Fantastic place. Stopped in and had a wonderful evening with my friend. Food is amazing, staff is friendly and attentive and the food is flavorful and enormous. And the bar is packed with all kinds of Scotch. I highly recommend.
Superb, everything simply wonderful . I needed to be in and out for lunch and that's exactly what I got. Not to mention the Croton burger is outstanding along with a Guinness pint, can go wrong. Service is top notch as well.

Great spot just far enough away from the Bernard Jacobs Theatre so that it wasn't crowded after our show! Food and service was great!
Dropped in during the holiday season without a reservation and got seated right away!! Great atmosphere with great service! The artichoke dip was amazing!!
The atmosphere was cozy without feeling crowded. The service was prompt, courteous & consistent throughout the meal. The chicken nachos we had shared was delicious & was a shareable size. The tavern burger I ate was cooked how I had requested. The restrooms were clean & inviting. Overall, I would recommend & choose to go again the next time I'm in NYC!
Had happy hour here, and it was a good time! Luis our server was friendly and attentive. Food and drinks were great! Will come back!
Drinks, food, and service were good. Nice place to go after work for some drinks with coworkers or friends. Lively yet not too crowded or noisy
I recently visited Croton Reservoir Tavern in Manhattan with two friends and had a pleasant experience. I appreciated that the place was located on the first floor, making it easily accessible. The atmosphere was quiet and comfortable, despite TVs displaying sports programs (they were on mute) and quiet background music. The sparsely populated venue allowed us to converse easily without having to raise our voices. The staff were nice, polite, and friendly, contributing to the overall positive experience. The food menu wasn’t extensive, but it was adequate for a bar. The drink menu, on the other hand, was impressively long, featuring pages of various beverages. I particularly liked how the drinks were categorized by country, such as Japan, and separated into types like beer, gin, vodka, etc. Drinks were available both by the glass and by the bottle, which provided flexibility depending on your preference. The sizes of the glasses were standard. The prices were a bit on the high side, but that’s expected in Manhattan. My only gripe was with the high chairs and tables, which were uncomfortable for a shorter person like me. It would be great if they could add a few lower tables and chairs for more inclusivity. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and would recommend Croton as a great spot to gather with friends or colleagues for a drink or a catch-up.
I came here for a speed dating event on Valentine's Day 2024, which was being held in the cellar. I was hungry. Before the event started, I inhaled a Croton Crunch spicy chicken sandwich. It was delicious and filling. My belly was happy. It cost under $30 with gratuity. Service was good and attentive, but the place was almost full so there was a lot of noise. I prefer quieter places, but for extroverts who like to yell, this place is for them.
Wow. This bar is NYC in a bottle (excuse obvious pun). Great atmosphere, quiet, understated, roomy yet clubby at the same time. Awesome location, great wines, mind blowing whiskey and Bourbon list (try the Boyntons bourbon on the rocks). I like that the music is background rather than in your face and great 80s-to-now playlist (special props for Blue Oyster Cult pirate recording). I like that the food is limited in scope, but well executed, I like the bar staff, friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, engaging (thanks Kosovar Lee for the experience). Highly recommended if you like what I’ve described.
Looks like a typical cross town bar but has a great atmosphere and exceptionally well prepared food. Not a big menu but the selections provide for a nice lunch or an excellent dinner. Somebody in the kitchen is chef trained, a surprise in what you might think is just a small bar. Huge liquor selection and knowledgeable bartender.
Early dinner after an enjoyable matinee. Never been to Croton but a place we wanted to try! Host/waiter greeted us upon entering and seated us quickly. Great service and even more wonderful food!! We will be back when we’re in the ‘hood!!! They also have a nice, long bar with plenty of seats. TVs everywhere. Plus, a downstairs bar (it was closed) but I’m pretty sure they use for private gatherings.
Been here a few times, but we generally skip this place in favor of better restaurants in the area. Last time we visited it was quiet but the staff were inattentive and they were out of some things. Maybe we caught them on an off day, but we chose not to return last time the option came up.
The food is so bad here I do not recommend 🤢 The servers here were very nice, but god that ravioli was disgusting and overpriced- I should have known when the description said it has peas in it. The sauce and the mushrooms tasted funky and the texture was grainy (?). Can’t say how the drinks are though
