Potàtoes Brescia Reviews
A beautiful little place, clean and bright, that immediately struck me with the friendly and confidential welcome of the two lovely girls who work there. I went there on a Friday evening with a friend and we ate two excellent dishes from the "potato" menu. My gorgo/sausage/friarielli was sublime, flavorful and plentiful, accompanied by a medium blonde beer on tap. It's located in Brescia 2, adjacent to the Kennedy overpass, with plenty of parking in the evening. Definitely worth a try!!! 👍😍🥔🍀🙏
The atmosphere is truly pleasant and refined, so much so that I've returned several times, even for business meetings with clients, who have always been impressed. The young staff stands out for their professionalism, dynamism, and great friendliness, helping to make the experience even more enjoyable! The quality-price ratio is more than balanced: the portions are generous, and the food offerings are varied and original compared to what you'd typically find elsewhere. A place that definitely deserves to be chosen again and again. Congratulations, keep up the good work!
I ordered two potatoes to take out, one carbonara (Pota magno) and one summery (Pota che pesto). They were prepared in 10 minutes, incredibly fast. The staff is really nice and friendly, the potatoes are really tasty and made with quality ingredients and are filling; they look small but are actually packed with ingredients. The price is very reasonable for the quality. The only flaw (if I have to be picky) in the carbonara was the pancetta that was just overcooked, not cooked through. I recently tried the dine-in option, and I can confirm: the staff is very kind and friendly, the service is extremely fast, and the dishes are delicious.
I discovered the place thanks to Instagram ads. The experience was very pleasant. I can't wait to go back and try other fantastic potatoes. I had the one with porchetta, pesto, and porcini mushrooms. What can I say, it was super tasty. It reminded me of a dish I couldn't find anywhere else. The portion was nice and filling. I was worried the potato would be too small, but I changed my mind as soon as I saw the plate. I was full enough to try the desserts, but next time I'll definitely try the cheesecake!
Excellent place offering a simple specialty. The quality of the ingredients is excellent, and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Reservations are highly recommended. Service is fast and friendly. I highly recommend leaving condiments on the table; oil and salt are the only things I missed. Otherwise, the experience was very pleasant, and I'll definitely be back to try other versions. Well done guys 👍👍👌
Original concept and good food. The only shame is that the service is sometimes a bit sloppy, and there are more seating on weekends. Reservations are practically mandatory. Update 2025: The service has improved, but there's still plenty of room for improvement. If you also recommend an appetizer with fries, you can't bring me the main course within two minutes.
Great place to try something different. The guy who served us (I think he was the owner) was really kind and polite. I tried the carbonara-stuffed potato, which was very good; the guanciale was sublime. The berry cheesecake was also excellent, although the biscuits weren't the best. Definitely worth a try, although I don't think I'd go back again.
I had the artichoke and smoked burrata version (without the bacon): good ingredients, but the burrata was very cold. Too cold. I've never had this happen anywhere else with mozzarella, burrata, or similar products. So it was a no-go. The second time I tried it, it was with caponata. Better, but not convincing.
I booked well in advance using the phone number available on the website, but my reservation still wasn't registered in the system with the cashier. Three other people at the table and I waited about 30 minutes before we could order from the waiter, and another 30-40 minutes passed before receiving our food. Others at the table nearby got up and left because the wait had become ridiculous. I'm sorry for this unpleasant situation, especially considering the dishes are substantial and otherwise acceptable. I would also like to point out the lack of an allergen list clearly indicated on the digital menu.
The idea behind A Potatoes is certainly original and intriguing, but personally, the experience didn't quite meet my expectations. The potatoes weren't bad, neither good nor bad. The service was average, although the cashier seemed a little pissed off. The atmosphere is calm and quiet, but overall, not particularly engaging. Considering the type of ingredients and dishes, I found the prices a bit high for what they offer. It's a nice place to try something different, but I don't know if I'd go back.
