96 West Brenham Reviews
Love the food, great atmosphere. Highly recommend you request Georgia as a server, she is wonderful and loves to connect with her customers. The owners Tami and Edward are wonderful too, very kind and inviting.
We had brunch- so so delicious. I had the special (steak hash with chimichurri) and my hubs had to soup and salad. Fantastic atmosphere, good prices and great food!
We were in the restaurant tonight. Our family was in town for my Father-in-Laws memorial service. The restaurant got us in quickly and gave us amazing service. The food was yummy. The staff was very friendly.
Phenomenal shrimp and grits and steak and eggs, excellent service. So good we had to ask if they had a saucier, and got a wonderfully knowledgeable answer from our server. We expected a solid good meal and this exceeded expectation with redefined and elevated southern comfort food. Will definitely come back. Highly recommend.
Server Miguel was outstandingly, service was impecable, great timing with the dishes. We had time to enjoy the amazing appetizers before the main dishes came out. I felt I was at a five diamond resort. With Nothing but true great service followed by great food.
My husband and I had a date night for the first time in weeks. We settled on Ninety Six West in Brenham. I'm so glad we did. We had the New York Strip, shrimp, broccolini, asparagus, baked potato, and cheddar grits. Everything was cooked perfectly! You can tell that they source quality product. I was on the fence about choosing a wine that would compliment the steak and asked the waitress to bring me her recommendation. She did a great job. Highly recommend this establishment!
During a recent visit to Brenham, I had the distinct pleasure of dining at this remarkable establishment, where I sampled the Italian Prosciutto flatbread. Composed of a symphony of flavours, this dish features a delightful layering of fig jam, Italian prosciutto, mozzarella, goat cheese, arugula, a balsamic reduction, and a delicate drizzle of honey. Each ingredient was thoughtfully curated and perfectly balanced, conjuring nostalgic notes reminiscent of authentic Italian cuisine I have enjoyed during travels abroad. It is rare to find such a sincere and skillful homage to traditional Italian flavours in Texas, yet here, it was accomplished with remarkable finesse. The excellence of the cuisine was matched by the attentive and warm service. I would like to extend particular appreciation to Morgan and Abigail, both of whom demonstrated professionalism, charm, and a genuine dedication to guest satisfaction. A special note of gratitude is due to Morgan, whose natural ease and kindness with children is truly commendable, making our family experience all the more memorable. Without hesitation, I can say this is one of the finest restaurants in Brenham, Texas. An establishment where culinary artistry and heartfelt service unite, creating an experience that is both rare and exceptional.

Nestled in the heart of this charming town, the restaurant exudes a cozy, inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home the moment you walk in. The brunch menu is a delightful medley of flavors, perfectly balancing traditional favorites with creative twists. This is obvious in how we ordered: nachos and a flatbread. Ha. The service at Ninety Six West is impeccable. The staff is genuinely friendly and attentive, ensuring that your coffee cup is always full and your needs are promptly met. Their warmth and hospitality enhance the overall dining experience, making you feel like a cherished guest.
Everything about this this place is excellent. The atmosphere, the location, and the food was absolutely delicious. Big portions. Margreta is what an amazing server should be. She was friendly and made us felt welcome. She explained the menu and was just sweet. I will definitely return. We had the butchers special and the grilled chicken jasmine rice.
My husband and I were driving home to Austin from Houston and stopped for an early dinner. We are so glad we did. Our server, Sonja P., was wonderful! We had the crab cakes, sirloin (perfect medium rare), mashed potatoes and honey balsamic Brussel sprouts. Finished with the flourless chocolate cake with salted caramel sauce. Delighted by the atmosphere in this charming restaurant. We chatted with the tables near us, figuring out what we will try the next time we stop at this special place!
What a lucky find! We were driving from Marble Falls to Houston with our pups and stopped here for lunch. It was excellent. I had the Airline Chicken Breast and my husband had the Three Cheese Macaroni with chicken. We started with black eyed pea and tomato basil soup. From the food to the service everything was excellent. We will be stopping here again!
My wife and I have been wanting to try Ninety Six West foe some time. We finally got our chance. My wife had a Caesar salad with chicken and I had the Grilled Salmon over Rice and green beans. Both dishes were very good and the atmosphere on the patio was great. The staff was friendly and prompt. The prices are on the high side but overall a good experience.
We really enjoyed our time there last weekend. It was very relaxed and the staff was attentive and friendly. They had a good menu that was too extensive. We had the sliders and the Wagu steak flatbed. I enjoyed both. My wife liked the sliders more than the flatbed. She thought the goat cheese was a little overpowering, bit I thought the acid of the balsamic worked well with it. We'd definitely go back the next time there in Brenham.
We love this place...the food is great and the atmosphere is very nice. Yesterday was kind of a disappointing experience with the waitress. We came in at about noon on a Saturday on purpose because it's not a very busy time and we had our two year old with us. She is generally very well behaved and didn't cause any problems but the waitress seemed a little annoyed perhaps. And then after we ordered drinks and an appetizer she came over and sort of hurriedly grabbed the menus before I stopped her and said we didn't order our food. My wife and I both noticed her demeanor change after this. She was much more jovial after it seemed she realized she would get a bigger top with more food ordered... especially a 67 dollar rib eye. It was a great lunch that was made a little less fun by her perceived assumption of us. Not a huge deal but an opportunity for improvement as I'm sure the owner, who seems like a sweet lady, would not like her guests to feel the way we did.
Quaint place with good food and service. Had the buffalo chicken flatbread and was rather tasty. Only downside was when seated at a table for two....my neighbor was on my back and I was on his. Really tight quarters where we were seated so if you needed to get up you got to play bumper chairs. Felt bad for the guy behind me!! Otherwise enjoyable experience. I'll be back!
The food here is great. If you're in town for a stay and are looking for an upscale experience, this is the place to go. For an appetizer we split their bacon wrapped quail. It's served on top of a bed of mashed potatoes, where were very savory and creamy. The quail breasts are cooked well, with great flavor. The plate had a basalmic reduction drizzled across everything, which was good, but not what we expected since the description says they have a garlic herb butter topping the quail. For dinner we split their 16 oz ribeye. The plate was served with deliciously sweet brussel sprouts that were flash fried and coated in a honey sauce. We substituted their smoked gouda macaroni in place of the mashed potatoes. The ribeye was cooked just how we ordered it, and flavored quite nicely. The portion was large, with very little fat. I especially liked that the meat was from 44 Farms, which is local to the Brenham area. The macaroni was delicious. The gouda sauce was very smokey and creamy. The noodles were cooked well, and it all was topped with crispy bread crumbs on top. The only thing I would have liked to see was more of a selection of beer from the local brewery. Their selection of wine is great. But for the craft beer drinker, your choices are very limited. I tried the Bourbon Barrel aged Kentucky, which was okay. All in all, the place is a great place to visit if you are looking to splurge a little for a nice meal, while visiting.
SUPER Disappointed!!! 1st the bartender Kat was super pleasant and nice. But, everything else wasn’t great. I’m a single mom in town for softball and was alone. I sat at the bar (1st person there as it was early). I ordered an appetizer and started in. I then ordered a salad which was awesome then my steak and 3 sides. Steak was over cooked and only 2 sides came out (yes, I was charged for all 3). As I was eating the hostess came over and asked me to move IN THE MIDDLE OF MY MEAL so a couple could sit down. She was very rude and condescending. At this point I was annoyed and decided to leave. Dinner with tip $200 that I didn’t even get to enjoy. Wont be going back!
Restaurant ambience is nice, host was friendly and professional, and love the outdoor seating area. Service was very slow and food quality was bad, not to mention it came cooked with a random leaf. We ordered some appetizers and entries, unfortunately it took over 45 mins for them to bring anything. Finally, everything came at once but it was soggy and my French toast topping was mixed with some weird dry leaf. I am not sure what was going on in the kitchen or with our host, but it was not a pleasant experience. We were polite and patient, ate what we could and got out of there. This was only our experience. However, tables around us seemed to receive a faster service and they seemed happy with their experience.
