Exceptional diner breakfast and always great service. Well worth it!
I’m a diabetic & it has been hard for me to get a sugar free syrup for my Pancakes at Diners but this place has it all, I am able to enjoy pancakes for breakfast & their servers r awesome!! LOVE IT
The food was really good here! I even enjoyed the service here she was very efficient and friendly. She was the only waitress working but was still able to accommodate everyone in the restaurant even though it was full!! Will be coming back for sure!!
Great food, great service...feels like home! We go almost every Sunday!
This cafe or diner is perfect for a quick stop if you are going on a road trip out of town or if you are just in the area and want a great breakfast. They have your typical diner options available on the menu handed to you, but they also have special items that you can mention to your server. My partner and I order the Tres Golpes breakfast and it's always perfect! They are accommodating with my dietary needs as a vegetarian as well. They keep the place clean and well maintained. There is a sense of comfort and homeliness when going to a diner like this. They also play great music. If you are in the area, definitely stop by for yourself!
I remembered that this place used to be called Sunlight Diner. I liked the new name way better and based on the wonderful breakfast I had earlier, there is a reason why it was named that way. First off, I do love the fact that there is an all-day breakfast menu and let me tell you, their food and coffee was so amazing that I wondered to myself: "Why didn't I come more often?" Of course, I always had a positive experience and the staff are super friendly and understanding. I witnessed an humanitarian act which tells me that they truly care for all their customers. It did restore my faith in humanity a little bit. Anyway, the place is well-kept and their prices are both reasonable and affordable. Their menu has some pretty good choices so do take your time to explore what they have to offer. All in all, I will definitely 100% recommend this place for any small occasion and I do see myself returning again in the future.
The sausage could’ve been better if it wasn’t deep fried it was looking too dry and the French toast could’ve been done better didn’t like the taste didn’t like the orange juice was sour .Good customer service clean place. The price and the quality didn’t add up so I was disappointed with the amount. To be honest.
Even at your busiest, how could you just leave someone to sit and not give them a menu? No attention and no greeting? People came after me and were given menus. Will never step foot in here again.
I grew up coming here for breakfast. They would serve coffee or tea and orange juice. The service and quality of food is terrible. I came for lunch. Asked for cheese burger and fries. Horrible. My lettuce are old my shoe sting fries are short like they cut them in half. All fried to long. Maybe refried. I’m never coming here again. I work to hard for my money for trash.
I feel like this place is extremely overpriced and the food nor the service is great not mention you're in the south bronx so the area also isn't great, you get better good and better prices at Golden mine in Riverdale.
This place is a RIPOFF and the only reason why I can think of is RACISM since my partner is Caucasian and they probably assumed I was too which disgusts me. We ordered a cheap sandwich that came with fries and sodas and a taco plate which had to be discounted since it was before 3pm as their menus indicated but when we received our check we were stunned because they clearly charged us double but that’s okay because what goes around comes around and the city of NY will be notified. To make matters worse it was filthy the floor and table we had to clean ours best we could and we even tipped them $25 on top of the fraudulent high priced check because they ruined our lunch. Just be aware. We won’t return and will tell all our friends to instead go eat at the Delicious Mexican restaurant next to Home Depot a few blocks up because they don’t overcharge or discriminate.
What a disappointing experience and a RIP OFF. Two lunches for $47.00 when their menu states reduced prices for Mexican plates during lunch. They give tiny receipts only if you ask for them with no prices so need to refer to menu prices just for them to lie and claim their menu prices have changed. It would’ve made a big difference had we been informed by that BEFORE ordering plus waiters won’t bring you everything you ask for as in condiments such as cream, ketchup etc so STAY AWAY is my advice.
I was a loyal customer to this eatery from the beginning of the pandemic in 2020 averaging $40 a week in orders. The food was always clean and the delivery men very polite.. Since it's a local restaurant, I'd prefer to support them over a big chain like McDonald's. However; NEVER AGAIN. While placing an order, I requested to please change the home fries to French fries (THAT'S ALL). The guy FLIPS, gets super angry and into a big thing about how I don't have to say it as I did. In essence he was annoyed I made the request to switch sides too politely (I'm not even going to try to figure out why anyone would have a problem with a customer speaking politely.) A routine order I place all the time turned into an ugly situation where this person's yelling at me, being obnoxious, rude and dismissive. When I tried to tell him he was being rude, he kept cutting me off to tell me what else do I want. I simply said goodbye and hung up. If this person was having a bad day, he had no business answering the phone and he absolutely has no right to take his frustrations out on the customers, especially loyal ones like me. Never again. Theirs is certainly not the only restaurant in the area nor the best. No customer should be treated like that.
