Kushi Kushi Yaki Broadway Reviews
A cool spot with a nice vibe and good food. I was walking around to pass time and decided to get a bite. I am glad I stopped here. The menu looked amazing and I ordered the pork belly skewer and the Black Garlic Tonkatsu Ramen. The ramen was comforting and the skewer was flavorful. The service was spot on, very friendly and attentive. I would definitely go again.
Don't pass it by because of its unassuming presence. Takoyaki was phenomenal and the ramen was also great, I had the black garlic and husband had miso. Staff very welcoming.
First off, their seafood bimbap is to die for. You get so much meat and it’s seasoned so well. One order was enough for two People. The skewers are also just as elite! All the meat was juicy and had so much flavor, which then leaves me to the bulgogi fries! Also great cocktails to wash it down with. The customer service was GREAT, I was super stuffed and satisfied leaving here. 5 stars for sure!
Really enjoyed the ramen here. The broth was rich and flavorful without being too heavy, and the noodles tasted fresh. The pork was tender, and the toppings added great texture. The menu has a good variety, from classic tonkotsu to more unique options like truffle shoyu. Cozy spot and a great place for a satisfying bowl of ramen. Would definitely come back.
This is one of only 3 decent yakitori places I know of in midtown and it’s the only one that is semi reasonably priced. The yakitori is very good, but the menu has some notable omissions (no bacon wrapped asparagus for example). My only complaint: it’s uncomfortable. The chairs are particularly stark. This is a place to eat and go rather than a place to hang out. In the winter it’s always a bit cold. With better seating/lighting I would hang out here all the time, instead I mainly use it for quick lunches.
Amazing. Next question🥰 my first time there and i had Yakisoba noodles with vegetables, shrimp skewers, and fries. I loved the music cause they were playing some soul music too (in koreatown?!). Love that🎶 also great portion size. Me and my friend both took home plates and price was good. We definitely over tipped with love ❤️
In Thailand I had the most amazing Yakitori beef skewers with honey sauce; I purposely chose this restaurant with that in mind & was not let down! Really good quality ribeye, fries were also really tasty & bountiful. Service was amazing & I do not say that often: the waiter was really nice & attentive. It was quite a pleasant atmosphere, but a little loud being open planned; not that this mattered much when I enjoyed the food so much. A lot more reasonably priced than other restaurants I have visited. The only feedback I could give would be to add Japanese sticky rice to the menu.
Order anything from the menu and I promise you will be really happy with it. The atmosphere is great, it’s located in K town where it’s a nice walk to take after eating. I went with a few friends and the price wasn’t that much for what it was. I 100% recommend it and I hope to go back one day!
Lots of variety when it comes to yakitori- I tried the gizzard yakitori, as well as the yakitori bento box which came with the chef's suggestions. Mine had 2 pork sausages, small corn with pork belly, 2 zucchini and 1 chicken. I also got their gyoza since I was extra hungry- worth it!! My favorite out of the 5 yakitori I tried is probably the chicken and gizzard. The chicken yakitori was so tender and flavorful, it had slices of onion in between the chicken, and the gizzard was crunchy but so meaty. The zucchini and the small corn with pork belly was also very good, and it had a sweeter taste to it, and the sausage yakitori was very smokey- in a good way! I do wish however, that they didn't add so much sauce on top of the bento box, because the rice was a bit too saturated for me. The rice was a bit mushy and it was just too sweet for my preference. The bento box came with pickled vegetables, seaweed salad, miso soup and a small salad along with some togarashi (I think). The gyoza was also quite nice- it had a crunchy bottom and the filling wasn't too meaty. The filling looked to be chives, pork and possibly vermicelli noodles. The waiter was also super nice, he attended to every table with so much care and always a smile, and the chef was equally nice. There were about 40 seats or so (total estimate), and it's well lit. It didn't feel cramped at all, and the front of the restaurant was where they grill and prep the yakitori, so it was nice to see the whole process. Great experience and food!
Stopped by for a late lunch with friends on a Monday (July 3rd before the holiday) and had a really great time here! The food, service, and general ambiance were all great. We ordered the 5 skewer combo, the chicken kara-age, bulgogi fries, and the tuna tartare bibimbap. We shared among three people and it was the perfect amount of food. My favorites were the bulgogi fries and the rib-eye skewer! The bimbimbap was good but because the rice was so hot, the tuna was getting cooked in the pot so we had to remove it and keep it on the side to make sure it didn't get overcooked. The chicken kara-age was also good but the bulgogi fries really stole the show on the app side.
The atmosphere was nice, it’s small and felt very cozy. The yakitori was great - we had the chicken thigh and short rib ones. The ramen however was lacking quite a lot. I had the garlic tonkotsu and my boyfriend had the regular one. We both felt the ramen was super bland, we tried adding chili oil, chili seasoning, and even the sauce that came with the gyoza but overall the ramen just wasn’t that great. The gyoza seemed like they were steamed then fried quickly on either side - they came out… saggy? And fell apart easily. Flavor of them was just okay too. Overall it’s not a place I’d come back to unfortunately. But service was 10/10 though!
Some of the blandest ramen I’ve ever had. Minimal flavor. Broth was like water and wasn’t very much of it either. Noodles were Thin, almost dry and just super underwhelming. Ramen was not good. Gyoza were impressive though. And the chili oil was nice and strong. Some of the best gyoza I’ve had in a while. We are spoiled since we spent time in Japan last year but I’ve had better ramen in the states for sure. Was grateful we got a seat. It was a cute ramen shop. Just not really that good to be honest.
Service was lovely. They were very kind and attentive to the best of their ability and handled the rush very well. It's a solid safety pick, but I wouldn't ruin my day over trying to make it here. The skewers were decent, but I'm sure there is better and cheaper elsewhere. The bathroom was very hot and humid.
I was racially profiled by the server. Because I have brown skin, the server assumed I was maybe Muslim/Hindu (which i’m not) and let me know that my order contained pork. I mean, good on him for doing that (some people may not know), but also some people may not appreciate that either. But that wasn’t the problem for me. My partner received their order and was finished eating by the time my food came to me. Multiple people around me got their orders before I did so by the time my food came, I had lost my appetite. It’s sad because I have eaten there before and had really good experiences, but this one time it put a sour taste in my mouth, and I probably won’t want to visit again. Sorry.
Don't order yakitori here! I ordered the 10 skewers combo, and they stated that there will be a chef selection of 3 chicken skewers. But when the plate was brought up, there was only 3 chicken thigh. Moreover, they replaced green onion with regular onion, which changes the taste. Also, some of the skewers were burnt, the menu was crusty, and the ribeye beef was really dry.
not one to leave a bad review but this sure has got to be one of the very mid ramen i’ve ever tried. i ordered a miso ramen. soup was so salty it’s inedible. skewers are so tough and heavily coated in some sauce. it’s not just some glaze its almost as if soup sauce was poured on top. other than disappointing food, servers were very attentive and caring though. they tried to fix the ramen for me. i just expected better food for the price in koreatown. needless to say i’m def not returning for the food.
I’m not normally one to leave a bad review for a restaurant, but this experience was deserving. We entered after standing in the cold with snow coming down and waited several minutes to be seated. Water was dropped off, and then nearly 25 minutes passed without anyone taking our order or even acknowledging us. During this time, the server checked on other tables and took the order of a table across from us that had just arrived. When I mentioned we had been waiting for a while, her response was, “I didn’t see you,” which I found offensive considering she walked past our table multiple times. We ordered the cocktail in a bag, ramen, and branzino. The food was decent, but the service was essentially nonexistent. Our food was dropped off, and no one returned to check on us until it was time to drop the check. If I could give zero stars for service, I would. After reading other reviews, it appears not all customers are treated the same. Needless to say, we won’t be returning.
absolutely garbage, you gotta be joking with the food quality here, like what the heck am i eating even, seasoning with full on honey and chef choices of the yakitori are tomatoes and chicken breast like hello? And with all the people that are lining up for this food just get out of here please.
