Happy Land Restaurant Bronx Reviews
Best Mandi in NYC, I always come here whenever I visit the city.
Went here today and was pleased with the quality. Got 2 Shawarmas, They took a long time preparing it so I knew it was gonna hit. Great prices and great food! Workers are are friendly highly highly recommend
The best Yemenis restaurant , nice and clean, I feel like I m home 😋😋
I went and ordered the Fahsa with lamb and the Salta about a month ago. It comes with a nice amount of bread to eat it with too. It was wonderful and I highly recommend this place. Still remember how lovely it was so I decided to write a review. I feel like that is a good testament to how nice it was. I recommend those two dishes if you go here.
Absolutely firrrrreeee meal. The Fashsa (lamb) is a flavor bomb. Beware it’s hot inside so wear layers, otherwise 10/10 food.
It’s a nice little restaurant with a decent amount of tables and chairs so a spot to sit and eat is commonly found. Their rotisserie chicken is juicy because the size of the chicken they use, some places be using 30lb chicken to “sell” the most meat but here they use maybe 10-15lb chickens making them more tender and juicy 🤤. Their pricing is fair compared to other Yemeni/middle eastern restaurants. This is my go to Yemeni cuisine when I’m in the Bronx,
I was on a day trip to explore little yemen and this spot definitely delivered. It had all the things I expect from a local Yemeni spot. The service is very candid and easy going. The food was on point with all the right fixings. I got a roasted chicken with rice and a plate of okra. Highly recommended if you want a taste of yemen or youre missing home.
I am a loyal and accustomed customer to Yemen cafe on Atlantic however after many visits to the bronx I happen to stop and try this place. Little did I know, this place is a gem. Very generous portion, delicious, still inexpensive(16 for a dish compare to $20 in Brooklyn) I will def come here again.
They have good food, but they have too much traffic
Good chicken kabab. Amazing hummus and bread. 4 stars because the service was so slow on the day we went, we were not offered napkins or water till we asked, and perhaps this is the trend in Yemeni restaurants that I'm not aware of, but other patrons will leave all their bones and trash on the table itself rather than on plates. I'd do takeout next time.
The staff is attentive, and the restaurant is clean. Overall, the food is hit or miss. The Grill House Specialty Platter was overly salty, and on my second visit the roasted lamb was dry and not very tasty. They also provide complimentary tea, salad, and soup, which is a nice touch. However, the credit card fee is outrageous.
I used to go this place for couple of years but now it’s seems that they are much busy and popular no more good and fresh food and as well as good service here :( Also I noticed they always charge you extra bill than what you have been served… be careful to check your bill. I noticed they charge us 2-3 times extra $10-15 extra and when I tried to check food price on the menu the employee says the menu is not updated and the real prices are higher than the menu shows which does not make sense, I mean why would you have out dated menu while you are a 5 star restaurant and very busy… I believe this is HARAM for a Muslim business to charge extra bill and then make up stories and not admit the mistake and return the money back, I am very disappointed from such halal place to cheat on you for few extra doller:(
This is one of my favorite spots to eat in NYC. The food is excellent and everyone there is so nice and welcoming. Unfortunately, they have problems with hygiene. 1. Some of the workers there would be touching their mouths, playing with their masks, and then serving you the food. 2. One of the employees was wearing very dirty clothes with food and oil stuck on the shirt. 3. The tea machine that serves complimentary tea for customers is a great idea, but again, there is mold smell coming out from the tea. They should clean the machine before serving complimentary tea for customers. 4. They place the uncooked chicken on the floor? I mean, COME ON. You do not ever do that. (Refer to the attached picture) This makes me worry even more about how clean the kitchen is from inside. I will remove this review once the manager/owner responds back to my review and assures us in the response that they will take strict measurements when it comes to hygiene because I don't want to affect their business. I love this place, but I get disappointed with the hygiene.
