Clinton Hall 36 Brooklyn Reviews
Nice beer selection and a excellent place to chill a great vibe. Need tk go here to try all their options
Came in for happy hour with my fiancée. Only did drinks, no food. Had a ton of fun with the board games they had laying around. Very reasonably priced. They have a good challenge that I would have loved to try, but I had already snacked earlier that day :(
Such a great way to spend a Sunday night! The atmosphere was incredibly relaxing with the best vibes. I was there tonight with a friend, enjoying cocktails at the bar and playing board games—such a fun and cozy experience. Hannah and Josh were SPECTACULAR and truly made the night special. They made us feel right at home while still being so attentive and on top of everything. Outstanding service from them and the entire staff. A solid 10/10! This was my second visit and it absolutely did not disappoint. I’ll definitely be back soon! 🍸✨ Side note: I accidentally spilled my freshly made drink and felt terrible, but they handled it with such kindness and humor that it instantly put me at ease and made the moment so comfortable. 💕
Jefferson was simply amazing. From the moment we arrived, he was kind, funny, and incredibly welcoming. He truly connected with us in a way that made our time at the restaurant so much more enjoyable. We would absolutely come back again and again as long as jefferson is on shift! People like him make all the difference. A true star when it comes to customer service! Thank you, jefferson, for making this visit so special! 🌟
Clinton Hall on 36th Street has become one of my favorite spots in the city, and that’s thanks in no small part to Josh and Jefferson—two of the friendliest, most welcoming people you’ll meet behind a bar. Every time I walk in, they make the experience feel personal, fun, and genuinely enjoyable. What really sets Clinton Hall apart is the vibe. It’s not just for drinkers or sports fans (though they’ve got that covered too)—it’s a place where anyone looking to have a good time can feel right at home. The space is filled with arcade games, a full wall of board games, ski ball, foosball, and more. Whether you’re out with a big group, on a casual date, or just looking to unwind, there’s something here for everyone. Add in consistently great food, solid drinks, and a crowd that’s always buzzing with good energy, and it’s easy to see why Clinton Hall stands out. Big shoutout to Josh and Jefferson for always bringing the good vibes. Highly recommend this place to anyone in Midtown looking for more than just your average bar experience.
Ambience: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Food: 4.5/5 Did a business meeting here and I’m surprised they give you a small portion of fries, the food is super yummy though. The crispy chicken tenders were just as they say crispy, and the classic burger was also good. Drinks were just good, I expected the mocktail to be more of the sweet refreshing side but it wasn’t. The beers though were a nice touch, the green one had an after taste of a green sour patch gummy. Service was excellent, very accommodating and reliant. Very nice and friendly.
I picked this place because of all the fun games. The manager was awesome. He turned up the music so we can karaoke and dance. The staff was very helpful attentive and professional thank you Clinton Hall for having an affordable lunch in New York City the beer and the food so tasty definitely recommend and will come back.
We stopped by Clinton Hall this weekend for brunch and got their bottomless brunch special - $19.99 with purchase of an entree. Loved the pancakes, French toast sticks & eggs Benedict. They also have an amazing waffle cake tower that's perfect for birthdays. They also have shelves of board games to choose. They have 4 locations so we plan on checking out the other 3 soon.
Attended this venue for our staff appreciation party for 2 years in a row. Overall good food and quality of service! We had an open bar (they also have non-alcoholic drinks for those who are curious). I liked the impossible sliders (plant-based option) and the Mac and cheese balls. For the drinks I had a pineapple juice and later a sprite. Other items that were on the menu were fish tacos, regular sliders, chips and guacamole etc.
Great craft beer selection but don't order any food. I haven't had anything I liked here, the sliders, nachos, Philly cheese steak etc. Everything was particularly bland food wise. But amazing beer so come for the beer! But don't come hungry.
A fun place to gather over food and boardgames! Clinton Hall offers probably one of the most affordable lunch deals in the area, cleverly called Deflation lunch. These options change and it's nice to see what they bring. I found their Cuban sandwich was a bit salty. The chili that used to be on the menu is now unfortunately gone. Aside from food, the beers they have on tap are really good. I recommend the number 2. It is crisp and refreshing, with apple flavor. Staff are present, friendly, and attentive. You can sit at the bar and chat up with them. The bar itself has tables that usually have a game like connect four or other tabletops and it helps make the whole place a lot more suited to bring even your family or friends for a game night!
The four of us shared the Clinton Hall Burger Challenge and it was delicious! The patties were juicy, the bacon was crispy and sweet, and it's on a potato bun! The fries were a little overcooked. We also shared their holiday special menu. The cubano was surprisingly really good and the Christmas waffle and ice cream was huge and fun to share. The service was a little slow because there were only two waitresses during a busy lunch time.
Came here a few days ago for a casual gathering and it was a good pick! The venue is quite large and had tables available when we were there. Granted, we were there on a rainy Tuesday night before a holiday so maybe less customer traffic than usual - but ideal for our group of 10-15 to hang! Regarding food, there's plenty of options on the menu and I would say better than your average bar's food items. I would recommend the Korean fried chicken sandwich and onion rings but I think you can't really go wrong with most fried item choices. We didn't get to take advantage of the vast board game selection but I feel like this would be a great last minute place to hang especially if you have a large group.
Review Update Dec 2023: I went back here with a couple of friends and it's definitely gone down hill. (ha.) The burgers no longer include fries!! DEVASTATING. You now need to pay an additional $7 for fries by ordering them separately. In my older photos for this place, you can see every burger had a thing of fries. They charged us $2 for a drink on the rocks. Really? $2 for an ice cube? We also ordered (2) beers and later ordered another round of the same beers (another 2) but they rang up the second amount of beers at a higher price. Used to like coming here with friends to hang out, eat and play games but not sure we'll be coming back anytime soon. ------------------ I love this place. As someone who doesn’t drink too often, they’ve got a great selection of drinks, the food is super good, and they’ve got tons of games to keep everyone entertained. The atmosphere is very chill, spacious and welcoming. Definitely my go-to spot!
At 11:15 (45 minutes before closing), the manager turned off the music, told us to finish our drinks, and just stood watching us. When I asked why, he said we were the last people there and the bartenders can’t leave until we do, which I understand, but it’s a poor customer experience to get kicked out way before closing.
Didn’t get to try the food because the hostess has an attitude problem. Before we stepped inside we saw there was an event happening inside and were wondering if they would still be able to seat us so we stepped inside to ask. My friend politely asked her if there was an event which she rolled her eyes and answered yes and then he asked “Can we eat here still?” which she rolled her eyes again and goes “Well you’re inside aren’t you?” Immediately i grabbed my friend and left because we were simply trying to ask a question to make sure we weren’t disrupting an event and she had an attitude right as we walked in. 0/10 im not giving my service to a place who has a rude hostess. This was on Thursday at 7pm at night, management should probably check their staff because they are rude!!!
