Angels Cafe Brooklyn Reviews
This was the best experience I’ve ever had at a bagel shop. The owner started with a complimentary fresh muffin (it was delicious) and added extras to our bagels that made them absolutely perfect. If you’re in the area, just go. Best bagel you’ll have in Brooklyn.
The sandwiches are so good, and for such a good price too especially for this area. The guy working there is super nice. Very chill atmosphere.
First time trying this place out and really enjoyed the everything bagel with cream cheese I got. Great service, delicious food, I would highly recommend this place if you’re in Williamsburg.
Perfect spot for a delicious gluten free bagel sandwich (non gluten also available of course). Lots of choices, freshly squeezed orange juice available. Their ordering system is a kiosk that is a little confusing at first but easy enough once you take a minute. The seating is minimal, better for takeout than dine in.
I had the Clinton Hill bagel during one of my walks in the neighborhood and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of all the ingredients. Everything was fresh and delicious. I seldom enjoy savory bagels without adding some flavor to it but it was spot on. I felt rejuvenated and not overstuffed, helping me push forward during my fitness regimen.
My first NYC bagel experience so I wouldn’t have any other to compare but to me this was pretty decent! The cheese was plenty, maybe more salmon would be great. Loved the greens like fresh mint in it. Bagel was crunchy on the outside and chewy inside. It is in a lovely neighborhood, has seating outside for people watching while brunching, and they had buy one get one free deal if you get the same bagel which was a good deal.
Loved the touch order screen, and it didn’t take away any of the personal vibes of the shop! The staff was super cheery and helpful and even brought my coffee when I was waiting outside. The bagel was chewier than most area bagels (a huge plus in my book), and the oven baked eggs added great texture to the sandwich. Coffee was also really good for drip coffee. Looking forward to coming back!
Amazing bagels and good coffee🥯🥯🥯🥯 My personal favorite is the everything bagel with humus and tomato. I also loved the cinnamon and raisins bagel and the red velvet is good (a lot of chocolate inside 😍🤤) The service is fantastic and I simply love restaurants that support good causes. Great venue and location in Williamsburg.
Solid bagel sandwich, but the bagel itself underwhelmed me a bit. I had the lox sandwich on everything and the salmon was fresh, I would have liked more capers or at least to taste them more, and the cream cheese could have had a stronger flavor. But all in all it was a solid bagel sandwich and I felt healthy eating it. Long wait because it was so busy but they handled that well.
Eat good, do good! Angels Cafe is super cool as they're a mission-driven shop where 40% of the profits go to North Brooklyn Angels to fight food insecurity in the community. They also have a program where you can purchase a meal for someone in need. What we got: - The Lox (Cream cheese, lox, capers, spring mix) Final Thoughts: Love the mission of the shop and they have an extensive menu including vegan and gluten-free options in addition to the classics. Depending on what you get, one of the specialty sandwiches may run you $15-20 so it can get pricey. The shop is also busy so be prepared to wait if you're a walk in during peak hours.
This is the first negative review I have ever posted of a restaurant. I ordered the “Sunset Park” bagel sandwich, which comes with “pastrami, swiss cheese, red onions, mustard, and salad”. Instead, what I got was a pathetic, soggy bagel with a single measly slice of pastrami and one slice of cheese. Insulting. See my bagel photo for reference, and compare it to the AI-generated image they advertised. $17 post-tax for this morsel of food is damn-near criminal. Do not recommend.
I was in this cafe recently, I do not recommend this place. The bun was hard and also tasteless, except for mustard from the Zainz brand you will not feel anything in this bun. In addition, this mustard gives off vinegar. The sausage and cheese have no taste. There is no air conditioning in the room. The tables are so flimsy and terrible. I do not recommend
I should follow the guy who sued McDonald’s forgot his slide of cheese and sue this place. We live in this neighborhood, and every weekend we order a BLT with egg, they charged us extra $4.99 Ninety percent of the time, the staff forgets the egg and never refunds us; they simply say sorry. The store doesn’t even have a phone number to call. Really? It’s money people work hard for, and because of their negligence, we receive what we don’t like, upset about it and still have to pay for that??? Needless say more, watch out when you order here.
Unfortunately one of the worst bagels I‘ve had recently and somehow one of the most expensive. I realize that a significant amount of the proceeds goes to charity which is incredible, but for the price a customer should still expect a certain level of quality. Brown avocado, a microwaved egg cutlet, a single slice of processed turkey… for $15. Given it’s a such a small kitchen, consider reducing ingredients and options to help maximize quality of those you decide to keep. I was pretty disappointed and I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while! I hope they take some feedback on and improve the quality.
