent. All-in-all, the meal and drinks were still good. We will definitely not hesitate to come back, and hope for better service on the next go-round.
Be prepared to spend 16-20 on drinks here. This is on the 9th floor of the Kimpton Armory that you can access through the lobby. It taste good, but it is probably one of the more expensive places in town with the drink and food prices. The view is nice, but probably nicer in the summer time when the outdoor portion is open. Service is very slow, expect to wait a significant amount of time even when there aren’t a ton of people.
Came on a slow week night. Sat outside and waited 45 minutes for service. Someone came over and got us water about 20 minutes in and then no one ever came to take our order. We eventually moved tables and then someone (who had made eye contact with us several times) begrudingly took our drink order. My drink was so bad it was almost undrinkable. Ordered a margarita and it tasted like salt water and tequila. Views were pretty though.
I came here with some co-workers because they recommended the rooftop deck. The hostess seemed to have difficulty trying to find a table ( and even suggested several other places we might go to) but we saw several wide open at 9pm. We got seated but only 10 minutes before the kitchen closed. Half the menu items were out. For ONE drink and a taco plate, it was $50 with a tip. NOT woth it. It wasn't that great! No more jalapeño poppers or steak on the menu. Not the best, not the worst. Next time I visit Bozeman, there's other places to try.
Fantastic views, beautiful venue. That said, service was trash. The bridal party I was with was ignored for the first 15-20 minutes and we were tended to only once. Drinks were not good and overpriced for what they were.
If you’re local save yourself on a very long meal or drink. The views are spectacular, waiters are kind, but the service just takes forever. My husband and I had time to grab a drink downtown and tried it out. We sat at the table 20 min before the waiter came since I went to the bar to order our own drink. Drinks were tasty. I’m just over the 1 hour and 15 min experience for 1 drink. If you have the time go but we will not be back. Open they manage that a little better to really give patrons a good experience aka the waiters get great tips.
This bar which is at the top of the armory hotel has some great views and excellent decor. The drink selection is good although expensive if you want anything besides a beer. Food is overpriced and not worth a cent of you money. The salads are two pieces of lettuce with a spoonfull of dressing for $12 that I can make at home for $4. Service was lacking and we were ignored for 20 min with an empty dining area. When the bill came they add charges for "kitchen service" and can only split a bill 3 ways and we had to get it fixed because it was incorrect. If you want a great spot to chill and have a couple beers this is great but do not come here for food.
Making a decent ceasar salad is a relatively easy task. It really only takes a few ingredients with some simple prep. The salad that sky shed served me was so bad that it has prompted me to write my first ever google review. For starters the salad was presented with whole lettuce hearts unchopped which I guess was an attempt at quirky plating, but in reality just made it hard to eat. As a side effect of the whole chunks of lettuce it would be impossible to wash the lettuce properly before serving. Second, the crotons were somehow soggy and chewy. I’ve had better ceasar salads from airport stands and that isn’t an exaggeration. All of this combined with overpriced beer that was half foam has prompted this1 star review.
I have lived in Bozeman for 25 years and this was worst service/no service I have ever had. We were sat by the hostess and waited for service for 15 min. I talked to the hostess and she then talked to the bartender. Still nothing happened. The only other table in the restaurant sat up and our server was sitting with them the hole time we were waiting. I politely asked her to serve us and she didn’t say anything and walked to the bar. The restaurant was about 20% capacity. Very disappointing for four locals.
Never been here, despite trying. This time we made reservations dated in advance. Then got a phone call at 10:30 the night before saying they had booked a group function so they cancelled our reservation. Unbelievable! Seeing other reviews with this same issue indicates poor management. We found an alternative restaurant which was outstanding. There are lots of good choices in Bozeman, so no need to fight with this one.
This was the worst service I have ever received. We waited over 40 minutes to be seated, which would be fine if they hadn't seated two other groups before us. Once the waitress got us, she tried to bring us to a communal even though we were on the wait list for a table for two. When we pointed this out to her she got annoyed but brought to our table. After giving us our menus the waitress completely ignored us. At least three other groups were seated, giving water, and had their orders taken. No one brought us any water, after nearly 30 minutes of being ignored we just left. You should absolutely avoid this place until the servers are trained in decent customer service. Will never be going back.
Nice atmosphere on the outdoor, rooftop patio. Unfortunately after 30+ minutes to get two drinks that never came, we just got up and left. Pretty awful, as they weren’t that busy. Don’t recommend if you’re in any hurry at all.
I was greeted (barely) by the bartender I think her name is Allie. I was one of three people at the bar it took 5-10 minutes before I was spoken to again. I asked for coffee and she gave me attitude about it because she had to go downstairs even though I was looking at the coffee machine behind the bar. She proceeded to bring coffee in a plastic deli container and when I asked for a refill she said there was no more coffee. Granted I could see the same deli container behind the bar half full of coffee. Definitely one of the worst bartenders I’ve ever dealt with. Definitely felt a little profiled I don’t dress or look like I have a ton of money but I always tip well. She might need to learn a little bit more about customer service. Food is always solid and the other bartenders I’ve encountered there have been nothing but inviting. This girl just showed no love, no smile, not even a thank you for coming in when I left
Prices are astronomical. $21 for a Paloma cocktail that was not even chilled. Meatballs very dry. Sliders were literally all bread. Server was good and very pleasant. Cold atmosphere and loud. No ambience. Staying at hotel and assumed a restaurant would be open for guests all day. I guessed wrong, so we waited half an hour for this restaurant/bar to open. Very disappointing.
*Had a reservation on the patio days ahead for a special occasion. *Got a call 3 hrs before saying they had a party booked on the patio and had to moved us inside. *Got a call on the way downtown and were told we could only be on the wait list for the bar instead. *Got there early, sat at the bar, ordered drinks and food. *Took a sip of our drinks and were told our food was canceled because the party started soon and they had to move us downstairs to a different restaurant in a few min. So we chugged our $16 drinks and PAID OUR BILL. *We have never experienced such an unprofessional situation ever. Our minds are completely blown. In total shock at how they handled local paying customers. We won't be back, EVER. Sam was the host, handling all of the mismanagement chaos with a genuine smile and positive attitude. We felt so bad for him. He deserves a raise. Total disaster.
Super expensive drinks. Ordered a drink at the bar and bartender recommended sunset on patio for view with out drinks, when we walked out the manager come up to us and tells us we cant stand by glass becase another tabel wants to sit there, That didn't have a reservation. Was very rude. If there are reserved tables they should use signs as it is a tarrabel first impression for first time visitors.
