Court Street Grocers Brooklyn Reviews
Just attended my niece’s baby shower that was catered by this incredible eatery. Food was high high quality: clean, healthy and absolutely delicious! Presentation (very large hero sandwiches and salads) was well engineered and visually beautiful to behold. My daughter and I are vegans and somewhat discriminating when it comes to food- this eatery exceeded our expectations!
Staff were great, broccoli Rueben was really tasty as was the carrot cake. A little pricy, but that goes for everything in New York! Definitely recommend.
As a vegetarian, the sandwiches here have ruined me for all other sandwich shops – they're simply unbeatable. I'm partial to the vegitalian and vegdelite but all the veggie options I've had are great. Flavors and size are perfect to me. Even a meat eater might enjoy (and get some extra fiber to boot)! Don't miss the dessert case either – the carrot cake is incredible.
First came here in like 2019, been eating the same sandwich ever since. The Vegitalian is a perfect sandwich in my books; sweet, savory, salty, tangy. About $20 after a bag of Voodoo chips and a sandwich, it’s not the cheapest. It is what it is: an elevated sandwich in the elevated neighborhood of Carroll Gardens. Love this place!
Not mad about it at all!! Only good things to say about the italien combo sandwich. Came here for a quick bite and shared the Sando with my partner. Here is the breakdown. Italien sandwich: 10/10 -Meat to bread ration was fantastic. Not to thick not too skinny. - sauce was the perfect sauce. Nice little kick, creamy and briney. What could be bad! - size was generous and fre$hhh. Defs coming back to try them ALL!
We went in the middle of the week at lunch time, so it was no busy at all we were very lucky(every time we walk by it is very busy). First time being here and I was very impressed with all the options of bake goods, products and the extensive menu. I order the cubano sandwich and it was good all the flavors where there but for me it was a little salty and it had to much sauce, so it is very messy to eat be aware of that. I think I’ll go back to try other things from the menu. They have outdoor and indoor seating (big space). All the staff was very friendly!
Easily some of the best sandwiches in Brooklyn. My favorite is the Italian, but they have incredible vegetarian options too. The Broccoli Reuben is outstanding, really satisfying texture and flavor but light at the same time. Love the Olliflower too, we have yet to have a sandwich that could even be considered subpar!
While minimal in terms of groceries, we came for the sandwiches. They were superb. The 'Macho Wo(man)' is a pulled pork shoulder sandwich with a bright, tangy coleslaw, jalapenos, cheddar, and their 'duck sauce' made in-house. My partner ordered the Italian. Both were winners. If we lived in the area we would definitely come more often to try more of their sandwiches, they have an impressively large selection and each is quite unique.
Such a great vibe as you walk up to CSG. You can tell it's a neighborhood staple and a way that most people in the area start their day! The menu options are listed on the window as it wait outside (covid protocols) and this is it a great way to make the right selection as you wait! Once you get in and place your order, you can easily get distracted by the branded merch of cupboard staples you might want to pick up! The Food: by far the B&B might be one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had! Very simple, but all of the ingredients were great! The bread and bacon stood out, but the layering of ingredients speak to the care put into this breakfast sandwich! The vegitailian and Italian were also great hits! The sauces and fresh veggies on these sandwiches really wake up your taste buds! The qty of ingredients between the bread was just right! Not too much or too little! They had great balance and again, the BREAD! So fresh and crispy with each bite! I really can't wait to go back and try others on the menu!
I heard about this place because of the YouTube channel of Bon Appétit. Finally, after waiting a bit due to COVID-19, my Mom and I adventured into the Red Hook area. Was it worth the 30 minute drive and 30 minute wait for a sandwich? Yes. We had the Tuna Berry and Vegi Delight which we both split. Both delicious in their own way. We also shared their chocolate chip cookie and the orange olive oil cake which was moist, dense and delicious. Highly recommend. Also recommend going to the park down the block to enjoy the sandwich during the pandemic.
Consistently good sandwich spot, great for breakfast or lunch. I have the turkey delight every time. It’s turkey and Swiss with coleslaw and comeback sauce. I love a turkey sandwich and this one is delicious. Good quality turkey and love the addition of coleslaw instead of just dry greens because it’s very flavorful and saucey. It is on the more indulgent side but very good. I add mustard for some tangy relief from the rich sauce. The only downfall is the price. For two sandwiches we paid over $40. It’s conveniently located in a great neighborhood.
bit hesitant to try given it was a local chain however, it lives up to the name. had the pork roll which is a bacon, egg and cheese and the bacon is essentially crispy and the roll was basic brioche bun but overall had good structure and doesn't disappoint for 12 bucks. it was okay but The vibes are nice in there and sandwiches. good
Still tasty, still great service, still excellent product BUT bring a magnifying glass to find the protein. Pretty skimpy given the price tag. I used to go here and eat half and take the other half for later. Those days are gone. Everything is shrinking. More bread than anything else now. Oh well.
The Droopy sandwich was very good but I knew when I picked up the bag and it weighed 2 ounces, I was gonna be disappointed. For $18, I was expecting a hefty sandwich that I could eat in two sittings but this thing was gone in 5 minutes. The sandwiches are very good with great ingredients but extremely light for a hero.
Ham egg&cheese on a roll for $20, way overpriced, is usually never more than $11 in any place, and i have tasted better ones in those cheaper places. Also, came with other toppings that i didnt even order.
This place bums me out because I really like the sandwiches (tho they are pricey), but I don’t understand why the cashier woman is consistently so rude. Even if I go in determined to be nice to her she’s always rude to me about something and I leave feeling like I wish I didn’t just pay $18 for a sandwich. She makes the food hard to enjoy 😔 there are other negative reviews about her so not sure why nothing has changed
I’ve been a regular for the past 5 years, but unfortunately my latest sandwich will be my last. The staff are friendly and the bread is fresh. But there has been a notable decrease in the amount of meat and ingredients included in each of the several sandwiches I order. Sometimes it is passable, but multiple recent orders have been bare.
This is the second time I’ve been here and I’ve been disappointed both times. The place is set up so great, everything from the number of sandwiches (over 30!) to a pickup window where you can see if your food is ready with post it’s on the window if you missed the guy calling your name. However, the food continues to be disappointing. My Flip Flop (play on an Italian sub) had bread that was extremely dry, at least a day old if not older. There was barely any meat on it, so it was not a great balance. The B+C (breakfast sandwich with chorizo) was a hash texture (all mixed together) and very wet. It’s served on a roll which gets a little soggy but otherwise was good. Overall just expect more from a place that serves exclusively sandwiches. Also not a great chip or drink selection so recommend stopping at a bodega.
Had high expectations on this place. Got 2 droopys. Looks like high quality food but it was impossible to eat. The roast beef is like gum. No matter how much you chew on it, it doesn't break up in pieces. Even to take a bite of the sandwich you need to struggle pulling it away from your face with force. Don't know how other food is but roast beef is garbage. Also the roast beef was colder then my ex's heart 🥶 and for $40.
