Must Be Heaven has such a charming soda‑shop vibe that makes you feel welcome the moment you walk in. The space is bright, nostalgic, and spotless — including the bathrooms, which were impressively clean. The staff were warm and attentive, adding to the relaxed, hometown feel. One of the highlights for me was the sweet tea. It’s surprisingly hard to find a place that gets it right, but theirs was perfectly balanced and genuinely refreshing. I also appreciated seeing several vegan options on the menu — a thoughtful touch that makes the place accessible to more people. Overall, Must Be Heaven delivers comfort, friendliness, and quality in a way that feels effortless. A great stop for anyone looking for good food, good tea, and a welcoming atmosphere.

This cafe is wonderful! I had the French Dip -- the bread was fresh, there was plenty of meat & cheese, & the au jus was definitely homemade. I also tried the chocolate meringue pie -- best I've heard had. It literally was a little slice of heaven. The staff was also very friendly & the place has a very cool antiquitie style. I definitely recommend this spot. It is busy. We waited in line for about 15 minutes, but it was so worth it!

The old time charm and sense of nostalgia make it feel like a step back into a simpler, sweeter era. Everything from the atmosphere to the friendly service adds to the experience. The muffaletta was a standout and absolutely worth the visit on its own. This is the kind of place that makes you slow down, enjoy the moment, and leave already planning your next stop back. Highly recommended.

Great option for lunch. My chicken salad and soup hit the spot. Others in my group had the pimento cheese BLT and they really enjoyed it. Need to go back to try the pies.

The food and pies are amazing. Atmosphere is fantastic. Only one complaint. I ordered a stuffed avocado with tuna salad. They gave me a stuffed avocado with chicken salad. When I took it back for replacement. The blonde haired woman was not apologetic. Grabbed my plate and threw it in the trash. First off it was not my fault they made it wrong. I over looked her meanness due to the fact this place was so lovely.

We get a menu and get in line to order, similar to lubby's but here is mostly sandwiches and two options for soup, pies are delicious and ice cream of course, there is a sitting kind of A&W were you can order floats, ice cream, pies, etc., we loved it!

We enjoyed a late lunch on a week day. There was a steady stream of patrons eating in and getting to-go orders. We had the club with bbq chips, french dip with broccoli cheese soup, and the works with chips. Lots of food, and everything was delicious. Chocolate pie with meringue and chocolate chip pie for dessert - huge servings.

A true small Texas town gem! Cafeteria style walk up ordering means super fast service. We were all at our table with our food in 5 minutes. Sandwiches are fresh and delicious with homemade bread. The soups are also fresh and hot and very tasty. My salad was crisp and delicious. The watermelon unsweetened ice tea was a perfect compliment to a great lunch! Our favorite spot when we are in town can't wait to come back!

We had a fantastic experience at Must Be Heaven in Brenham! From the moment we walked in, we were charmed by the nostalgic, small-town atmosphere and the friendly, welcoming staff. The menu offers something for everyone—classic sandwiches, fresh salads, hearty soups, and an impressive selection of homemade pies and Blue Bell ice cream. Our group tried a variety of dishes, including the chicken salad stuffed avocado, the Reuben, and the daily special, and everything was fresh and delicious. The portions were generous, and the bread and desserts were outstanding—don’t miss the coconut cream or buttermilk pie! Even with a busy lunch crowd, the service was quick and efficient, and the staff made us feel right at home. The old-fashioned soda fountain and décor add a special touch, making it a perfect spot for families or anyone looking for a memorable meal in Brenham. We can’t wait to come back and try more from their menu. Highly recommend stopping by Must Be Heaven for a true taste of Texas hospitality and comfort food at its best!

I love a good Monte Cristo sandwich but a really good one can be really hard to find. This place delivers the goods in an amazing way! I don't live in Texas but if I did, I would enjoy a weekly Monte Cristo! My husband an I split the sandwich and split bread pudding for dessert. Both were delicious! No wonder this place was so busy when we got there. The locals know where the place to go is!

I’ve come here a lot over the last 20 years but honestly, it’s been a few years since I had been here until today. I came over with my fiancé so that we could get married and we had lunch somewhere else and then dessert before heading to the wedding. The cherry pie was my favorite of the three desserts we got.

Was a nice lunch spot. I had the quiche which was good. The pie was great and everything was well kept and clean. Very large menu with daily specials. It was nice to have the option of fruit as a side. My wife had the Texas Monte Cristo. It seemed odd to me but the taste was fine. It was just a bit burnt as well.

Got here when it opened, so super fast service. Very nice staff. Best soft drinks ever! Good mix. Worth cheating today, only drink about 1 soda a month. Very good, wife liked the chicken salad sandwich and broccoli cheese soup. My club was really good. Very good cherry pie! Wife really liked her bourbon chocolate chip pecan pie. Will visit again next time we are in town.

A very nice place for lunch in Brenham. Our first time in this nice town, half way stop between Ft. Hood and Galveston. Great Roast beef and Pastrami sandwiches with a great pickle on the side. We hit it right at peak lunch time and we had our food and drinks and were sitting down within 7 minutes. Nice atmosphere and great service. Reasonably priced and we Highly recommend!!!

After a hot morning shopping through the Round Top market, we headed back into Brenham insearch of a cool place to rest up and eat something easy and not fried, for once. A quick search sent us to Must be Heaven, and boy, did the smell of baking bread that greeted us on opening the door live up to the name! Sandwiches are not the only thing on offer, but it's what we got. Grilled cheese, Monte Cristo, French Dip and a chicken club, served with a drink, chips and the classic pickle spear. All simple, but tasty! Broccoli cheese soup also a winner. Let's not forget the caramel pecan cheesecake and my own key lime pie...delicious. As a sign on the wall says- always room for pie. Order is counter-style and wait to grab and take to your table...and despite the lunch rush line snaking through the joint, it moved incredibly fast. Would definitely pop in again!

Cashier was pleasant but rushed so hard to understand. Chicken and dumplings was canned chicken with peas, carrots, corn, green beans in cream sauce with one fat 2 inch ny 1 inch noodle. Not the chicken and dumplings I was raised with. Bread pudding was delightful. Too many microwaves for my type of sandwich shop..

It was just ok, not worth the wait. The service was like what you would expect at a fast food restaurant. The crust on the quiche was delicious, so my guess is that their pies are great. The quiche filling was tasteless except for sun dried tomatoes clumped together. The sandwiches were just ok. They were out of the special but it was later in the afternoon around 2pm. If your expectations are a cute family style atmosphere and convenient dining in downtown, this is a good place. Just wasn’t impressed with the food.

The restaurant decor is cute, but that was about the only positive for this place. The cashier was rude and charged us for combo meals when we ordered a la carte items. It was obvious she could not care less. When I tried to point out the error, she walked off and never returned. The food was mediocre… Not gross, but not memorable either. Keep in mind, they will nuke your food in their microwaves right in front of you, which I found to be underwhelming. A heated holding shelf would have made a lot more sense instead of having the food nuked to death. Overall, we won’t be returning or recommending this location.

$70 for 3.5 sandwich combs for lunch!! Wow!! Very disappointing for a BLT with very little thin bacon from the microwave, grilled chicken pulled out of a pot of water and lukewarm broccoli cheese soup and see through, thin and hard rice tasteless chicken gumbo soup. The prices certainly did not reflect the quality or quantity of the food served.

We were at a company retreat and ordered a catered lunch yesterday. We did this last year and the food was great. This year it was a 180 in the opposite direction. My table ordered a chicken salad - she has been sick ever since trying to eat it, a French dip, I have never had meat so tough to eat- a monte cristo - all grease. There was not one person out of 18 that we were told enjoyed the food. I do not write many reviews but thought this time it was necessary.
