Chen‘s New China Bronx Reviews
New China has been in this neighborhood for years. I’ve lived here, almost 50. I always enjoyed the cuisine, but had stopped eating Chinese food for a while recently I started going to them again, and the food is even better than before. I usually order online so I cannot tell you about the atmosphere. But they deserve a five star and trust me I don’t give it lightly.
My go to local Chinese restaurant. I love their garlic sauce, pork dumplings, boneless spare ribs, and Singapore Mei Fun. Continues to be my go to local spot. The food is always tasty. When company visits and we agree on Chinese. They all rave the tastiness too.
Tonight I ordered off the menu, Chicken Chow Mein. It’s so delicious. The chef did a great job with my Egg Drop Soup. Staff was friendly and makes you feel like you are at home. Will back soon.
Amazing food, great service, speaks and understand English very well, delivery took only 10 minutes after called in order. Dumplings are good!
Great Chinese food. But if you want duck sauce, make sure you ask for it. They'll never give you it or any side sauce without asking.
goat of Chinese food amazing food 67
A great neighborhood spot that you can rely on for an affordable meal! Very friendly service.
This is basically the Chinese restaurant to go to in Riverdale. Staff is always friendly and the food is always good.
Great place to get Chinese food. The staff is polite and the food always hit just right.
The owners are super sweet and the food is delicious! Great local spot :)

I avoid: the egg rolls, the cold sesame noodles, and the Moo Shu dishes! (I do like the Cabbage Chicken with Curry Sauce, the chicken noodles soup, and the dumplings.) The shrimp egg roll was awful: the only thing I could taste was oil & the wrapper had oil pooled in it. The cold sesame noodles failed: it was too watery, and there was hardly any sesame paste!
This has been my go-to Chinese food joint at home in Riverdale. We have some fancy sit down places in the area but this hole in the wall is still my absolute favorite. Even after all these years, they still but boxes of soda cans right in front of the window, have personal items in the store refrigerator, put their specials in permanent market on cardboard, and plaster their window with local ads. It's like a person who just gave up grooming themselves but is still relatively clean. "I'm your local Chinese food store, deal with it." My favorite dishes here are the chicken and Broccoli (all day everyday, nothing like that brown sauce!) and the chicken eggplant with garlic sauce over pork fried rice <-lunch special for maximum value. LOL autocorrect tried to call it project fried rice hahaha Compared to other establishments in rougher areas of the Bronx and greater NYC, I always felt like New China had it easy - no bulletproof glass or gated entrance to the kitchen. So as such I don't think their cutting any corners when it comes to serving a community that has supported them for probably over 15 years. Wait a clip...I just realized I've eaten enough chicken and broccoli to put their kids through college! Good gracious...

I went in for pick up. The person who I ordered from was polite and attentive, however the food was just so-so if at best. I was charged higher for a lunch special than was advertised and I had double checked the price before ordering. The broccoli was undercooked and I also was not given a choice for what to include with me my meal (soup was an option) and was just given an eggroll. The meat and rice was ok. I probably won't order from again.

Food is good, but the delivery man is a pest. He will hound and beg for a tip, pretty much harras you and if you dont give him what he thinks he deserves for DOING his job, the JOB his employers pay him to do, he will question n give you attitude. He has done this twice and honestly...it is very distasteful and is sure a guaranteed way to keep customers away. Never ordering from them again.
I ordered food at this place for the first time and while I was waiting for my meal the cook left to do a delivery, which I found this odd. Furthermore, I asked the lady how long would I have to wait for my meal and who was going to prepare my meal she became real nasty and made the wrong meal. Horrible service, Never again will I go back to this place.
Personally don't order from this place, having 3 people around like this is never a good idea, especially since the lady who took my order placed her hands inside the containers which is cross contamination, I just up and left
food was bland, and late, wouldn't get again.
This was the worst Chinese food I have ever had. Please save your money do not go here!

Food ordered was very bad. Sesame Chicken tasted like BBQ with water made you wanna puke.
